  • OK. Yeah, @KorandAngels That was my original idea, but I never ended up using snow stuff.
  • @KorandAngels Its a promising design. The only thing I would do is remove the second ability, then add reach and an activated ability that allows it to deal damage to creatures with flying.

I created these to honor my family heritage. I have ancestors form Germany, and these two characters are legends from rural Germany. Hope you like.

  • @Revan love the German ideas. I guess my thought was right. It's cool you made those! Gave them both a fav.

I keep feeling like it is very abuseable with an actual card. The idea has been stewing with me since I looked in the comment sections a while back. Can anyone think of a card that might let it be abused like Xero alluded to?

@Ranshi I found a way. Enchant it with Evil Presence and then Genju of the Fens. If you have a mana doubler in play, you can turn it into a creature then pump it for infinity/infinity and swing in for the win. Great card!

My goal with this card was to make something that felt worthy of being a Commander. I don't play EDH all that often, so it might be off, but I'd love to get some feedback.
  • @TheWanderer
The first ability would be "Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, you may search you library for a land card, reveal it and put it into your hand. Shuffle your library.

His second ability might as well have the keyword Landfall since that's what it is.

I suggest making his first ability only search for basic land cards, since there are many OP nonbasic lands.

@Fantastickill7 my bad, not sure how that happened.

With this unhinged tribute you could instantly win the game via ludicrous standards. the first 'player' should be players, but otherwise very good

You have to comment/fav the card/cards posted immediately before yours... in this case that would be my card.
  • @Fantastickill7, I would make it "Up to X target players..." because if one concedes, the spell would fizzle for everyone else.

@Globert-the-Martian, would the proper mechanic be Vanishing 3?

@BothOfYou, remember to credit the artists of your cards!

@Temurzoa I think devotion to Phyrexian mana is a cool mechanic, and the name and art certainty look Phyrexian.

(I've posted the old version of this card already, this is the new version.)
  • So for the Devotee, I think it is kind of underpowered and not really red (although red makes it look cool). Making it a legendary seems really off, as it isn't that good. No matter how you slice it, the only benefit it has is the suspend, which seems to be a reasonable one, although I would make it 3 instead of 2. It could totally be uncommon and nonlegendary as a suspend 3(see aetherborn marauder), and is no way complex enough to need a legendary rare.
I am unable to comment on Decae due to a lot of inexperience and lack of understanding of rat tribal stuff.

  • @DrakeGladis I don't really understand the art, and Grixis isn't a very defensive colour. The effects seem in-colour and appropriate for that mana cost.

You should've added the reminder text for Phasing since I had no idea what that did.
other than that great card, maybe a little UP considering it costs {w}{b}{r}{g} and is a legend. felt a fav

  • @FantasticKill7 I think it could be common. I think this is executed very well otherwise. Nice work!

    My card:

  • @shadow123
I thought about making it a common, but then I though about it a little. Does a 2/1 haste that can immediately take out small creatures really small enough to be a common? so I went with uncommon just to be safe.
  • @shadow123
Is that supposed to be a card of Dizzydude?
  • edited February 2020
@shadow123 is that based on my brother @Dizzydude?
Thoughts on these two? ( They are remakes of previous cards, that, hopefully have better flavor, wording and aren't UP or OP. )

  • @Mir-151414, don't see any problems with Colossal Protector. Maybe Finale of Desperation should be like "Then that creature fights up to one target creature you don't control." so the spell has less chance of fizzling.

  • @Mir-151414 @Famtastickill7 Yes, my card is for Dizzydude.

    @Temurzoa
You should've made it not include your upkeep or endstep.
"When Teferi, Temporal Prankster enters the battlefield, reverse the order of phases in the turn. (This does not include your upkeep or endstep.)
Whenever Teferi, Temporal Prankster leaves the battlefield, exile him. If you do, randomize the order of phases in the turn. (This does not include your upkeep or endstep.)"
Otherwise awesome card, love what your going for with it! Left a favorite.

@Fantastickill7 Considering how cards that support Elf tribal tend to work, Ephalioth's probably a little too good. He's got a body and ability that are pretty decent by themselves (3/3 for 3, evasion in the form of trample, notable bonus whenever you deal combat damage in a form that tends to be one of the main resources Elves lacks in cards). The fact that he also gives your elves a buff and the evasion that tends to be so valuable to them (especially in conjunction with the passive card draw) means that it probably needs some form of significant weakening.

I guess a sum up would be that while elves sometimes wins through getting masses of mana and pumping it into an Ezuri, Renegade Leader, this would give the deck significant additional reach and survivability that's probably a bit too convenient and powerful on a single efficiently statted card.

  • @Temurzoa (et al, posted here for the sake of general learning!) - there seems to be a small misunderstanding of how targeting works. As a brief summary, a spell or ability needs a target for each instance of the word "target" it has. Those need to be legal as you cast the spell. Once the spell is on the stack, as long as one target is still legal, the spell will resolve to the best of its ability. If it's trying to do something based on a now-illegal target (say because something was removed), it just won't do that part. If all targets are now illegal, the spell will 'fizzle' and be put into the graveyard without effect. The practical result here is that you don't need "up to N" on all spells with multiple targets, there are specific moments where it helps though.

@KorandAngels This is a fun idea, but when you really get down to it, it's just a 3 mana board wipe in blue. It doesn't fit the colors, and even if it did, it's still way too undercosted for a board wipe, especially one that wipes out lands along with anything else. Besides, there is no way anyone would consider paying more than 1 for the X, because it would just be strictly worse. I would recommend making the time counters count up to some number before blowing up, say 10. Something like "Matter of time enters the battlefield with X time counters on it. {t} put a time counter on Matter of Time. whenever the tenth time counter is put on Matter of Time, sacrifice it, then destroy all permanents." Because the effect is so strong, I would also recommend you exile it when it blows everything up, because a recurable enchantment board wipe would make games excruciatingly painful. I think it should be a color other than blue, because blue doesn't get board wipes. Perhaps it should be UW?

Here's my cards. I thought making a bunch of sorceries that trigger an additional ability if enough of them had been cast would be a good idea. The arbitrary 3 card you need in graveyard represents the number of cards you need to read tarot cards. Comment and/or favorite these, then post up to two of your own!

    The WorldThe Lovers

P.S. for The Lovers, I tried to get a picture of a goblin couple, but apparently no one is interested in a loving and caring goblin relationship enough to draw a picture for it, so I just went with the second best option.

@ouser94501 Those tarot cards are just renamed Arcane from Kamigawa to be honest.

Here's an edited version of one of your cards:
    _______________________

    Temporal Grip {2}{U}{U}

    Sorcery -- Arcane

Tap up to two creatures. They don't untap during their controller's next untap step. If there are three Arcane cards in your graveyard, take an extra turn after this one.
    ________________________

See? Basically no difference aside only to make things even more complicated. I mean the tarot subtype.
