  • People mix up action keywords with keyword abilities every time! Let's see how many people do that this time too! XD

Also here's a small thing.. if the text continues after the action keyword, the reminder text starts with "(To ____, )"
    Compare Serum Visions with Preordain.
    So for example,
-Freeze X target creatures. (Tap those creatures. They don't untap during... )
-Freeze X target creatures. Draw a card for each creature frozen this way. (To freeze X creatures, tap them. They don't untap during...)
  • That's a very different take on Shelter from the mechanix, but I like it. I might hybrid both concepts into a third version. See what I can come up with.

    My original version (Not entries)

    image image

I meant as a mechanix protect creatures with in red and green, since those are colors that oppose blue(both) and white (red) which have exile and bounce effects, and those terrains tend to provide the most shelter from the elements in nature. (And I hate cyclonic rift, so wanted cards have an answer to it.) Green/red creatures tend not to have vigilance, so they forgo their protection if they attack.
  • There should be a Mechanix set symbol for the challenges.

Looking back at your original, maybe I changed it too much. But I'm glad you like the Mechanix version and thanks for sharing the original version too.
  • @Tomigon, There's enough room in the multiverse for multiple different takes for an idea. I didn't exactly love the original concept, as I only ever made a handful of cards with it, so may be it was time take another stab at it.

  • 1rst entry with Zombify.

It's a small mistake, but you forgot to edit the reminder text of Aquarius, the Wise. And I think you selected a wrong card type for Marauding Raid by mistake.

Interesting. I have a wording suggestion for that card

{t}: Shelter target creature. (Exile it. Return it to the ...)

Creatures you don't control have "If this creature is unblocked, you may have it assign its combat damage to a Dungeon defending player controls. If you do, when that Dungeon is put into a graveyard this turn, put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control."

This is not a first time I say this to you, but colon is very important in the wording of mtg. Colon is only used in activated abilities, and it tells you whether you can activate the ability or not.
    For example-
    1)-"{t}, Discard a card: Draw a card"
2)-"{t}: Discard a card, then draw a card."
You can't activate the ability (1) if you can't discard a card. But you can activate (2) even if you have no cards in your hand.

  • Both of them are fixed.
  • @Tomigon. I did another shot at my Dungeon card but now the picture is huge! I was going to go with exactly what you said but I was wondering if a bunch of these cards were out if the mechanic would break the game. Maybe I was reading it wrong.

@Tomigon - just a heads up that replicate is already a WotC keyword:[replicate]
  • edited February 16
Oh! Then I didn't played the oldest Ravnica in English. Thanks!

Please add "AUTHOR'S NOTE: Replicate is already a keyword. Let me know if you have a new name idea for this mechanic!" under Replicate mechanic in the list.
  • @Tomigon
I think "Duplicate" is more along the lines of the mechanic anyhow.
  • @Faiths_Guide
    Replicate -> Duplicate
  • @Hinges
If you see the list above, some keywords have "_____" after that. That means you are supposed to put something in there. Like "Detain _____." can be "Detain target creature." or "Detain each creature." That's a good thing about action keywords. It's very flexible.
  • edited February 16
So do you want mine to read, "Freeze creatures that Frozen Halls blocks."
I'm confused because you end by saying it is 'flexible.' So is it flexible enough to leave my card as is?
  • edited February 16
Sorry for the confusion. I wasn't talking about your Frozen Halls. I thought I should point out your misunderstanding because you made three submissions but you are completely ignoring "_____" part. That's killing the flexibility of those mechanics. For example, if "Freeze each creature" is too strong, you can make it say "Freeze each creature with power 3 or less." You can't do such things if you only make it say "freeze."

Anyway, this is how I would word your cards:
    Drakes Keep
{u}{u}, {t}: Incarcerate another target creature. Put a prison counter on Drakes Keep. (To incarcerate a creature, exile it until this creature leaves the battlefield.)

When Drakes Keep is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, target player plunders X, where X is the number of prison counters on Drakes Keep.

    Frozen Halls
Whenever you cast a sorcery spell, add {u} to your mana pool.

Whenever Frozen Halls blocks a creature, freeze that creature. (Tap that creature. It doesn't untap during its controller's next untap step.)

Also you could have just copied my text when I suggested the wording of your first entry. It's free for you to not believe my wording, but I always have real cards' wordings in mind. (I used texts of Cunning Giant and Adarkar Valkyrie for that suggestion.)
Reread your new wording. The person who choose where to assign damage is that Dungeon's controller now.
