  • Hi everyone! a few things i just want to share here.
    First, some fun cards!
i also brought this character over from my TCG, inspired by one of our d&d characters. probably a very strong combo piece (looking at you, akroma, vision of ixidor) but i tried to translate the card to mtg as good as i can.
    also: A silver-border card!
is it even possible to guess what it's themed around? (it's the number 5, this was sarcasm)

Also, i LOVE the cards you've posted here!

@smaxx, i love chaos spirit. i've looked at the card so many times, and each time i've noticed more and more that i love about it.
i am wondering, do each of the little tokens get combat steps of their own? if so, and even if not so, i can just imagine attacking a seemingly vulnerable player, only for them to bring this out right after and deal 21 damage to me... during my turn!
this card scares me and it would probably be banned... but the mechanics and potential interactions are so creative as well! this is exactly the type of card i was looking for.
    10/10 card.

@LvB, the adaptive spiderbot is an amazing idea that honestly seemed underwhelming at first. then i remembered it was green and changed my mind.
i can just picture someone putting 10 or so counters on this thing in a few turns late game, giving it trample and/or deathtouch, and then blasting through your creatures like a cannon.
the fact that it also works as a strong early game threat adds to its power as well, yet it doesn't have high base stats on its own.
also, just wondering... does it have the spider creature type?
    10/10!

@StuffnSuch, fight for the fallen? well, if they're fallin' maybe catch them so they AREN'T fallin' anymore, rather than fighting for them?
anyway, jokes aside, this is a really fun card. i love the flavor of being more and more determined to win the more allies you've lost, and feel like both the effects and flavor work very well with the colors.
the card itself would be terrifying on turn 3, and even scarier late game. i imagine it would work very well with the card single combat, especially if you have a lot of cards that get bonuses when creatures die.
honestly, i think the potential for infinite loops isn't necessarily a bad thing for this... it makes the card even stronger, and i can see the potential for token decks allowing for massive creatures.
lesson learned here? bring enchantment removal when playing against this card. it's scary!
    10/10 card, no doubt.

Thank you so much for putting these cards here. it makes me so happy that people are still here every once in a while to have fun, make cards, and share them.
even though i am a new member of the forums, i so, so wish that i was here during the days when it was more active.

Everyone have a great day, night, morning, or whatever time it is when you read this,

This right here is why we kept coming back ... not because the site was booming, but because every now and then someone drops in with joy, creativity, and way too many 10/10s šŸ˜‚

Your cards are a delight .... I love how you keep bridging your own TCG + D&D inspirations into Magic. That kind of cross-pollination is exactly the brand of chaos that built this place in the first place.
Silver-border 5-theme? I don’t think there’s ever been a more peak Cardsmith energy sentence than that.

And your shoutouts to everyone’s submissions… chef’s kiss.
It feels like a tiny awards show thrown at the end of the world; beautiful in its own way.

ā€œI wish I was here when it was more active.ā€

Trust me .. you would’ve thrived here back then.
    But here’s the secret:
    You were here now.
    That’s what matters.

Maybe the bonfire isn’t roaring anymore ... but every time someone tosses a card in, the coals glow again.
    You just did that.
And that’s enough to keep the forge warm a little longer. šŸ”„

Thank you for the heart, the laughter, the designs, and the optimism.

Wherever this little corner of the internet drifts from here…
I’m glad our threads crossed at all

  • :P we're so dead lmao
  • Card Creation is working again. Though the new editor isnt as good as the old legacy version, it at least usable now.
  • @smaxx
    šŸ’€ lmao
At this point we’re basically a haunted Denny’s at 3AM -------- no customers, one flickering light, and a ghost in the walk-in freezer whispering ā€œmystery boxā€¦ā€

But as long as someone still walks in and orders pancakes, we’re technically open.

    @LvB
Ayyy card creation functionality returning is the kind of plot twist a dying anime gets right before the season finale.
New editor might be clunkier than my first Commander deck… but ā€œusableā€ is honestly the highest bar we’ve had in months, so I’ll take it.

Might just be the breath of air this forge needs.
(Or the last gasp. Either way, dramatic.)

  • @StuffnSuch
Now that is a callback — both a classic design vibe and somehow still fresh.
I swear your cards always feel like they wandered in from a parallel Commander precon that only exists in the good timeline.

Love seeing you still forging stuff and tossing it into the thread.
Every time you drop a card in here, the lights flicker back on for a moment. šŸ”„

  • @jpastor I had a really rough day.  I hope you know that seeing your praise for my silly little card really brightened everything.  Thanks for still dropping in from time to time.
