    The story of my life:

    image
  • I shall share the very first double-faced planeswalker and their story which I created in this site. Keep in mind that these are quite old, so they might be a bit bland and have some small/major mistakes.

Sediran Amoux was living in a town where he worked as a guard, watching the streets of his home at night and keeping the townspeople safe from the predators of the night. He lived with his wife, Linda and their daughter, Emma. He had a close friend named Emeric in the guard duty, who went missing one night.

Few months after the disappearance of his brother in arms, a werewolf attacked the town during the night. Sediran and the guards fought against the cursed predator under the light of a full moon until Sediran saw something shimmering on the werewolf. The werewolf had a medallion which was given to Emeric by Sediran when Emeric first started his guard duty.

Sediran realized that his friend had now become a werewolf. He didn't want to kill him or let the other guards slay their former brother in arms, so he decided to lure the beast away from the town instead. Sediran took the nearest horse he found in the town and gained the werewolf's attention. The werewolf chased Sediran into the forest, where he outplayed the predator and trapped it into an old pit. He couldn't get out of there, so Sediran just watched as the morning sun rose and the predator transformed back to human form.

It really was Emeric. He had become a werewolf. Sediran's duty is to protect the town from savage creatures but he didn't want to kill his friend either. Emeric asks forgiveness for becoming a werewolf. He tells that he has settled in an abandoned house which is located deep within the wilderness, far away from the town. Sediran helped Emeric out from the pit and brought him back to his new home with the horse.

Sediran told Emeric to move farther away from the town so that he wouldn't return as a werewolf ever again. Then Sediran rode off with the horse without looking back.

When he was getting close to the town, he saw as the other guards awaited him with the guard captain Radolf at the town gates. Sediran jumped from the horse's back and before he could say anything, the guards knocked him out.

When Sediran regained consciousness, he was in chains before the guards and the mayor of the town, Blavier. Mayor Blavier told Sediran how some of the guards went after Sediran the night he lured Emeric in his werewolf form out of the town and saw them going deeper into the wilds with Emeric in his human form at morning. Even though Sediran tried to explain, the guards, captain Radolf and mayor Blavier came to the conclusion that Sediran is helping the wolf packs which have been tormenting the town for many years and decided to throw Sediran into prison and then hang him when the morning comes.

During the midnight, Sediran' wife, Linda, helped him escape from the prison. Linda stole the key from the guards, for she didn't want them to kill Sediran. She told that the townspeople are sure that Sediran is helping the werewolves because he is one of their packs, just like Emeric. Then she told him that Emma is safe in the capital, and once they've escaped from the town they can live there, away from the people of the town who wants to kill Sediran. So Sediran and Linda packed, took their horse from their home and escaped from the town.

But they didn't get far. Guard captain Radolf caught them with his guards at the outskirts of the town. They killed Linda's and Sediran's steed with an arrow and then they chased them deeper into the woods. Sediran tried to protect his wife but the guards shot arrows at him. He fell on the ground bleeding and watched as they killed Linda right before his eyes with swords.

Sediran was sure he will die there with his wife, but then he heard the howl of the werewolves. Savage predators attacked the guards. Some of them got mauled while others rode back to the town with guard captain Radolf. When the battle was over, Sediran saw as the other werewolves chased the guards except one, Emeric. Emeric quietly watched as his old friend was dying right before him. Sediran crawled to Linda's side, watching her deceased body through bloody tears. Sediran whispered to Emeric that he wished he was strong enough to protect himself and everyone he loved.

Then Emeric bit Sediran's arm. He felt great pain as his old friend's cursed blood was now in his veins. The full moon was above and Sediran's sadness turned into burning rage. His wounds didn't hurt so much anymore; new kind of power is keeping him alive. He has turned into a werewolf. He held Linda's body in his arms and howled with sadness and rage.

The two friend followed the other werewolves into the town, where the guards tried to kill them with silver arrows. Sediran and Emeric slaughtered the guards, then started to maul other town members. Then Sediran tracked down Radolf, who was protecting Blavier with only a few guards at the center of the town.

The guards shot arrows at Sediran, but he slaughtered the guards, ripping apart their bodies in anger. Radolf tried to stab Sediran into the heart with his sword, but he wasn't fast enough. The new werewolf crushed Radolf's head on the ground and then watched as Blavier was running away. He chased him down and mauled him.

Sediran was covered in the blood of the guards and the townspeople. He looked around as bodies were lying everywhere. Everyone in his hometown was dead. On that moment his planeswalker spark ignited. He howled and planeswalked into the plane of Innistrad.

In the forests of Kessig he found other werewolves and they accepted him as one of their packs. Sediran accepted his new fate, embraced it, living with the other werewolves and animals in the wilds. He vowed that once he is strong enough to control his powers, he will return to his home plane to find his daughter, Emma.

    Story time! Gather round children...

Nimraid wasn't a very unique child, nor did he stand out for... well, for any reason at all. Relative to the others that returned to Hollowhenge he was perfectly average. As he matured it became quite obvious that he was an exceptional hunter, exceptional everywhere but Hallowhenge that is. All those that returned there are reasonably exceptional hunters.

One thing that did set him apart, in some aspects, was his born lycanthropy. But there were quite a few lycanthropes in Hollowhenge, though most were unknown to each other. He never recalled his incidents which took place in wolf form but he knew they had happened, the ripped clothes and bloodied maw were enough to signify the transformation.

As Nimraid reached his hundredth season a change began to come over him, he could feel a creeping desire to change his eating habits and hunting tactics accompanied by a general sense of discomfort.

(Let us accompany Nimraid, now of one hundred and twenty seasons age, on a hunt.)

Nimraid crept silently through the dense growth which now filled the circular henge of dilapidated structures, all that was left of the once proud Avabruck. He was only a single member of a hunting party consisting of well over twenty individuals. In spite of the fact that he'd always been told staying near the others on a hunt was safest, Nimraid ventured off on his own. He spotted a small deer in front of him and fell on all fours, half crawling towards his would be prey, keeping as noiseless as the leaves and branches comprising the forest floor would allow. As he neared the doe Nimraid felt a sudden urge to sink his teeth into the unsuspecting prey's throat, under this impulse he chose to become a wolf--over his last few seasons, Nimraid found himself succumbing to these urges and had been able to willingly transform into a beast, though he still could not return to his human visage at will. By inducing this change he had devoured multiple kills which he should have brought back with him. Nimraid always found himself "human" again not long after eating every bit of flesh from his kill. But despite this dilemma he couldn't resist the overwhelming desire to take a kill as would a ravenous animal... between his powerful jaws--and pounced on the doe. It's neck in his mouth, Nimraid snapped its spine with a quick wrench and began to consume it. The sound of a snarling brute rending a carcass could be heard by a few members of the hunting party. As they neared the clamor, its ferocity unnerved them and fear took them. They fired multiple arrows in the direction of the sound and ran off to find additional hunters.

"Uhnn..." Nimraid heard his half-human voice murmur. Seconds after he was completely human once again. Searing pain in his right shoulder made him shudder. His left hand reached up and felt three shafts protruding from his skin, now bare as his shirt had been torn off completely by taking the werewolf form. Blood was spattered on him from the half eaten doe next to him and more was dripping from his mouth. Looking about, eyes full of rage, Nimraid couldn't wait to end the life of whatever shot him using either his boar spear or sword.

(I had thought out a lot more of the story, but let's just end it here for now.)

    A little about the Archivist:
Orinthene blinked, trying to clear her vision; it didn't help. The blurriness had nothing to do with her eyesight, rather, it was due to the heavy rain on the window pane through which she now squinted. "Torches?" she thought, "Could those little faint red glows out there be torches?" As she lived on the border of Avabruck, strange sounds and sights weren't really foreign, more intriguing then anything else. As the bright spots vanished from view, either because they were too far away or because the rain had swelled to a downpour, Orinthene decided she better turn in for the night.

Orinthene was fourteen years old and lived alone in a small run down cottage, what many would call a hut. Not much to look at from outside or in. Her parents were loving wonderful teachers and guardians that had been... misplaced, somehow. Orinthene had carried on alone with a touch of grief and a longing to know just what had befallen her beloved father and mother.

She awoke with a start only a few hours later to the sound of howls. "Mondronen" she surmised. Living this close to Avabruck meant that Orinthene knew enough that she wasn't easily startled or surprised. She drifted off to sleep.

    -YEARS PASS-

Orinthene's discovered that she can planeswalk. During the werewolf attack after the wards around Avabruck's central cathedral, the Temple of Saint Raban, failed. She returned to Innistrad shortly after. She doesn't wish to be anywhere else, she'd begun to archive. Her hut had become a storehouse of documents and research. Mostly in an effort to determine the fate of her parents, she'd now delved into the mysteries of every race on the plane and documented her findings. She's recently learned of Arlinn Kord, she'd witnessed Avacyn cursemuting or killing hundreds of werewolves, and knows of the angel's church launching a new inquisition more terrifying than anything they've done before against the lycanthropes. Not much of it matters as long as she's left to continue her vigil and learn the full extent of what there is to be learned on Innistrad.
Orinthene's sole goal is to be left alone and undisturbed. She has no desire to assist the coming Gatewatch or engage in the struggle of the native races. Her inherent powers are few, but empower her to keep her archive safe an obscured while simultaneously allowing her to go places others cannot as she collects little known facts.

(Sorry for my "novel" style and any mistakes I may have made. I know almost nothing of MTG lore, I just scabbed pieces off of wiki and MTG stories.)

  • Prologue:

The earth trembled as the woman ran through the caves, rocks were falling around her and heavy footsteps echoed behind her. She ran around a corner and hid behind some rocks, the crash of her pursuers ran past her hiding spot. After what felt like hours of waiting, she rose from the darkness and peeked out of the side cave. As she stepped out, a shadow enveloped her and massive hands covered her face. She tried to scream and pull away but the monster's grip was too strong, it started to drag her back down into the cave, knocking all obstacles behind it, it continued dragging her until the were both in the darkness of the pits. The screams echoed through the caves, but never reached the surface.
  • Second werewolf planeswalker and second story written here. I made them soon after Sediran, so the quality might be on the same level. I intended to continue the story, but I never got time for it.

Kyle was a poor boy in the city of Thraben. He used to live with his sick mother, Mira, in the streets and alleys of the capital, begging for money or stealing it from the people of Thraben at young age so he could buy food for himself and for his sick mother. According to Kyle's mother, his father was a werewolf hunter who got killed by multiple werewolves in a nearby village before Kyle was born. Mira moved into Thraben when Kyle was an infant, but she never told the reason why they moved away from the village. When Kyle was 9 years old, his mother passed away, for she has been sick for many years and even though Kyle tried to bring her to a doctor, Mira refused.

Not knowing what to do, the young boy packed everything he had in the alley and began to search for the village where he was born. He left the walls of Thraben for the first time in his life, and didn't prepare for the night. He was sleeping right next to the road until he heard a howl. A werewolf was running towards Kyle and he was standing there in fear, watching as the savage creature was charging towards him.

Right at the moment when the werewolf was going to make a blow, Kyle dodged and started to run into the forest. He heard as the werewolf was chasing him, so he climbed on top of a tree. Kyle has been climbing on the buildings of Thraben, so climbing on top of a tree was easy. The werewolf didn't find Kyle, who was watching it from the tree. Eventually the creature found something else to chase and ran away. Then Kyle started to move down from the tree to get his bag, but when he was hanging on a branch, it broke and Kyle fell down to the hard ground and lost consciousness.

When Kyle woke up, he was in a house with bandages on his head, lying on a bed. He doesn't remember the last time when he slept on a soft, clean, warm bed. The morning sun was rising outside and the room was slightly dusty but still neat. It was probably a guest room. He could hear and smell as someone was cooking in another room. Then the door opened right before him. A middle aged woman was carrying a plate with soup on it. She was delighted to see Kyle awake at last. She gave Kyle a spoon, the soup and told him to eat it so he will feel better.

The woman introduced herself to be lady Oona Tarcur. She told Kyle how his husband found Kyle lying in the forest with a wound on his head last night near their farm. Her husband brought Kyle into their home and Oona started to bandage the wound on Kyle's head. Then they put Kyle into the guestroom and waited until morning.

Then a middle aged man comes into the room. He laughs as he sees that the boy is still breathing. He introduces himself to be Roy Tarcur, husband of Oona. Then the two asked Kyle's name and asked how he ended up into the forest in that condition. When Kyle revealed that he is an orphan boy from Thraben, Roy and Oona stared silently at each other for a moment. They left the room and started to mumble right behind the door. Kyle couldn't figure out what they were talking about so he started to eat the rest of the soup from his plate.

When Roy and Oona came back to the room few minutes later, Roy asked if Kyle wants to live with them and their two children, Jaxon and Tia. They could always use extra hands in the farm and they would give Kyle food to eat, clothes to wear and a roof where he can live under. Kyle couldn't be any happier. These people seem to be like his distant, good relatives. He promised to help in the farm when he gets better.

And so Kyle settled in the home of Tarcurs. After some time, Oona and Roy adopts Kyle so he becomes one of the Tarcurs. Over the years he works in the farm with his foster family and visits the capital from times to time. He sometimes walks into the wilds, so he can observe the wolves and even werewolves from trees, for he is fascinated by these creatures and wants to understand why his father hunted them. He has even learned some spells which only Kessigers know about while being in the wilds. Sometimes their home farm is being attacked by a wolf or a werewolf and the family has to fight against them.

When Kyle was 13 years old, he wanders to the wilds as usually after the day's work. But this time his foster sister, Tia, tries to follow him, for she is curious to watch what Kyle does after these years. However, she gets lost because Kyle is deeper within the wilds than she suspected, and she can't find back home. After Kyle has returned home, he hears from his foster brother, Jaxon that their sister is not home. So Kyle and Jaxon goes into the forest to search for Tia while their parents are in the farm, wondering where are their children. Jaxon takes two pitchforks with him, "just in case", according to him.

It was getting dark and the two boys were in the wilds. Kyle was leading the way, for he has been wandering around there more than anyone else in the farm. Then they hear a girl's scream nearby. They follow the noise and sees Tia is trying to hide from a werewolf.

This werewolf looks more dangerous than the others which have attacked the farm. Kyle draws the predator's attention to himself and tells his foster brother to get Tia to safety. The werewolf then tries to attack Kyle's foster sister, but Kyle comes into its way and hits the creature with the pitchfork. The werewolf howls and chases Kyle, who was running into a forest opening.

He fights the predator and injures its leg, but then it becomes angrier than before. The creature scratches Kyle's head and he falls to the ground and drops his pitchfork. Then werewolf is about to bite Kyle's arm off, but he manages to take the pitchfork and stab the predator's heart with it.

The werewolf dies at the moment it bites Kyle's hand. Its strong and sharp teeth penetrates his flesh and he feels burning pain in his arm. Kyle opens the dead lycanthrope's jaws and kicks its head away from the arm. He feels sick, as if he's about to throw up. Everything around him becomes red as he transforms under the rising full moon. His planeswalker spark also ignites in the horror which he is witnessing: He is transforming into a werewolf. He planeswalks into another plane and loses consciousness.

Kyle wakes up in a strange world. He sees as the morning sun rises and dragons are flying above in the skies. He can't get up; everywhere hurts. He feels like as if he has fought in a war for the entire night. Then he looks around and sees few corpses. Green humanoids and a small dragon hatchling have been mauled by a werewolf. Kyle didn't know what those creatures are. Then someone was walking from the distance to Kyle's direction.

A long haired man with a staff came to see what killed this young dragon.

Chapter One, Part One, The Gilded Hour:

Ezeri awoke to the war bells. She didn't think they would attack this soon, they had already weakened their forces and dragged their soldiers and citizens back to their kingdom. She rose out of her makeshift bed and slipped her city supplied armor on. She took what could be her last look at her home, she looked around and saw her oddities and her different worldly possessions before she grabbed grabbed her sword from beside the umbrella and sheathed it at her waist. She ran out

She ran through the chaotic streets and pushed through the crowds of panicking civilians and soldiers like her to get to her station. She was like many other soldiers in the militia, in need of money and loyal to their kingdom, but unlike others she was passionate for the cause. She had wanted to be a knight since she was a child, just like her brothers.

She reached the battlegrounds and lined up in her battalion, watching as the Tordarian Orcs approached, their primal war-dogs growling, pulling at their reigns. As the cavalry rode in on their horses, Larrian, a captain of the guard signals to the garrison, they unsheathed their weapons and ready them in a position to attack. They had to wait until the Orcs came towards them, the only thing in between them a slow flowing river.

A horn sounded and the orcs charged, their beasts set loose and their archers firing, the cavalry raises their swords and charge as Ezeri follows her garrison with her shield raised and her sword extended.

To Be Continued in Part 2
  • I found this one, made for a contest that was about to end, so the story might be a bit rushed.

    image

Iida was a blacksmith's only daughter in a small village of the plane Gerria. Her mother died when she gave birth to her. Iida only had her father, but she knew everything about her mother even though she never met her. When Iida was growing up, she could see images of her mother's life from the clothes, jewelry and everything which her mother had used during her lifetime in their home.

Iida didn't know what explained it. She could gather knowledge from lifeless items, memories of each item's users flows into her mind whenever she touches one. That's why she learned quickly when it came to weapon forging. When she told about her ability to her father, he considered it as a gift with responsibility.

Iida's work as a blacksmith was magnificent and people all over the land noticed it. Her father was proud. Their family business has been even more prosperous ever since Iida became a fully fledged blacksmith.

When Iida was seventeen years old, a visitor from the capital arrived to her father's smithy on a warm summer's day. A messenger who was sent by the king with a message. Iida told him that her father was gone to the capital and will most likely return tomorrow. But then the messenger said that he had a message just for her. He told Iida how the king has heard about her works and asked her to reforge an ancient blade called "Votum."

Votum was a greatsword forged with metal which has been said to be made by the gods. It was found in ancient times in a crater which is located in the northren mountains. Only a few people in the history of Gerria has been able to unleash the blade's power to its fullest. All of them have been rulers, leaders or mages; people with great power.

It was destroyed when a mighty hellkite dragon attacked the capital and the current king's father used it to slay the beast. It wasn't the only time when the legendary sword has broken into shards. No normal blacksmith can reforge Votum. It requires skill, strength and understanding to do so.

The king has been looking for a fitting blacksmith to remake the sword for years and wants to do it in secret. There are people who would like to have the sword or even the shards in their own hands and use them to conquer the kingdom.

If Iida is able to reforge Votum, she will have her own smithy in the capital. When the messenger said that, Iida accepted the offer with excitement in her eyes.

The bag which contained Votum's shards was given to Iida on the following day by the messenger. Then he told Iida that she shouldn't let anybody know about her assingment. People with dark intent may be listening. The messenger left immediately afterwards.

Iida brought the bag to the smithy and opened it. The metallic shards had a golden shine. She took one of them into her hand and focused her energy to it. She could see battles within her mind. Battles which have been fought a long time ago. The blade's owners' triumphs and defeats. The last breaths of the creatures which have tasted the sword's hard metal. So much blood and death from countless wars and conflicts. Iida's excitement turned into fear on that moment. She dropped the shard into the bag and already started to feel better. The sooner this will be dealt with, the better. She couldn't wait until she could move to the capital, the beating heart of the kingdom. Her father's smithy and the old village had been way too small for her soul.

It was almost midnight, but Iida was still working with Votum within the smithy. That's when her father arrived. He asked her why is she forging in the middle of the night when people should save their strength for a new day. Iida wasn't going to answer at first, but then she said that she was given an assigment which would open new doors for her and for him. She focused on the blade afterwards, not paying anymore attention to her father's ramblings.

When it was almost morning, Iida decided to go to bed. Votum was in her mind all the time and more memories flowed from it when she was forging it. No other weapon or armor has had such a dark past.

Three months later on a chilling autumn's evening the sword was complete. Iida made it look exactly like she has seen it in the shards' memories. The power is in full potential when the shards are forged together into a weapon. Now all it would need is a proper wielder. The current king may just be the right person for that.

It was raining when Iida was going to bed. She didn't notice that she still had Votum with her. She left it leaning against the wall and then sat onto her bed with a deep sigh. She imagined what it would be like to live within the capital and suddenly felt homesick. All this extra careful forging and secrecy has drained all her powers. Iida's father may have been distant for most of his time, but at least she could always trust him with her worries. But not with this one. This was something which she had to dealt with alone.
  • Then Iida heard an explosion outside. She looked through the window and saw as the smithy was burning. She heards shouting and then another explosion. That time it was right below her. Her home was being attacked by a group of people with grenades.
She took Votum and ran outside her room. Her father was just right behind the door. He told her that they need to get to the village as quickly as possible.

But then a grenade shattered the window right next to them. Iida's father took her hand and they both ran to the window at the end of the corridor. Iida's father kicked it open and jumped down from it. Iida watched as the bomb exploded within their home and it set the second floor in flames. When they hit the wet ground, Votum slipped from Iida's hands. Her father helped her to get up and told her that they should get going. But Iida wriggled from her father's arms and took Votum from behind them. Iida's father gave her an angry look, but then they continued their escape.

Iida and her father ran into the forest, because the way to the village was blocked by the men who attacked their home and smithy. "I don't think anyone of them followed us here", Iida said.

Her father was panting. "Why are they doing this? Is it because of that dang sword!?"

When Iida was about to say something, she stuttered and looked behind her father. Two men with knives were running towards him and her.

    "Look out!"

Her father looked at the two charging men, then she turned to Iida and pointed at Votum.

"That sword, give it to me. Quickly!"

Iida gave him the sword and he swung it at the two men. He slashed one of them men to the stomach and he fell on the ground moaning. The other one managed to dodge the attack. He shouted and tried to stab Iida's father, who was fast enough to thrust Votum into the man's chest. Then the attacker gargled and fell on the ground as well.

Iida stared at her father silently for a few seconds, then said "I almost thought they had you."

He chuckled and said "I may not be much of a swordsman, but something gave me strength to fight these thugs."

Suddenly, the air felt colder than before. A shadowy figure was walking from the darkness of the woods. Iida's father raised his blade to the oddity's direction. "Don't come any closer or I have to kill you. You may take our home, but do not touch me or my daughter!"

The shadowy man jumped instantly at Iida's father. He swung at him with Votum, but it went through him, as if hit through fog. Then Iida saw a flash of metal right next to her father's throat, then a dark flow of blood. Iida's father didn't let out any voices. He fell onto is knees, then his face hit the forest's wet ground. He didn't move anymore.

    "What have you done!?"

Iida ran to her father's side and took Votum from his solidified arms. The shadowy man walked towards her with his knife pointed at Votum.

    "That sword. Hand it over."

The man's voice was eerie and menacing, but Iida tried to drown her fear in fury. With burning rage and a despair, Iida attacked the man with Votum. The man blocked the slash with his knife.

"You're a foolish little girl. I would kill you right now, but I would rather see as your sword takes your pitiful life. Then you shall rot right besides your old man!"

The men who started the fire at Iida's home surrounded her and the shadowy man. But when Iida pushed Votum against the shadowy man's blade even harder, it started to glow brightly. The other people backed up. Lightnings sparked around it and it made the shadowy man drop his blade which was burning in his hands.

Tears in her eyes and fire within her throat, Iida fired hatred from Votum towards the shadowy man who screamed in anguish. Then Iida started furiously slashing energy waves at the other people around her and they all fell down burning. She continued to do so until a bolt of lightning hit Votum and it exploded. In that exact moment, Iida's planeswalker spark ignited and she warped between the planes with Votum's shards.

Darkness was all around her. She felt like as if she's falling into an endless abyss. Then she woke up to the sound of ocean waves. Everything was blurry at first, but then she sees a seagull on a rock right before her. Iida looks around her and she only saw water everywhere. She was on a rocky island in the middle of an ocean.

Then she noticed the scars on her hands and body. She didn't remember how she got them. Everywhere hurted. Then she saw Votum right next to her, which had broken into shards. This time they weren't as small.

Iida started to feel dizzy. She wondered how long she had been laying here. Her vision started to darken. Even though a ship was sailing towards the island, she couldn't do anything else except fall unconscious.

A few people sailed to the island with a boat. They picked up Iida and the shards around her. They started sailing back to the ship afterwards. Iida slightly opened her eyes and only saw the name which was written at the side of the ship:

    "Blade of Seas."

    Then she fell unconscious again.
