    Pershek looks around, confused. Where was he? How did this happen? WHY DID HE TRUST THAT RING?  He looks at the seven, wondering who they are. Well, he'll probably find out soon enough. He's got more important questions to ask. "What do you mean, 'the rings have met their purpose?' Why have you brought us here?"
  • Senja looks around. Well, that was fun. She eyes the council and the others warily, prepared to make her move should any of them do anything less than helpful.
  • *notices the other Viashino*
    *flicks tail in an intrigued manner*
  • I ask the researchers if there is any way to replicate the properties of the ring in an expedient matter

    "Mr. Falme, your concern is valid and warranted. We are known as The Council of Seven, and we are a 'secret society' that represents the planes still in existence..."

    ..."Well, so much for the 'secret' part..."

    "As I was saying. We represent the planes still to be known, and our goals are all similar, even to yours. We want, no we need, to figure out the Planar Gates and the cause of the Purge."

    "Pershek, as for the purpose being fulfilled, well it's simple really. The rings brought you to us."

    As you are standing there, nobody in the room looks particularly threatening. Maybe except for a Viashino on the defensive (Falme).

    "I understand that you will all have more questions, but I must implore that we give the remaining ring holders a chance to show. Through that door (gesturing), is a simple banquet hall with refreshments and sleeping quarters. Feel free to mingle and partake for the night. We will reconvene in the morning..."

    Now is the chance for you all here to get to know one another, talk among'st yourselves and make introductions.

    @MonkeyPirate2002 From what your researchers can tell you, they are quite surprised that this ring even exists. They have never seen, nor heard of a Planar Gate in such a small form, replication is nigh impossible.

    @KorandAngels @Blazin_Biscuit will you be joining us?
  • Hmm

    I ask them if there are any means of bringing... escorts along with myself using the planar ring.
  • @MonkeyPirate2002 The researchers are unsure and wary. The possibility of you or a companion getting splintched between two planes is a chance. If you want to attempt bringing a companion, I will give you options:
    1) Create a nonlegend creature, one that might survive the portal.
    2) Create a spell that might help transfer you and your companion.
    3) Do nothing...hope for the best.
    All of these options must fit within my guidelines of crafting (2cmc atm).
  • I will attempt to bring a personal guard with me for the journey.

  • I think that I will be the first to enter the banquet hall.  Mind giving a description of the contents?
  • Does this work? I'm trying to post from my phone.

  • Aiko buckled herself as she clutched her stomach. A teleportation process for the first time was indeed nauseating for a common individual. Luckily nothing came out from her mouth.

    "Hold on, what the..." The thief muttered as she was watching her surroundings. Several other people of different races who were standing around her that were seemingly just teleported by some unknown forces too were also tensed while holding their respective weapons.

    Then there were another group of seemingly noble individuals who were standing upstairs too.

    'Welp, sometimes I really hate my stupid recklessness...' Aiko sighed as she clutched her forehead.
  • @DrakeGladis, does what work? All I see is text, so if posting a card, it's a no-go... The banquet room has a good sized table surrounded with a dozen chairs, and plenty of food varietal. Some simple shelving with deco, and some statues about. There are doors that seemingly enter into bed chambers, pretty self explantory.
  • Thanks. I was just trying to see if texts from my phone work, I've haven't tried anything else. Since no one else is following me, I think I'll go in by myself.I'm going to go find the best bedroom place my weapon in it and then if someone takes it kill them,' and then I'm going to go eat.
  • Having a lot of good food is rare the swamp
  • Falme sheathes his sword and follows the strange lizard man into the room.

    @Aggroman15 @SpellPiper2213 @Bowler218 @DrakeGladis @Fallen_Lord_Vulganos

    Morning has come. As the ones from the night before rouse out of bed and into the banquet hall, you notice two new people. One who looks like quite a regal woman, and the other who seems to be her bodyguard. The noble lady herself looks to be a little worse for wear.

    As you all gather round the table for the morning spread. You make light conversation, and Lady Neige (@MonkeyPirate2002) explains how she attempted to bring an escort with her through the ring. Though it worked, she got splintched in the process, suffering 1hp damage.

    Some short time later the door to the councel chamber opens up and you see a shortly man... "The council is ready for you, when you are."

    Finishing up your meal, you enter the chamber, and The Council of Seven are standing upon their dais, chatting among themselves. They turn to you and start getting right into details.

    "Well, it seems as if two of our ring recipients aren't gonna make it, oh well, we have no time to waste."

    ... "Now, naturally you're all a little confused as to why we brought you here, and we assume some of you may have figured it out on your own, to an extent. We are in crisis, the Planar Gates are knowingly down, and we need to figure out how to get them restarted."

    "You, through our research, have shown great interest into the Gates, and Purge, plus you're quite capable. We are wanting to put you a special assignment."

    "One of our outposts has found something, a beacon of sorts, buried in Duegar ruins (more on that later). We are asking that you join one of our SPIRIT operatives on this assignment, and investigate the outpost and beacon."

    Duegar - An ancient, extinct race. Technologically advanced. Believed to be the creators of the Planar Gates.

    SPIRIT - Special Planar Investigative Recon Intelligence Team
  • "Before I join your team, I have to know where your allegiances lay. What do you really want from us?"
  • "Agreed.  I am not so willing as to set aside my kingdom for mere investigations.  What will we receive for our cooperation?"
  • What is in it for me?
  • edited May 2020
    "Our allegiances lie with no one, and everyone. As we stated before, we represent all planes, all races. We work for the greater good of all kind. Our most singular purpose is the restoration of the Planar Gates. With the addition of the Purge investigation."

    "As for reciprocation, how about free trade, planar commerce, and travel. Most of you know nothing of what it was like before the Purge. We could freely travel and trade between the planes, expanding our economies and livelihoods. Some planes hold resources that others critically need, and have no access."

    "Who knows, we might find Planar Gates that lead to unknown planes, or planes thought to have been destroyed."

    "So, this is not a question about what we can do for you. But, a question of what you will to do for the betterment of all kind."

  • @DrakeGladis nothing is really in front of you, except the Council and maybe the other ring bearers.
  • "Fine, I'll help you."
  • I suppose I could be bothered to help out a little. After all, if what you say is true, that would definitely bring a bit more value. I want you to realize however, if I ever feel like you are deceiving me or taking advantage of me in a manner not agreed upon you will face consequences.

    "Hmm, I suppose multiplanar travel is an enticing gift, and achieving enlightenment on the Purge itself will help to know what dangers lie in the future, yet I am not so foolish as to isolate myself from my kingdom for a mere... camaraderie."

    @spookoops
    Aiko still pinched the bridge of her nose and narrowed her eyes from conversation about the greatness of the planar gates and all of their glory.

    "Okay... but I, uh I mean we the 'lucky' adventurers here also would get something out from this right? I mean about something more tangible stuffs, not just promises about free trading and... stuffs. This isn't just a simple job after all." The thief folded her arms and frowned.

    // Very specific

    "If materialistic and monetary value is what you're after, so be it. We are not a governing body, we have no rules or laws to follow, or break."

    ..."We work on the mindset of 'finders-keepers' so to speak. If by chance that you do come across something of value, if it is not related to the Planar Gates, it's yours, no questions asked."

    "But, you may have to deal the governing bodies that you do procure these items from..."
  • @spookoops ;
    "I'm still skeptic about this but... okay, I just wish that the rewards are worth more than the troubles." Aiko shrugged.

    And she winced from a sudden spike of pain that lanced inside of her head. Memories of the death of her fellow orphans that were died in a night during a robbery into a local rich but corrupt noble that were perpetuated by a close friend of hers.

    '... you bring nothing but pain and death for the others around you...'
    '... we can't run forever from those soldiers...'
    '... go away, save yourself, kiddo, this is solely my burden...'
    '... no, Jack!'

    But Aiko only gritted her teeth and steeled herself.

    "Curse this..." She muttered to practically no one other than herself.
  • "I must ask, is the ring perchance a two-way gate?  I must not stray from my kingdom for much longer.  I will take up your offer only if I can maintain my grasp on my land."
  • "Now I do say that is a fair point."
