@Damnation Yes. , Deathbringer Regent, Devastation Giant, Mageta the Lion, and Myojin of Cleansing Fire can all Duneblast themselves, and Reiver Demon, Sunblast Angel, and Hythonia the Cruel are pretty close.

@Corwinnn Close the discussion, please.

After approximately one week and a bunch of awesome entries, we have a winner: Legendxp's Rot-Root Behemoth. With a few drawbacks to counterbalance a giant creature, it's well balanced and fun, with well-chosen art. Thank you all for entering, and b…

@Corwinnn Does the contest end today? Anyway, I DID technically make a 3/3 red and green vanilla Beast. Just like I promised. http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/gruul-aristocrat-4#.VXIE9WRViko http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/gruulite-consumed?list=user#.VXI…

@VeteranProwler Is your Wingman in the command zone with the Commander, or is it shuffled into the deck? Is it conferred any special properties (is there Wingman Damage, can you recast it for more, etc.)?
-
@VeteranProwler Do you have any more clarifications about Wingman? Where does the Wingman go? Is it assigned any special properties, like Commanders are? How is Wingman different from EDH, essentially?

@EagleXS I may have deleted them. I can come up with something else, though. http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/blade-of-azor?list=user#.VW58EmRViko http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/dimir-aristocrat-3#.VW58JWRVikp

@Legendxp That was my first thought, too! Anyway, I decided to go with two of the Fiend Folio's greatest hits: the Flumph and the Flail Snail. (I couldn't find art for the Wolf-In-Sheep's-Clothing, a carnivorous stump with tentacles and eyestalks wi…

Each of the societies have a unique set of deities, but as with all religions, they're somewhat connected to each other; they all have a sky deity, for example. It could be interesting to set it as a conflict between different aspects of the same go…

@IlignosBlock So is the entire plane Simic colored? It would make sense, since it's created entirely from what mana Molkin had on hand and could manipulate; however, this doesn't create a very healthy block, since you'll only have two colors to work…
-
@Damnation I didn't explain that particularly well. What I mean by that is that cards like Bone Splinters don't have a drawback (no corners cut); they just have a non-mana cost. I'm looking for cards that have distinct drawbacks (like Char), not for…

@Corwinnn (I'm making a vanilla 3/3 for RG, and there's nothing you can do to stop me.) Muahahahahahahahaha.
-
@Corwinnn So the choices are Boros, Gruul, and Dimir, correct? Of those three, I like Dimir, Boros, and Gruul, in that order. It's your challenge, though.

I'm not entirely sure this counts, but it does have some interesting ETB properties. http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/merfolk-of-the-shining-spray?list=user#.VWikBmRViko http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/merfolk-of-the-deadly-depths-1?list=user#.VWikpGRViko

No, you can have it enter the battlefield with some number of counters on it, same as a Planeswalker (but with +1/+1s instead of loyalty).
-
This is a pretty tribal card, so unless Rat/Insect/Mutant/Horror tribal is a big thing in your set (which I doubt), it's not going to be as relevant as it could be. Anyway, it's a card that I like that's old. http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/subterranea…

@Noobplayzgames But I thought that the whole Jura effect was the point?
-
Krenana's ability is usable at will, since the you can have -1/-1 counters on a creature in excess of its toughness. It's a cool idea, but I would recommend having it work on the basis of adding and removing +1/+1 counters.

This doesn't EXACTLY fit the second criteria, since it can be hardcast, but there are also two ways to cheat it into play. (Keywords in the comments.) http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/thranfeller-chimera#.VWHXU2RViko
