I don't mind it, it's design space might be a bit small and a bit broken. Possibly "this creature has as long as it has a -1/-1 counter on it to open design space a little. Here's a dream card: I think I'll make some more, more interesting bats.…

I don't see many issues, except of course you can cause yourself to lose life, so it may be abusable. Maybe 'Cast Duel of Passion only if you were dealt 6 or more combat damage this turn.' or 'Cast Duel of Passion only if you were dealt 6 or damage …

Went a bit off tangent here, keeping the on combat damage trigger and artifact creature type, but changing the effect from damage to card draw.

@brcien I'm not sure a tribal them would fit. A plane based created by imagination would contain a plethora of unique and different creatures, would it not?

Here's an idea. Magic traditionally associates the mind with your hand, so a hand matters theme would make sense- cards that care not just about how large your hand is (mental capacity) but what is in your hand (emotions and subconscious.) Maybe so…
