Nice! Thanks @RayearthIX, and congrats to the other winners and really everyone who participated. I'm on my phone in the process of moving to Germany at the moment, so I'll get back to you with my list in a couple of days.

Thanks @RayearthIX! I fixed the typo on Madoka, and ended up revising Sayaka significantly to simplify things (and Kyubey for consistency with the new Sayaka design).
-
My all time favorite anime @Lujikul. They do such a good job of setting you up and then delivering, layering meaning into things, etc. So many other things I could have done for this contest, but couldn't pass this one up.

Any of these six could belong in either category, but all six really go together in a set, as I think you'll appreciate. And obviously because they're magical girls, they had to transform... Hopefully that's allowed. Warning: May contain oblique s…

I hope everyone has had wonderful holidays! Thanks all of you for your submissions. Some really great stuff here. Without further adieu, your winners: Honorable Mention - Tatyana the Peacekeeper by @Lastjustice! The peaceful mechanic and the nod …

My first win ever! Thank you @Aggroman15! For favorites, let's go with: * Ring of Vanishing * Expansion Plans * Gaea, the Primordial Wild * Reflection of Rabiah * Reality Surge For my honorable mention, I nominate @pjbear2005 for History of Domi…

Sorry to hear about the work situation @sorinjace - that kind of thing is terrible, but I'm sure you'll push through. Sounds like you've got a plan, which is always a good first step. I'd love to do more with the art - boxes, play mats, sleeves, et…
-
All good @HeroKP - I'll go through at judging time and make my list, so edit all you like.
-
I felt pretty good about both Crumbling Empire and Angelic Crusade @sorinjace - they both seem reasonably balanced, though Angelic Crusade might be a bit over costed given all the setup required to really get good mileage out of it. Both of them rat…
-
I felt like it worked really well with the art @CnBCustoms, and while it may be a bit pushed power wise for four mana, I felt like it was close enough to balanced to be within the margin of error. More importantly, leveraging Monarch allowed you to …
-
Always a risk, but you did good work @RayearthIX. Glad you had fun @Ranshi922. You can buy them on Amazon. I think the thing that stood out about your card @IanLowenthal is that it was well composed as a whole package - playable in many formats, …
-
Thanks @bnew07, I appreciate the feedback. I don't necessarily agree with some of it, but I'll definitely be making some adjustments. As an relevant aside, I think one of the key reasons that so many mechanics we see in real sets feel stale and la…

Give it a little time - we're not all on here 24/7 after all.

Merconis Ward and Birth of the Ivory City were my top picks for you @TezzeretofCarmot21. Merconis Ward in particular I felt was all around solid, while Birth of the Ivory City was well designed but slightly conventional. I had some concerns about t…
-
I particularly liked what you were doing with Aether Restriction @pjbear2005, though I did feel like the card as a whole was a bit over tuned.
-
Astronomical Odds and Skyfall both made it to the final round of consideration actually @KalamMekhar, and all of your cards were solid or better in my opinion. You had two tags for innovative mechanics (Astronomical Odds and Statuesque Seacliffs), w…
-
Sorry about that @Fallen_Lord_Vulganos - meant to replace that with a tag for @mtgcardsmith. Congrats on your win!
-
The difference maker for you on the blue cards there @Ranshi922 was that your card felt very slightly over-costed for what it does to me. If you were worried about the cropping on the image, don't be - I thought it was a good framing choice that mad…
-
@murkletins communities aren't about things you have to do, they're about things you want to do. My pleasure!
-
Thanks for participating @fraziel07! You had a several solid cards in there, and Destructive Pyromancy made the cut for final consideration. I look forward to seeing what you do in future contests.
-
Judging is complete! It's been a real treat to see all the creative cards you've developed for this contest, and deciding on the winners was no easy thing. I'd like to congratulate each of you on your work, and thank you for your contributions. But…

Interesting question @Arceus8523. I think one key difference I see is that Steampunk tends to have a distinctively 19th century Victorian sensibility, compared to flintlock fantasy's 17th and 18th century aesthetic with more Napoleonic influences. …
-
That most definitely works @HeroKP - it's all about the theme, and the genre wouldn't be complete if it were only guns. As @Lujikul noted, there was just a hint of this feel on Innistrad, given that its aesthetic is very 17th and 18th century inspir…
-
Thanks for the ping @pjbear2005, I missed this thread entirely, and I'd be happy to participate. Here's my contest for December: Flintlock Fantasy I'll add a section of recommended contests to my own contest header shortly. Edit: Added a plug sec…

I try to make things easy when I can.

And that's time! Judging has begun, and no more entries will be accepted. Please refrain from editing your submissions from here on out. I expect to complete the judging process and announce winners tomorrow evening!
