Consider also if it is a bacteria, virus or parasite, what animals carry it, its infection rate and if it travels through contact, if it's airborne etc. This way, you can have very well planned cards.

Might I suggest you try to create like a fake bio report for each disease not on mtg cardsmith(like symptoms and stuff). It might help create your ideas.
