@theran_baggins You can have non-red if you want. I made this a long time ago and abandoned it.

@FaithsGuide,@twighlight8 Here's how Ride Off Into The Sunset works, super technically. Suppose your commander is on the battlefield. I cast Ride enchanting your commander. It enters the battlefield, but Ride sends it to the command zone. Normally t…

This contest is officially closed for judging. Here are the list of eligible submissions - tell me if there's any mistake. @Lastjustice: Voracious Nightstalker @Corwinnn: Spektra, Regent of the Dead @TenebrisNemo: Aerona, Bane of Myths @spookoops: …

@twighlight8 Couldn't decide whether or not to go to the small text to make room for flavor text, so I just made both versions.
-
As for the actual contest itself:

@Leo_Gelardi LEQ a href= "Card Page" GEQ LEQ img src= "Card Image" width="35%" GEQ LEQ/img GEQ LEQ/a GEQ Here LEQ represents < and GEQ represents >. Can't put those in the actual image text or it thinks it's an image.

Here's @FaithsGuide's Head Clutcher Licid, but revamped.

I'll be sure to make a card for this, but for your second goal of 40 lands, I will refer you to my recently-judged dual lands circuit challenge, which has some really outstanding submissions. http://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/4795/dual-lands…

But it's absurd that the type is Hound and not Dog. Cat is a creature type.
-
Also how did no one do Dogs for this?

This specimen from a month or two ago is one that just feels so broken, but is totally fine in the larger context of the game, such as Steel Leaf Champion or Biogenic Ooze. Edit: it's weirdly not displaying Halle and I don't know why. If it still i…

Here's my old card: Also, @KorandAngels btw you can't add snow mana - mana added from a snow source is inherently snow. A cost including snow mana can be paid with any mana of any time from a snow source.
-
@theran_baggins The idea was that both lands produce mana that is oriented towards a particular tribe. Yours was good too, and Unclaimed Territory had what I felt was better execution.
-
@Lastjustice: At this point I recognize that I won't convince you, so I won't bother countering your points - I think I did a fine job explaining why your cycle didn't win the contest, though. You've clearly made a land cycle you're proud of, and I …

I made this awhile ago, but I might make a new card for the purposes of this contest.
-
I'm a big fan of challenges with simple, easy requirements that still have a lot of complexity. I would try to submit a card in any of the example challenges you have.
-
I'm glad this contest is happening for reals! We're halfway done, everyone. So far, we have the very triple-black-feeling number of 13 submissions: @Lastjustice: Voracious Nightstalker @Corwinnn: Spektra, Regent of the Dead @TenebrisNemo: Aerona, Ba…

@biased_dice: For a long time, it always infuritated me how you needed to have art submitted first. Often there wasn't good art on the Internet anyway! So I used the same medium gray color swatch on all of my cards. Fast forward to when I learned yo…

I might make more. I hope it's OK that I used mtg.design.

One entry max @Xero0

@Lastjustice: The point is that there's no disadvantage to slotting 8 of these into every deck of a color, and 16 in a two-color deck. There's no thought when deckbuilding since it's better than a basic land in every scenario. If every nonbasic land…

Congratulations everyone. Don't forget to check out my current triple-black challenge as well. (http://forums.mtgcardsmith.com/discussion/4837/triple-black-challenge#latest)

Honorable Mentions (in no particular order) HM. @Tommia: Loser duals - 1/4 Circuit Points This is a great cycle. In a format such as modern with fetch lands and shock lands, it won't be hard to enable it, but as your first land play, it's fine (unl…

The Judging It's finally happening, people. Before I get into the nuts and bolts, I do want to congratulate everyone who participated for giving me so many fantastic cards - there are an absurd number of honorable mentions, and that's not even inclu…

Sorry for the delay @Lastjustice - I know the rankings and am almost done with the feedback/writeups. Also believe it or not I have a life.
-
All I have to say is that historically, lower-costed cascade cards tend to be more powerful because they give you more control over what you hit. See Modern Living End decks. Point being, raising the cost will make it more balanced, not less so.
-
@FaithsGuide Thanks so much for making my card! I love it. While it might be a bit overpowered, nothing that can't be fixed with a bit of mana cost tweaking.
-
You know you want to choose the first one just on the basis of the art.
-
So I was almost done judging this contest - I had written feedback and rankings for everyone and was just putting images in my post when I forgot to hit Save Draft and my entire thing was deleted. I apologize for any delays/exasperated tone this cau…

Thanks @Xero0 - I will grade your submission. The consensus re grading style is that most people don't care haha but I think 1 came out with the most support, so I'm doing that. If a specific person wants more detailed feedback then I'm happy to do…
