@Lujikul: I do hope you're right. Arena's Curious Obsession (sorry) with best of 1 seems to be a response to the success of the likes of Hearthstone, although it seems an odd tactic considering they barely share a target audience. And yes, as you …

Sorry but I have to vent out all the accumulated salt from playing against Golgari for the 57,896th time on Arena. I feel like this gives Foegod a good challenge.

@agar: Don't worry! Even I am not an expert at formatting MtG cards. Whenever I make a card, I think of the most similar card in the actual game. I look at how it is worded and word mine based on that. For example, I recently wanted to create a card…

Neat! Thanks for choosing Astik! (An aside: I couldn't help but notice that the five characters are perfectly colour-balanced!)
-
Decided to throw my hat in the ring! Here is my adventurer: He has a -1/-1 counter theme, with a snake tribal subtheme. I'll post a little story piece on him soon. Here are his signatures: Let me know if there's any change I must make.

Decided to go for the low-hanging fruit. This one's inspired by Metronome. Or Izzet?

My most prized possession is a foil Teferi I pulled from a fatpack.

@saveria201: wooooooowwwww, I won?!?!?!?! Really sorry for not getting back to you. Bogged down with work. Yes, add premium to my account. Also fave these: https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/enslime https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/collect-dues https://mtg…

@Ranshi922: I agree with you in principle, I just meant there should be clear lines. I'm talking about Shaka Zulu vs Idi Amin. One, as you mentioned, had his controversial moments, but is an otherwise respected figure, respected enough to have an ai…

@sorinjace: no I had no issues with your Gandhi whatsoever, it was well made

Asia: A card for Sir Mokshagundam Vishweshwarayya (full name did not fit in the card!). Considered the Father of Engineers in India. Among other things, he shifted entire states to hydroelectric power, and was instrumental in city planning, includin…

While this is irrelevant for EDH, it is a decent effect in constructed and even limited, where 3-4 copies of the same creatures are often present in a deck. It is also devastating against token decks and token generators, and can shut down the likes…

Entry 2, using phalanx by @Jonteman93. Phantom Lancer was the first thing I thought of when I saw the phalanx mechanic.

Did a complete U-turn and went with Fear of quality, since it sounds so much better. I'll just pretend the old fear doesn't exist. This card is basically a whole bunch of references, MtG and otherwise, thrown together. When I saw Fear of, the first …
-
@Lastjustice: I totally agree with you that it can't be Fear. However I feel like Despair conveys loathing and anguish rather than fear. Perhaps we should call it Dread of (quality) or Aversion to (quality)? Dread seems the best here. Edit: how abo…

Started playing: Very recently. Picked up the game when Eldritch Moon was about to be released. First FNM: Triple Amonkhet. I was a control/grindy deck player stuck in aggro hell. First pre-release: Hour of Devastation. Did well with a beatdown ag…

@pjbear2005: I don't think Yahenni is a 'he'.

Congratulations to all winners! Disappointed that I couldn't do well enough, but maybe next time. @ChainsawXIV: did any of my cards even come close to making the cut? I didn't expect any to, but just asking.

Entry 3. "And so they formed the third kingdom. Balanced and unflawed by purity or obligation." — John Milton.

1st entry. All the big scary monster really wanted was a gift. 2nd entry, depicting some kind sneks. I know snakes aren't necessarily evil, but most cultures traditionally view them as such.

Gifts are a great way to avoid being killed!

Deleting my earlier comment and putting all five submissions here:

Bump this?

@Corwinnn: too much face blocking? You know the solution, right? Play Root Snare! Tell those attackers to get the Fog outta your face!

Since blue has an artifact matters subtheme, and green has a ramp subtheme, perhaps we could have a tap/untap target permanent theme for Simic? Works well with both mana rocks and mana dorks. Some kind of turbo ramp.

KalamMekhar#47239 Although my timezone might be really inconvenient for most cardsmiths (around 9-12 hours difference from the US). Anyone else from Asia/Pacific?

I'll submit some stuff soon, but I just had a question: what are the themes for this set? Masters sets need to have a few general themes, or draft archetypes, in order to be good for limited. For instance, based on whatever little I've seen of Ultim…

All entries now in a different comment.

I'm somewhat disappointed that this will be the last of the Masters sets (according to the WotC announcement). They were not bad, and if they are basing this decision off the sales of Iconic Masters and Masters 25, then they should understand that s…

@Corwinnn: the new Niv-Mizzet regularly produces such wins for me on Arena. I've lost a grand total of 2 games in which I got to untap with him (I've lost a whole bunch where I didn't even live to 6 mana, though...)
