@10114209 So, something a bit like the bestow mechanic that gets applied to other cards (not much like it, to be honest, but you know what I mean)? Would the card-turned-into-an-enchantment do something based on its own abilities as an aura, or woul…

Since you've posted the in-account link (which won't work for anybody other than you) then here's link for everybody: https://mtgcardsmith.com/user/10114209/sets/52728 On the mechanic, a few questions: - Is the idea that you exile a card face dow…

@The-DM To quote the text at the top: I will award faves to the top three cards designed each month, then at the very end of the year... 1st place: 10 favorites and a follow 2nd place: 8 favorites and a follow 3rd place: 5 favorites and a follow 4t…

Are old cards allowed, or is the idea for us to be creating new things only? Also, is there any sort of deadline or will you just choose to judge when you feel like there aren't many entries coming in any more?
-
Perhaps unsurprisingly, it turned out that judging the custom frame category was a lot more difficult than the real frames. There were a lot of very good entries, and several cards entered that I felt were first-place material. Alas, there can be on…

So, judging time. I've decided to do the two categories in separate comments so that I can look like I'm doing something while I try to figure out what I think of all of the custom entries. The real-frame entries are first. To begin, an honourabl…

@IonStorm66n Ah, sure. I hadn't started judging yet anyway and I'd honestly kind of expected something like this to happen.
-
This is now closed for judging. I'll figure out and post the results and winners at some point in the near future (probably in the next day or so). Thanks for your entries, everybody!
-
@sorinjace Just a quick reminder that we've passed the deadline and that this could probably do with judging when you've got the time.
-
@LordTachanka123 Gaining control of something for however many turns just isn't a good idea. It creates numerous memory issues (trying to remember how many turns are left etc.) and also poses an issue in that the mechanic is completely useless again…

@SNAPcreator7 The idea is that your tribe is supposed to be a tribe of your own creation rather than an existing guild, shard, faction or whatever else from MTG's history, so yes.
-
@The-DM For the sake of explaining the "favorites prize" thing, there is no way to give more than one favorite to a card. Giving a number of favorites as a prize refers to giving a favorite to each of that many cards chosen by the prize winner.
-
There's probably about a day to go until I start judging this, so anybody planning on making any last-minute entries should make them now.
-
@LordTachanka123 Do you think that we'd be able to represent AI with preexisting creature types like Construct? It tends to be worth steering away from making new creature types if existing ones will do the job. @The-DM Not sure how I feel about We…
-
@LordTachanka123 So does that mean that you should currently be trying to do a planning stage or not? Don't worry if you aren't the best set-maker in the world, that's why working with the rest of the community to get other people's contributions an…
-
@LordTachanka123 If your goal is to actually create or community-create a proper set, even if it's just a small one, then I'd recommend that you do some proper planning of things like mechanics, themes and flavor before you start making cards, rathe…
-
@LordTachanka123 You suggested an anti-enchantment theme, but that feels wrong. Enchantments are by no means anti-tech, and while artifacts will obviously take precedence over enchantments in a future-tech set, enchantments can easily be used to sho…

@Liwg I'll talk about both of your cards. First up, Jazzy Songbird: - It's a very nice take on the Birds of Paradise space and ability, and it seems like a good decision to use the color-centric converge mechanic for it. The fact that it can actua…
-
@Liwg Should we only discuss the mechanics, or should we also be critiquing the cards on which they're being entered? Also, do we have to enter them on cards or can we also enter mechanics in text form?
-
@Grimlock134 Log in, then press your username in the top right corner. Then press the "Set" button (it should be in a row along with "Home", "Cards", "My Favorites" and "Profile") to access the sets (or set, in this case) that you've created so far.…

[This first bit between the lines was originally written as a question on Ranshi's thing for @LordTachanka123 . I figured it'd be easier to port this here than rewrite something, so it might be a little disjointed] __________________________________…

@Mir-151414 Sure, go ahead.

@boy_of_destiny Yes, we can see it. Multiple times. If you've pressed post comment and you can see it, so can everyone else unless something really crazy's going on with the forums.
-
@boy_of_destiny I'd recommend that you follow these steps. I'm pretty sure that they don't work on mobile, in case you're using that: 1) Press the button that looks like </> at the top of the comment box. Everything you've typed so far for y…

@joemamajoe The card is confusing and far too powerful. The salution keyword seems ridiculous due to buffing your whole board, refers to multiple other keywords (keywords should never refer to other keywords if at all possible) and is clearly far to…
-
@SNAPcreator7 Okay, and the images thing is understandable, but if you don't know the artist then please just leave the generic "Unknown" in the box. Putting in something other than that might confuse people. I haven't got the time to write up some…
-
@SNAPcreator7 Are you looking for feedback or anything, or do you just want people to see it? Also, is there anything we should know about the set? Is it supposed to be an accurate emulation of a real set (themes, realistic balance, thought-out des…

@Fantastickill7 Yep, they have. The current featured card is supposed to show it, and there's also a little article on it here: https://mtgcardsmith.com/blog/you-get-a-card-you-get-a-card-you-all-get-

@LordTachanka123 If a thread's obviously finished with (such as a contest where the judging has been done like this, or something where nobody's commented in a long time in general) then you really shouldn't post anything there. The only effect is c…
