@MonkeyPirate2002 I feel as though you could probably edit the commander to make it better because it currently needs a load of mana to do anything much. On the other hand, be careful with that final mode.
-
@MonkeyPirate2002 That's what I get for posting cards so late in the day. Thanks. I've edited the comment to state that it doesn't count as an entry.
-
EDIT: It turns out that I forgot to read the rules, so this doesn't count as an entry. Just ignore it and use it a demonstration of what not to do for this contest.
-
In the name of bad ideas, references and neat artwork! Not so much in the name of logical entries, but hey.
-
@ThePhantomJoker I'll take my five on anything recent-ish and decent-ish to your eyes.
-
@sorinjace ARGH! Hellions would have been such a good tribe for this with all of their widespread damage effects! I'll admit that there aren't many Hellions, though, so you'd probably end up feeding it a changeling most of the time.
-
@Je_Suis_Oluwa Thanks for the feedback, it's always welcome. In a certain irony this originally lacked the tap ability, but I bought it in after deciding that I wanted the card to give an element of choice to deciding to convoke with two creatures. …
-
I'll admit a certain amount of trepidation relating to whether this truly fits with its tribe, but giants can be partially defined by being big creatures in terms of toughness that are hard to sweep out with the 1-damage plinks this provides, so wha…

@MonkeyPirate2002 I just tried it out and it isn't working for me either. It gives an error reading "No image file detected at [address]".
-
@madstokie I'll take favourites on https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/unity-charm and https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/quolo-foulfire-zealot. Thanks for the contest, I'll check out the new one when I've got time.

Ach! By the power of extremely last-minute entries, I've got a thing!
-
@Dom_Rocks Aye, but cards that exclusively give the player hexproof are traditionally limited to white in cards such as Leyline of Sanctity and Aegis of the Gods and besides, Lazotep Plating lacks the permanency of its white brethren. Getting on to…
-
@Dom_Rocks I hate to play a repetitive tune, but the emblem of this planeswalker's just plain old bad. Having hexproof is positive, but it only matters against certain decks and if those decks haven't killed you by the time you've got that emblem, t…
-
@Dom_Rocks My point was more focused on how it's a very bad effect (for an emblem). It's a nice effect, but it's also an effect that I can replicate relatively well with a red card that costs three mana:
-
@Dom_Rocks The fact that other walkers are good doesn't work in balancing-out like that. Sometimes planeswalkers are somewhat underpowered, but party-Jacing for four turns to get an emblem that reads "You get to rummage ONE WHOLE card every turn AFT…
-
@Dom_Rocks Not really related to the set, but it might be worth pointing out that that emblem is REALLY underpowered for a 'walker emblem.
-
You know, I should probably post this here.
-
@ThePhantomJoker "Right, now I hold priority so that I can go and get a drink. Really, really slowly."
-
@EnvyReaper In other words, you've rolled my current Colonisers faction.
-
@SammySammyson I might as well give some feedback on it, so here goes. The idea that it's balanced because it takes away a land in the long run isn't a good one. To give an example that doesn't fit perfectly but might work, City of Traitors sees som…
-
@SammySammyson Yeah, Bant Canyon's the flip-side of Barren Canyon. You have to play it in your deck as Barren Canyon and it only becomes Bant Canyon when you pay the cost to transform it.
-
This isn't my work in any way (I wasn't involved in making it), but it's probably worth seeing. Think of it as a "this is what we've got to aim for" sort of thing: http://www.planesculptors.net/set/dreamscape
-
@EnvyReaper But on the other hand, it means that it'll take forever and a day to actually get through all of the rounds. I'm against it, in other words.
-
@MonkeyPirate2002 This is going to be a silly question that's entirely unrelated to the contest, but how do you do bullet points in .design? I haven't found a way to do so, though admittedly I've only made half-a-dozen or so cards with a choose effe…
-
Coming with my deepest apologies for being lazy and taking so long, I've got my entry more-or-less done (three cards left to go that I've created the basis of, but still need to iron out in terms of fine points and one card that I've made two versio…
-
This one probably counts as a bomb, though it requires a little setup to work to its full potential.
-
I'd say that counterspells don't count as removal, as they require you to have the mana at the right moment and limit you as a result. If you're super-determined to keep cards in the BREAD system, I guess they count as an exceptionally low form of r…
-
@Death_Methods A bomb refers to a card such as, for example, Grave Titan. A bomb such as Grave Titan does very big things and has the potential to win the game all by itself if left unchecked and / or unremoved, especially in limited. Another, mo…
-
@ThePhantomJoker The reason for the question about un-sets was because the only card in the game that cares about rarity is an extremely un-set-y un-set card called Rare-B-Gone. The main reason for that is that it would be ridiculous if you had to t…
-
I have two questions. The first is "Is this an un-set contest?". The second is "What ruling are we using on cards that have been printed at multiple different rarities?" The second one's pretty minor, but hey. It could matter.
