Reworded to be easier to understand: Whenever you lose life, if an opponent lost life this turn, you may discard your hand. If you do, draw a card for each card discarded this way.

Here's another idea for Dive, adapted from yours @feralitator: Obviously it isn't worded the best. Another Example but for a creature. Again, the wording will need to be adjusted.

Maybe this will help... Whenever a creature attacks, that creature's controller gains life equal to the number of creatures they have. If you gained 4 or more life this way, you lose the game.
