@Lujikul , Drakes as a unique creature type is pretty exclusive to MtG. If we went searching for Drake art, we're all going to end up making Dragons and calling them Drakes.
-
Yay! @Corwinnn , I'll take my faves on whichever of my recent cards you'd like to leave them on.

Here's my submission. This is Arcanis, a powerful Dominarian wizard on a quest to learn secret knowledge and become the most wizardy wizard who ever did wizard. He succeeded, but at this point in his story he's still got his Humanity left, and hasn'…

@TheFriendlyGeek , the absolute maximum number of words a haiku can have is 17. You can't make a haiku with 20 words until someone invents negative syllables.
-
Eye of the Tiger is all about succeeding despite all the obstacles of modern society, relying on primal, inherent personal strength. It is also about violent tigers. This card favors the latter elements.
-
@ASubtleGhost , it's probably not a big deal. You'll have a hard time finding other art for a Hippo Angel, I imagine. But Questing Phelddagrif is a classic card with very recognizable art, especially for old-school Commander players.
-
@ASubtleGhost , That, my friend, is a Phelddagrif. Also, I spent hours looking for good art to make a Zombie Oyster, but I was unable to find anything suitable. Alas.
-
I too have a fairly obvious favorite animal.
-
@Lujikul , When in doubt try comics.

What's scarier than a trip to the dentist? A trip to a goblin dentist!

I feel like providing card commentary on some of these because I see that there are some issues, but I don't think that I want to wade into the mess that would be explaining why a deliberately confusing card doesn't work in the way that it was inten…
-
@Faiths_Guide is your trick just a google reverse image search? Anyway, I've got a cycle of 2-color legends as part of my Gotham set, but it's incomplete. I'm going to get back on that soon. Promise.
-
@unicornsareevil13579 , any card that gives you an alternative win condition is breakable. The upside of this one is that it's an Aura, so in the scale of all things, it's pretty easy to remove. As for your decks, with that blue one, 20 counterspel…

@Rednaxela I should really just assume that all potential infinite combos involve Wandering Fumarole until proven otherwise.
-
@Rednaxela , what kind of infinite combos are you imagining with Crackdown Construct? I mostly just see a bunch of counting that I don't want to do.
-
@modnation675 , please stop giving critiques and feedback in the body of the thread. If the card page isn't present for you to comment there, you can send people DMs instead.

Here is my submission. I was sorely tempted to make a colorless planeswalker just because @Lujikul said not to, but I instead decided to go with one with just a little Eldrazi influence.
-
@KrampisZman So your opening hand has two Forests, Channel, Ashnod's Altar, Myr Battlesphere, and Cogwork Assembler? I believe Evan Erwin refers to that sort of scenario as "Magical Christmas Land".

Wowzers, that Aetherborn is remarkably good for a black two-drop.
-
@ShadowKnight1224 A variation on Prowess is definitely something I could see black doing and green not doing. Indeed, it makes sense that a black mage would want to maximize the power of his or her spells wherever possible.
-
@ShadowKnight1224 , @KJMartin Thanks for tagging me in on this. This was a fun read. The first thing I think is a quick acknowledgement of where artifacts and enchantments fall in the color pie. The short version is "everywhere", because both card…
-
@DragonFaceEater @Animist Yeah, that's some pretty restrictive flavor text. I imagine that for a flavor text challenge to be popular, you'd have some text that was short and could be interpreted different ways. Otherwise people won't get inspired, a…

Thanks @Ender ! You can check out my submissions from my profile page, and just favorite whichever cards you like most. http://mtgcardsmith.com/user/Platypusburger

I have a Batman-based project that I had been working on. It draws mostly from comics, but I do have two cards based on the Abramovici twins from the Arkham games. Context: In this set, Henchman creatures get benefits if you control Crimelords, s…
-
@DragonFaceEater , I actually have a deck that runs four copies of both of those, since they synergize so well. It's quite fun when you're in the mood to just turn things sideways and slap your opponent silly.

Okay, the deadline has come, so it's time for me to make some decisions with my life! First, the award for best original planeswalker goes to... (drumroll)... @AustinSmith , for Garruk, Darkness Consumed! There were a surprising number of Garruk…

Three more days until this contest concludes! @TastyCheez , clearly I'm refering to the terrors of the night, and nothing silly like ponies. That would just be nonsense. @Flatfish , Berrim was an alias that Jace used during his first Planeswalk to…

@Corwinnn, some things go bump in the night. The things that go bromp in the night are much less threatening.
