I also looked over the humanoid tribes - creatures which are basically the same shape as people and also might be allies of Humans, and I found 16: Human Elf Goblin Merfolk Faerie Minotaur Dwarf Kithkin Vedalken Cephalid Orc Kor Ouphe Gnome Kobold …

I was looking at jobs/professions for humanoid characters and there are 30 of them which are currently supported within tournament-legal sets: Supported Jobs/Professions in MtG, in order of popularity (30): Wizard Warrior Soldier Cleric Shaman K…

If we are to do the three-set block format, I propose the following breakdowns: 4 small sets, 121 cards each: 41 commons 41 uncommons 35 rares 4 mythics 2 large sets, 258 cards each 86 commons 86 uncommons 76 rares 10 mythics So it would go L…

50 or even 100 cards is a very makable goal.
-
The next step is to find out just how many of us are willing to play. Then assign color pairs or triples, depending on which block we wish to do first. (Actually I'm getting ahead of myself since we have not decided on the actual color themes) The…

Okay that's great progress fellows. @Ranshi has the idea of two blocks: One is guilds and the other one is the three-color groups. What a marvelous idea! I will second that! Each block will have an abundance of complimentary color cards. Let us …

@Fallen_Lord_Vulganos great concept and art! The third text box is too much. I would suggest "UB: exile the top card of target graveyard. Use this ability only once per turn as a sorcery." And maybe start it at 0/1 and allow it to grow like a Lhurg…

@shadow123 it seems to me that in some formats the only way to rid the board of this card is with artifact creatures. And it’s equipment so it’s repeatable. Annihilator 8 is unheard of. Even annihilator 3 is ungodly powerful. I would say despite…

That said, I would like to focus on red cards. I would like to do goblins orcs and dwarfs. I would also like to do humans, but humans come in every color. I would also like to make a lot of green / temur but it appears that green is already quite …

1) the set symbol suggestion (prior to Teacup) is brilliant. Too bad we can’t figure out how to get that added to nonpremium memberships. 2) a regular block (big/small/small) is in the neighborhood of 600 cards. Therefore a 1,000 card set would be …

31 with 19 comments - a real team effort And it’s by far not my best card by any metric - I just know I have made much better cards!

Thank you Tomigon. I just haven’t seen anything that’s perfect (for me) yet. And I don’t have any ideas about what might be.
-
@flamelordytheking It looks good to me. 6 for a 5/5 and maybe a lot more. You might consider changing the border to gold-artifact. And the cmc might look better with balanced mana symbols: 4WU or 2WWUU.

These are all so wonderful. What great work all the way through everyone. You ever feel like... like what you want hasn’t been made up yet? All these wonderful designs and I don’t see anything I want to steal. Yet.

@undead A 2/2 that makes a 4/4 seems too powerful even with the curse. But I did fav it for the flavor text and overalll flavor.

@brcien ooh great commander
-
@herokp yes that’s a marvelous idea. It feels very Dimir.
-
@Fallen_Lord_Vulganos everyone has good ideas Maybe you don't know what your masterpiece is because it's in the future! Syndicate Bogeyman seems very strong, but only a little stronger than some of the white enchantments that exile stuff for a tim…

@bnew what a great picture This is similar to the surveil mechanic: [surveil 1. (Look at the top card of your library. You may put that card into your graveyard.)]
-
@tenebrisnemo there is some subtle synergy there. It’s also thematically strong because it is banging on the -1/-1 token thing. I think the CMC is right. Should it have {w} in the CMC ya think?
-
@tenebrisnemo I never played with level up cards when they were out. I don’t think I’ve seen one in paper. How do they play?
-
@ranshi I commented on the card but somehow my comment got eaten by Disqus. It’s a brilliant effect in the correct colors. It’s probably too cheap by {2}. Great flavor, great ability. @spellpiper I love the Charge of the Dragon. Very flavorful. It…

Excellent @Daedalus. A creature with such high mana cost in amount and color ought to give a winning effect. It also requires other cards to have maximum effect.
-
@stormbreath that’s wonderful flavor. The art, the concept, the flavor text, - all work so well together.
-
I can help work out the several rarities and colors of cards / number of artifacts / number of lands. Do we make our own representative card?
-
Most of my planeswalkers do that. Not all. But I think for a planeswalker to be good, it needs to make a creature or be a creature.
-
I am familiar enough with the lore to help.
-
@zephyr6606 It looks balanced and fun. It would make a good commander too with the rebound ability.

Thank you @ningyounk and @shadow123 . What great insight.
