Yay, this exists! So the first card I'll submit is for the Enslave mechanic, which is inherently tricky to balance. I figured the best way to go about it would be to attach some hefty drawback to it.
-
I think I prefer to rework Intervention to fit the tribal aspect (especially in light of the criticism received, which I think was very fair).
-
Hmmmm. That is true. I could delete the set I made earlier and make some more tribal specific cards. Good call!
-
@Tomble123 That's a good idea! That said, I already submitted a mechanic on page 1-2 (Intervention), so I don't think I'm allowed to do another one? The way I imagined Intervention fitting Blue/Green is that they both like to cast instants. Blue ha…

I really like @Tomble123 's suggestion! My suggestion for a tribe (and we can narrow my Intervention mechanic to just them) can be Blue/Green. We'll call them The Issirh. The Issirh can be a group of living minds, ethereal beings that have a vaguel…

Given that this is a fan website and we are under no pressure to take sides, let us simply not.
-
@Corwinn Thank you for the clarification!
-
@TrippleBoggey3 Is that a formal rule of the forums?
-
Presumably the plane has great quantities of mana, so you might have to do some tweaking. In Kaladesh, for example, Swamps can be sewers. In Sunya, Plains and Mountains can be desolated wastelands, Swamps and Islands can be murkwater of different de…
-
An interesting idea is to use Wastes for something other than Eldrazi, and have {C} costs represent the native creatures of the plane.
-
Sounds good, but do we have a direction for these cards? Or what hunters are?
-
I generally greatly dislike Commander, but Kynaios and Tiro have revolutionised the format for me. I might actually enjoy a Commander game for once!
-
@touchstone Quite fair! Thank you for the reply!
-
@touchstone I hope I'm not a bother, but I'd like to know if my mechanic/cards are acceptable for the contest. Thank you!
-
Congratulations to all the winners! I am happy beyond words! Thank you for making this contest, @Tomigon, it was interesting and enjoyable and I think the number of entries shows it.
-
Sure, I'll join.
-
Congratulations to the winners!

Thank you! I actually hadn't thought of the similarities with Dash, but now that you mention it, yes, it's like a symmetrical Dash that requires an opponent's permission.
-
Well, firstly, let me announce I've edited the mechanic so that the card returns to your hand at the end of the turn. That should allow you to use flash creatures to block or, if they have haste and a tap ability, to do that in your opponent's turn.…
-
@unicornsareevil13579 Those are good points! However, there's no "fighting" between opponents, priority is passed in order. When you cast a spell with intervention, priority passes to a player in particular (depending on the format/mode you're playi…

For my submissions, I made a common cycle using the custom mechanic "Intervention", each focused around alliances between characters. I think that enriches the narrative beyond an all-out war where everyone's looking after themselves. A ruling abou…

@TheFriendlyGeek All cultures (including Russia's) are equally "fantastic" when it comes to fairy-tales. They may not be the aesthetic/theme you're going for, but the fantasy genre by itself covers literally every fairy-tale and fantastic fiction f…

I got inspired for this contest, so I made a greenless commander. As per a post I saw, Greenless is "Unnatural", so I decided to go for vampire wizards who turned into mist, bent the wills of others and caused death and decay to their enemies. Hope …

Indeed, congratulations to the winners!

I think this is one of those cases where Mark Rosewater would advise you not to go against player expectations. I'd probably make it a prohibitively expensive Equip cost, like Equip {10}, and raise the bonus to +5/+5 or give it Flying (to further …
-
Seems to be missing an equip cost! Otherwise it seems very cheap for what it does. But that's just me. If the equip cost is something like {4}, it could be balanced. Also "its" instead of "it's".

If there's still a spot open, I'd like to join.

Oh. Sorry for the misinformation, everyone.
