My submissions for the cursed treasure:

Just like people currently tend to favourite cards that are already popular and favourited by others, disliking cards would generate a similar effect. We already have "whymtgcardsmith", I don't think we need an alternate way to make fun of others or…
-
All right, made it just in time, I think.
-
Wow, because my name was misspelled, I never realised this was happening until today. This is really unfortunate. I'll have to hurry if I want to get my card in.

What a great contest idea! I'll submit a planeswalker from my Nittaalaq set. 1) The actual planeswalker: 2) The planeswalker as a creature: Bonus: a card that represents his specific subgroup: 3) Planeswalker lore: This one I can illustra…

@Nanosaurus I think the correct wording is "for each Illusion or Dream you control" (as seen in cards like Elvish Archdruid. I'd also point out that Dream is not an official creature type, but Nightmare is. Just saying, in case you want to revise it.

@Gelectrode I think "Active player" instead of "The active player" is perfectly fine, since we see "target player" all the time.
-
@Faiths_Guide I appreciate the feedback! This actually isn't too far from some of the strong Common bears I saw while researching it, but thanks all the same!
-
@Faiths_Guide It is, yes! I deliberately wanted to make sure my Commons were just as strong as the other rarities and generally used rarity to sort out complexity and the effects I wanted to see more or less often, rather than power level. In my se…

I'll join with a bear I made for my Nittaalaq set:
-
No worries! If it works for your metagame, go for it.

@KJMartin Must be a difference in metas. I consider 4 mana "ruin a good chunk of deck strategies" to be overly strong and not tech or niche at all, but rather an auto-include in any deck that won't be hosed by it. But hey, this thread is for feedba…
-
@KJMartin It's a good idea, but it becomes too good at preventing combat tricks, equipment and auras in general, not just vs. infect. It wouldn't be a tech card, it'd be used on every control/combo deck that just wants to hose over a more fighting-t…

@touchstone Rarity is more of a measure of complexity (as per New World Order) and nicheness than power level (they've explicitly said they want to make commons/uncommons that are powerful). As Mark Rosewater explains in the link above, when rarity …
-
@touchstone You don't have to alter the rarity of planeswalkers. As this recent question illustrates, you can keep them at Mythic Rare for the purpose of "how special it seems", while increasing their as-fan (statistical frequency in a booster pack)…
-
I think blocking users in general would be an excellent addition to both the website and the forums.
-
WotC has altered the as-fan of certain cards before, for specific sets; so presumably in this set, the as-fan of planeswalkers is much, much higher than normal.
-
Hey, if you don't mind some feedback on this contest: You're asking us to create at least 50 cards from scratch for a set for normal prizes. That's kind of a lot. I recommend either allowing older sets to enter. Otherwise, I don't think this will be…
-
@Gelectrode: the problem is that Mark Rosewater has mentioned time and again that forcing players to keep track of things should be done as sparingly as possible, because of the limited mindspace people have to keep track of all the different things…
-
@Gelectrode : I strongly recommend you don't force players to undo everything they did in a turn because that sounds like a logistical nightmare.

Almost all your answers can be found in the Mtg Salvation Wiki, 1) No. The game does not actually refer to Phyrexian mana as that, it refers to "Phyrexian mana symbols", that is, they are special mana costs, not actual mana. 2) Here's a video on i…

I've updated my set, the Plane of Nittaalaq. There are a couple of creature types I wanted to add (angel and satyr, primarily), but I think this is a good stopping point. My main hope is that the plane came through in the flavour text, art and mecha…

@RugaQwarrcall @IanLowenthal probably means the fact that Kamigawa used the legendary supertype as though it was a tribal theme, rather than referring to what most people consider as tribal. AKA, "don't go overboard with legendaries like Kamigawa d…

This is my submission for the Issirh. It's based on Lorwyn's "[Adjective] Command" cycle. The cycle was rare, but I feel that by tweaking it to be more niche, it can become an uncommon. This cements the Issirh as a faction that meddles and gets in t…
-
@touchstone I decided to modify Issirh Watchers to tone down its power level, and I will be submitting that for the set.
-
@jchen5012 Well, there's a tiny problem. The reason Phyrexia and the Eldrazi are such big deals is because they can move en masse between planes, which is something planeswalkers cannot do. Pre-mending, there were portals that allowed for the mass t…

@pewnd Oh yeah, you're right! Whoops, I should've noticed that earlier. I'm sure you would've done an admirable job, don't sell yourself short!
