Finally came up with a proper mechanic for the idea I had. I liked the idea of serfs being an oppressed/brainwashed/enslaved class, so I created a mechanic to reflect this.
-
Well, indestructibility until end of turn is now replacing Regeneration for green and black, so a 1/1, 1/2 or 2/1 having {g} or {b} for indestructible until end of turn is within the sort of thing we've seen Regeneration do before (at common, even).…

This was the idea I had: It's very simple and straightforward, but I think it works (especially at common, thanks to New World Order). I also had another idea (for RG as well, coincidentally), let's see if I can turn it into an interesting mechan…

I actually had some ideas for this contest, but they haven't gelled yet. They all feel pretty straightforward and uninspired, so I've been mulling over them to see if I can give them an interesting twist.

This was actually the first card I made in MtGCardsmith! It wasn't that long ago, but still. This version still does what I want it to do, but it has a bit more flexibility. It's based on the idea of a Red planeswalker that's more about emotional ma…

@Tutlaschk "Changed" is a seldom seen word, but it finds its place every now and then. The best example is Swirl The Mists. You can have the equipment grant +X/+X with X being the converted mana cost, but it's IMO a bit excessive. You're already gi…
-
@Tutlaschk I find it a bit odd that you named it Domesticate, when the card literally turns a creature into an artefact, I'd have named it something like "Transmogrify" or "Turn To Steel" or the like. As for the wording, I would've probably used th…

Congratulations to the winners!

Not in the US, but watching this whole thing happening is like watching a trainwreck that's going to have a ripple effect on the rest of the world.
-
They aren't, actually. All three of them appeared originally in Rise of the Eldrazi. They got new cards later on, but originally they all showed up together in the same set.

Vampire token-maker: Next token:

I got an idea for crystallise, I think this is an interesting take on it:
-
Got inspired for bloom. Figured I'd make a card that both bloomed and did something with bloomed things.
-
And for reconsider, a curse for all them pesky players that enjoy drawing far too much.
-
And for groundbreak, with bonus political commentary in the flavour text!
-
It would not be Return to Ravnica Again, then. :P

My submission for Charge N, creating some synergy between artefacts with charge counters and energy counters.
-
Well, I'd recommend making friends, participating in contests, throwing favourites on other people's stuff, it's what I do.
-
Hate the vehicles, love everything else, especially the representation and diversity. Loving the way MtG has been going lately.
-
I thought other people had already called other guilds (Izzet, Boros and Dimir). So pick one of those to continue the chain so that we can move on.

Lol Selesnya is the new Gruul, it seems.

I don't remember what the last set was when I started playing, it was a long time ago. I think Invasion? Or maybe the one after? I barely remember any of it, really.

That's a good workaround; the main issue with Fear and Intimidate was that it could easily just do nothing at all, so if you can get a dream/nightmare deck to reliably manipulate colours (manipulating creature types won't really work, since "artefac…
-
That's your prerogative, of course, but I do think you should be made aware of why Fear was retired: Menace does the same job, is just as flavourful, and isn't hit or miss like Fear or Intimidate (because unlike Fear or Intimidate, it doesn't "turn …
-
Well, in that case, my suggested evergreen keywords still apply. Both dreams and nightmares can have Scry, as they're associated with portents of the future. Nightmares can have Menace (because they're frightening), and both can also have Indestruct…
-
Well, for nightmares, you do have the Nightmare creature type. However, for dreams the closest thing you have is the Illusion type, which is primarily blue. No problem, glad it could help!

Very interesting mechanics! What I recommended was to make WB the "witches" tribe in flavour, but use both the shaman and the wizard classes to represent them White-aligned witches are more like wizards, while black-aligned witches are more like sha…

Indeed, good job, everyone!
