Team Draw for the win! Entry 1: I decided to use a Mechanic that was suggested by Magic Pro Player Nico Bohny: Compensate - If you didn't play first, (effect)
-
Changed the ability a bit to make it a static ability so it worked nicely.
-
Made a mistake - should be (if this permanent isn't a token, create a token that's a copy of it)
-
Another action keyword: Propagate (If this permanent isn't a token, create a token copy of it.) Also trying to think of a better name for the mechanic; if anyone has a suggestion, let me know!
-
@TheAcidicSpider yes, any target refers to planeswalkers as well, but my point is this change makes the game easier to understand - when I first was playing with planeswalkers, I didn't know that "creature or player" could deal damage to a planeswal…

                Entry 4, using Irate:
-
For flavor context, Icehaven is a subcontinent of Dominaria that is part of the continent Aerona, which also includes the nation of Benalia
-
@Lujikul the list also doesn't have menace, indestructible, and hexproof (which isn't combat admittedly), so I guess its only the ones that never have reminder text nowadays
-
@jpastor when you say flavor you mean "flavor text" right? That's where a lot of us were confused
-
@Arceus8523 You made the same mistake I made originally when reading the requirements: It has to be either a vanilla card or a french vanilla creature with only one ability. Most of the text must be Flavor text.
-
@sorinjace @jpastor It says "maximum of one ability." Does that mean I can make an entirely vanilla creature?
-
@DoctorFro the main wording issue I see with all of those cards is the lack of commas in when triggers. As for specific card suggestions, I would suggest making "Kye, Baron of Law" a may trigger to tap a creature so he doesn't have to tap himself i…

                Can I get in?
-
@Faiths_Guide ok, next time I'll do that
-
@Faiths_Guide I commented one suggestion on Zhin Fargaze @KalamMekhar I did the same with Spirit of Holi Thoughts?
-
Entry 3, using Pillage: I changed the wording of pillage a bit to reflect how recent cards have been printed with similar effects. Also, if you really didn't get it, the flavor text is a play on the "rape, pillage, burn" phrase
-
Also, a lot of the wording changes are just simpler, like changing "his or her" to "their" as well as the mana ability change, which might seem weird at first but also saves a ton of space. The same is true for the "this spell" instead of "CARDNAME…
-
@Lujikul the two color-specific hexproofs are supposed to be homages to White Knight and Black Knight, which were originally from alpha. Plus, if you think about it those two cards are only at best 3/2 First Strikers with an ability with 20% of the …
-
@ThyMaster what cards are dependent on mechanics introduced in this set? (I'll admit, I only looked over the cards briefly, but most that cared about these mechanics cared about mechanics that already existed)
-
Now, A- A noncreature spell with a keyword only used before on creatures or B - A creature that can't attack or block
-
Congrats to the @Winners and other @Mentionables @KalamMekhar, can you favorite this card for me: https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/gio-uplifting-bovid Many thanks for the great contest!
-
Congrats to all the other @Winners and @Mentionables! @AustinSmith, thank you for the contest!
-
@Tbeast430 the point is that you must have exactly three. So you need to cheat two in play at once, and you only get the bonus with three, not with two.
-
Yes, it is incredibly difficult to get three of these guys on the battlefield at once (Rite of Replication works), but with three of them you get SIX extra combats in a single turn, which is definitely worth it.
-
Entry 2, Using Vanguard: Yes, It is meant to give you six combats, and yes, it is meant to be incredibly difficult to trigger.
-
Here is my and @Corwinnn's entries:
-
                Entry 5, for Mardu Cults
-
Entry 4, for the Temur Elf-Dragon tribal:
-
Entry #2, A slightly more comical but still possible commander:
