Hello there, it's Tigersol the lurker. This has been silent for a while so I thought I might chime in on the mechanics. Specifically, I would like to offer my thoughts on Masterwork and Discover. First, I believe that there should be no cards that…

Thanks for changing this. I do enjoy pizza.

I don’t feel like ranting about this. Can we get @Letstalkaboutthis in here?
-
Dude.
-
I second @Aggroman15's question. If this has not died yet, I would like to join. What planes are left?
-
Is is acceptable to design a card for a character that exists within official Magic the Gathering canon, and is, therefore, not my own creation?

I remember the last time their was a thread concerning squirrels...

About sixth months ago Mark Rosewater announced that he had recently playtested a set with faeries in it. While this confirms nothing, there has been quite an amount of speculation that we might be returning to Shadowmoor very soon. If we did return…

Okay, it sounds like you're doing a big ol' Conflux here. If I were you, the best way to represent a clash of cultures is usually a mulitcolor themed set. It has been tried before, and, usually, it works. For example, the Invasion block used multico…

Hello, I'm Tigersol, and I am here to ruin everyone's fun by giving design advice. First of all, wording mechanics can be very tricky, but I think the the best possible wording for Compel as of now is the way @MemoryHead phrased it: "Compel target c…

Wait, how many sets is this? May I also mention that small sets and medium sets do not exist any more.

I really like discover, and I believe that is ticks off all the boxes it needed to; however I would remove the "flash" aspect of it and put it onto sorcery speed effects.

"You call this a war," he says in a old, crackly voice. "You children these days have never seen the horrors of what war truly is. It's terrible. I remember fighting in the trenches of Bidoof territory, dragon fire and Squirreltopian artillery blazi…

It's only one more day till I'm done with first semester finals, so I may be able to enter soon.
-
Ooh... that would be super cool.
-
Nice! Looks fun to play!
-
@FizzyGig Artia is very, very powerful.
-
@EnvyReaper I am merely saying that you will need some lore element to make this concept possible as a set in a combat based game. For example, Rezatta is a renaissance plane, although we are working on a set conflict. For Dumaran, perhaps the farme…

Eureka! doesn't really click for me. I enjoy mechanics that increase power, such as support, but there are many times where a Eureka! card is just really bad if an opponent controls a creature with high power or toughness. Perhaps something that dea…

Everyone here, Magic the Gathering is a game about violence. You can't make a MTG set about peace, as nice as it may seem.
-
@pjbear2005 So could I be from an existing Magic the Gathering plane that accidentally stumbled across a gate between planes?
-
@Ningyounk Oh, okay, I get it now. Thank for clarifying.
-
I don't believe you should add a farmer creature type, although a new mechanic that goes of creatures, representing them being farmers, probably works.
-
The set name seems odd, considering this is a game about killing your opponent with fire, death, and horrific monsters before your suffer the same grisly fate at their hands.
-
@EnvyReaper I can help with your set if you like.
-
Hello there! Just a few quick questions: - Is this set in the Magic the Gathering Multiverse? - Do were have to follow one of the Dungeons and Dragons classes?
-
I had a friend give me two Kaladesh booster packs for my birthday once. I puled a masterpiece Aether Vial.
-
@Ningyounk I don't think elated and cycling should be restricted to two colours. Elated supports too many archetypes to have it be constricted and cycling generally smooths out every colour.

@EnvyReaper Tricks and deception is blue's thing (i.e tapping effects, counterspells, hexproof giving combat-tricks, freezing effects) On death: White sees it as a terrible thing that must be avoided. Blue sees it as the end of life, and not much mo…

@Ningyounk I may be incorrect, but should we begin to think about limited archetypes?
