@ManaChrome I've been trying to say to @brcien that the Ampithere is perfect for the bant theme. It's selesnya colored, flies, blocks well, and synergises with the bant-colored mechanic. But... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
@brcien Multicolor matters set or not, the Ampithere and Warrior-Priestess can still be multicolor. Just look at Kaladesh for a set with a lot of multicolor cards without a multicolor matters theme.
-
@ManaChrome That sounds neat... @brcien (Hey-remember-the-ampithere? How-it-was-designed-for-getting-lands-in-your-hand? How-good-with-Thrive-it-is? Hint-Hint)
-
Finally, this is over!

@Lujikul Or when you just need four of them in your deck about milling yourself. It is certainly a mediocre card, but it's cheap. I don't exactly have tons of money to spend on a joke tribal deck.
-
@modnation675 4x Reminisce and 4x Elixir of Immortality in any Cephalid tribal deck does the job fairly nicely.
-
@Glasseschan They don't print that many faeries per set anymore but... Fine. (Even if Cephalids don't ever get any love)
-
@Glasseschan Have you heard about Lorwyn/Shadowmoor era standard? Faeries were EVERYWHERE....
-
@LexiFjor OH GOSH PLEASE! Faeries are already an extremely overpowered tribe filled with easy infinite combos. If you want to use lesser-known tribes, use Cephalids or Illusions instead.
-
@brcien It's a good concept, but no. There are few players who would give up winning the game for what? A 4/4? A 3/4? The payoffs here aren't really good enough to justify you essentially not just giving up a turn, but giving that turn to your oppon…

@modnation675 just a name change, I think.
-
@brcien Revealing it from the library would be too much like Miracles. And pretty much everyone hates playing against a Miracles deck. If we did it from the hand, the Ampithere would fit in nicely.
-
@brcien What about a keyword that cared if you controlled 4 or more other creatures at any given time?
-
What would it do?
-
@brcien Yes, your drake is off color. Dragons can be pretty much any color, but drakes are almost always U/R. Again, drakes can be blue, and the other dragons of this set can be W/G. Bant ability-Maybe Heroic?
-
@brcien Ampitheres and Coatls make more sense for an Aztec environment. W/G would be feathered dragons, while blue would be drakes. Also, the Ampithere is part white because it flies, and I don't want to break color pie that badly.
-
@modnation675 Is that a group of dragons eating sushi? If so, that's pretty cool.

@modnation675 They're also called Amphipteres. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphiptere
-
@brcien That's fine, then. You really only need 1-2 cards that actually depict sacrifice. Also, is Quetzalcoatl fine?
-
Even though they still have "slaves", just, the "slaves" are mummies. Look, you can take out the conquistadors and plagues, but it is a fantasy setting, so you're most likely going to have some sort of deities, and, well... ...they did have rituals.…

Why don't you want the few things that make mesoamerican-themed games/game expansions different than just a generic jungle set? The "gods", the invaders, their plagues, and the native's sacrifices give the area a unique story. Otherwise, it's just a…
