My pleasure! All favorites have now been awarded
-
I'll leave the thread open a while longer in case anyone wants to respond to feedback or share modified versions of their cards. In the meantime, I made a form of my own Form of the Vampire
-
The following entries did not qualify as "Form of the ..." cards. Form of the Honey Badger Form of the Ritualist Form of the Potato Form of the Butterfly
-
Form of the Fortress ( @Cnatch) http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/form-of-the-fortress Mechanically, this is a nice and balanced card. Unfortunately, I think flavorwise, I don't read this and think "Oh hey, this player has transformed into a fortress", …

All other feedback - Eligible cards Form of the Whale ( @wealthbeyondmeasure ) http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/form-of-the-whale I like the initial idea and flavor of a form that just wants to swallow things. (Kraken would have been a suitable choic…

*** Honorable Mentions*** Form of the Villager//Wolf ( @Tesarand ) http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/form-of-the-villager http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/form-of-the-wolf I have to admit I didn't really like that MtG introduced this two-sided card mecha…
-
Form of the Beast ( @CastorCrozz ) - Elegance Theme wise, this card is spot on. Beyond just following the templating of Form of the Dragon, it includes a powerful per-turn action that is right in the color and type's mechanics, and two mechanics tha…

Hi all! Thanks for all of your submissions. This was my first contest, and I am thankful that so many people participated. While judging, in addition to a flavor prize and a creativity prize, I felt the need for another prize which I will keep for …

Official entry period is now closed! If you're just now joining us, feel free to submit, but no guarantees. I'll be posting results and feedback on Sunday!
-
Lots of good entries so far! Just a reminder that today is the last day to enter! (or rather to enter and be guaranteed consideration... I *may* still accept entries after the deadline while I'm judging)
-
I think this is the last one for me. I had fun with it http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/bob-bro-to-ob
-
@gummyboys - For the contest judging, it should be named "Form of the X". However, if you want to share a differently named card that's on theme, no one will complain. And you'll still win internet points!
-
I'm sorry!!!!! I can't resist a pun! http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/grim-riddle "A fool and his gold are soon parted" "Once again, the phoenix risen, cast aside its ashen prison"
-
Thanks for the first entry! PS, just to be clear - Flavor does not necessarily require flavor text.
-
@stormbreath - Actually, I think someone did do it :P http://magiccards.info/ul/en/84.html

#1. What about that thing Wizard's isn't willing to do yet - create a 6th basic land type. It could just be a subtype called "blasted", "wild", "barren", or something of the like, which just taps for {1}, and there could be some domain cards, and so…

I made this guy for an earlier "Elder Dragon" challenge, but I think he fits this one rather well! http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/xen-the-serene-flame-2?list=user

I actually liked the first option a lot, but came up with an idea that really matched the second one, sooo... Using "No one is actually dead..." http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/ripples-in-the-veil “The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is…

Are there any themes to the set that we can work with? Without such context, @michaelmvm 's response is quite on point.

Second of the planeswalker enchantments: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/freyalises-gift-1

Mana (these don't have any loyalty of their own). Unfortunately, the planeswalker template on mtgcardsmth doesn't turn {x} into mana symbols like the newer template
-
Well, you cast it for it's mana cost (3) then it sits on the battlefield (like an equipment would) until you pay its meld cost (4). That lets you meld it with a planeswalker you control (like an equipment's equip ability). Once Urza's Memory is meld…
-
That's one way to do it too. Did you see the one I made? Is it not very clear how it works? http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/urzas-memory-1
-
@pyrak - It's like equipment for planeswalkers- it's primarily meant to enhance your planeswalkers. It doesn't much matter whether your opponent has planeswalkers or not...
-
I love mechanics first and foremost, so hopefully you'll forgive me for going a bit out of the box and making a new card "type"... Planeswalker Enchantments! These have no loyalty of their own, but can "meld" with other planeswalkers, much like an e…

Using "The first demon..." http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/plague-doctor-13 "What's black and white and red all over?" Elven society has many euphemisms for "an execution".

While the mechanics are not directly reflective of anything Lovecraftian, this cycle of 5 "bringers of the dusk" that I previously did use Lovecraftian inspired art: http://mtgcardsmith.com/user/fabiocbinbutter/sets/2917

"I think you boys need someone to keep you out of trouble." http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/melina-paladin-of-kord

Using "Hunted by the heavens, hated by hell." http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/adrial-the-solitary "I told 'im not to eat that!" -Norin the Wary "We all wear masks. But there's usually something beneath them."

I used "The dead..." http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/bonecaller "For sale. Crown jewels, never worn." "When you stare into the abyss, the abyss stares back"
