Serra's inclusion in Modern Horizons has no lore implications. The set is (effectively) a Masters set. It has no lore attached to it and is designed solely for play. Serra is currently dead in the lore.

Aminatou's feats are entirely informed, not demonstrated. She wasn't left out of War of the Spark because she's 'too powerful', it's because they came up with her too recently and didn't have a place for her in the story.
-
Aminatou will not be in the set, there has been zero mention of her. Garruk will not be in the set. MaRo said Garruk will be in a set in the near future but not War of the Spark. They said doing more flip (DFC) creature-to-planeswalker cards was i…

Limited will be terrible since every pack will have a planeswalker, even if there's a ton of planeswalker hate at common/uncommon.

Answer: No Reason: Why do you care? The site is a tool to design things using a MTG card template. That doesn't mean you can only use it for a specific reason. Even if people somehow wanted this, it would require a ton of manual moderation. Genuin…

WotC has tried to present information on cards vertically, especially cost, at least three times in the past. Each time failed quite badly. I would recommend taking a watch on Rhystic Studies's video about card frames to get some info about why fram…

The Dimir cursed the Orzhov for exposing secrets. The Orzhov cursed the Rakdos for hurting profits. The Rakdos cursed the Dimir for quelling depravity. The Golgari cursed them all with the time to reconsider such trivial things. Ours is a fist t…

This is a fascinating read. Self reflection and assessment is totally necessary to improve. I don't make that many cards any more but I still like to go back through my collection and work on ideas I had that weren't executed well and places that I …

@animist is still untopped as best designer on this site, active or not.

The Magic multiverse doesn't have infinite planes. There are a few dozen of various sizes, with big ones like Dominaria but most being fairly small. Theros and Ixalan are a few islands each, Ravnica is one (big) city, etc. Most planes aren't even en…

So now we're exploiting suicidal feelings for likes on cards? Boy, things sure have changed since I last logged in. Edit: This should probably be locked. At best it's shilling for favorites and at worst it's a really desperate and dangerous attempt…

@Ranshi922 The chastising you is rules text.

Stupidraft: Requires 3 packs per player, any sets Each player (usually two) opens a pack, drafts a card and passes it to the next player. Repeat until pack is empty and you run out of packs. Rules: 1) Players must play all cards they draft in thei…

Buh buh buh busted.

@sorinjace I only show up from time to time, mostly to explain card balance to people in the context of formats where cards can actually be played. I appreciate card and it's a very neat idea but definitely undercosted for what it does. I would prob…

I keep getting tagged in this. Do I have two points for posting two cards? And someone posted 57? Sweet Jesus that's a lot.

Examples of repeatable effects at rare/mythic for ideas and balance: https://scryfall.com/search?as=grid&order=name&q=(t:artifact+OR+t:enchantment)+cmc=1+f:legacy+(r:r+OR+r:m) Try not to make things much better than these. No one wants to s…

In accordance with the rules as @Faiths_Guide pointed out, I'm commenting on the card above in its comments. This is overpowered and kind of thematically confused. The good: The cost, stats and evergreen abilities are all fine though will probably …

The 'cleanest' way to attack during an opponent's turn would be to give yourself the entire set of combat steps in the middle of someone else's turn. Otherwise it would be a rules nightmare.
-
The reason counters that modify power and toughness outside +1/+1 and -1/-1 are no longer used is because they were a nightmare to track. +1 and -1 counters cancel each other out so you never have to track both. Think of standard now where you have …

@corwinnn wants "a creature that embodies the concept of time"... Greeeeaaaaaaat... So, Teferi. Current ways 'time control' exists in MTG: * Suspend * Split Second * Preventing casting at instant speed/on other turns * Flash I don't want to do a…

@modnation675 I wasn't implying something was wrong with the ability, I was just saying that my initial idea was to work with tapping and untapping and I couldn't quite get it balanced right. Anyway, here's my card for @Death_Methods: So the flav…

In case anyone was wondering, I'm still working on @Death_Methods request. I've workshopped a few ideas but the main problem I'm having so far is that when you make an action repeatable (tapping/untapping), you're practically asking for someone to f…

Again, you should probably make the topic about your creations and not the site in general. Mentioning where you made the cards is fine, trying to represent the site in a self-promotion post is not a good idea.

"Currently I'm the "Most Popular Smith" on the custom card creation website that is MTGCardsmith.com." Your modesty is showing. You can't put custom cards in a deck on tappedout. One community is for brewing and sharing decks and the other is for …

@faiths_guide The combat rules should be rewritten anyway to allow for a greater development scope and simplify the number of steps there are during combat. Begin combat, triggers, priority, priority. Declare attackers, triggers, priority, priority.…
