This is just a placeholder image and idea, but I liked the idea of showing how creations can spur more creations. Another thing I think would be cool is if we had many of the Artist types use Compose (or whatever it will be called) to demonstrate th…

@TezzeretofCarmot21 I was also very excited for the concept of psy life and am still trying to develop a whole format around it. While we could make a symbol, we wouldn't actually be able to use it while making cards in Cardsmith, so either use a su…

@TezzeretofCarmot21 Oh awesome. I still haven't given up on "Overflow", so I'll definitely make a card titled that. As for the Muse, I definitely like the idea of it. I don't know that vigilance fits with r/u, and returning the Muse to the battlef…

@TezzeretofCarmot21 Well welcome! Lol yeah, it's tough. Idk if you started on the Creative Design forum or not, but we had a LOT of discussions about everything, so I'm just happy they managed to get to the point where we decided on theme and mechan…

Salutations @TezzeretofCarmot21! When did you join this project?

I'm back!!! Sorry for the absence, but family vacations cannot be avoided. Can someone on Shapeshifters catch me up on the plan and whatnot?
-
@Everybody I have returned from vacation (not that anyone missed me) and HOLY CRAP!! 300ish notifications and over 3/4 from the Creative Design thread alone. Wow! For the sake of my sanity, I'm just going to read through all of the stuff on this …

If we (Shapeshifters) aren't attacking or being attacked, do we have to block? Just curious
-
I'll volunteer Shapeshifters, because that makes art easier for me to find XP
-
@sanjaya Technically no, although you lose Psylian life before regular life, so (other than overusing Rebirth) it's unlikely that you'll hit 0 normal life before 0 Psylian.
-
Because of the aforementioned fact, I think it might be a good idea to have cards that give you psy life start at around 3 mana. If you start giving it too early, this encourages players to attack incredibly quickly, and cast cheaper cards faster. I…
-
I sincerely hope we can pull of this life-matters theme in this set, because I'm sick of limited games lasting 5 turns because the entire block is ridiculous aggro. I want to go back to when games lasted multiple turns and you could actually play th…

@ningyounk Because you mentioned me in that last comment instead of @Lujikul XD
-
@pkfdre The denizens of the plane don't want to bind the Muses? The Muses are the source of creativity and emotional outpouring, the source of the great art creations. They are the primary good force in the realm...
-
@ningyounk As I've said in a couple comments (that have undoubtedly been lost in this lingual sea haha), I really like the idea of this cyclical nature of the Muses because it makes the plane seems far older, giving it a history rather than making i…
-
@ningyounk I think we could go with the Muses having just returned a few years ago (for the cards they are simply present, for the story they just returned), and now something (or someone) is messing with the balance of emotions that the Muses bring.
-
@everybody I'm putting together a doc for myself to keep track of everything we have for the set in terms of story, mechanics, archetypes, etc., and ideally it will be less cluttered than this thread haha. So, if @ningyounk could please put the cur…
-
@Lujikul I'm more curious what's up with the absurdly large numbers on ALL of the cards and what their context might be in terms of the set...
-
I'm fine with that. You can favorite any 3 of mine of your choice
-
You can end it now, that's fine with me.
-
@brcien Those are really cool. 10 enchantments seems pretty strong though :P Also, just btw, the bug says "Construst" instead of "Construct". I like the ideas behind these, and the bug is a great step towards groundwork for commons. We will definite…

@pkfdre Its inception and real creation is on page 7, and we've toyed with it in theory and playtesting a bit from then on

@MagicChess Yeah I knew that the power and toughness boost wouldn't fit, but I wanted to give an idea for the layout of the mechanic. I like the idea of overflowing specific colors or types, rather than specific creatures. I want it to be something …
-
@MagicChess The flavor is held in the Muses. When the Muses returned to the plane, they were overflowing with their respective emotions, so the Overflow mechanic is rooted in their creative gifts and emotions they've given back to the people of the …
-
I think Overflow, going with the flavor of the Muses overflowing with emotion, should give you a benefit that involves flooding you with something; be it you with psy life, your creatures with perks, anything. I'd love it if it was a mana sink, but …

Reposting @Lujikul 's story for reference The Clayshaper What does a child do? They run, jump, and play. They move actively, like gears in a great machine. But they also cry, and smile, and hurt. They know no bounds, curious for knowledge, eager t…
-
@MagicChess Yeah I figured, I was just throwing stuff at a wall haha. And I'd love to help with the writing as well, but that'll be down the road.
-
What about something like this, which could be highlighted on the cycle of Muses. Overflow: At the beginning of your upkeep, gain X Psylian life, where X is equal to the amount of permanents with Overflow on the battlefield minus your current Psyli…

@MagicChess I personally think we could pull it off. Maybe for the second (hypothetical) set, we can explore why the Muses have to leave for centuries at a time to recharge. Maybe they get their power from something or someone else, and people start…
