Very, very Merry Christmas on Shandalar
Well, people Christmas is (more or less) a month away. This is a custom card set intended to be worked upon by us all. Why is Shandalar great for Christmas? Because it's full of giftable mana and elves.
Deadline is December 25th, 11:59 PM, for your time zone. Might extend deadline by a few days.
The challenge is to create cards that fit the draft archetypes or even the general "Christmas on Shandalar" theme.
WU: The North. Create snow cards and cards that deal with the frozen North.
UB: Necromancy. Not a Christmas theme really, more of a Grinch/Lim-Dul theme. Create cards that involve undeath and magical animation.
BR: Party. Create cards that involve chaotic partying, particularly with the Holiday mechanic. (As you cast this spell, you may pay its holiday cost. If you do, creatures you control get +1/+0 until end of turn for each creature you control that it targets.)
RG: Gifts. Create cards that help your opponent as well as you, maybe involving food.
GW: Elves. Create elf cards and elf tribal cards that involve life gain.
Enemy Color Pairs:
WB: Stellar. Create cards that involve solar and lunar effects, getting stronger with your devotion to white and/or black.
BG: Leftovers. Create cards that get more powerful with excess effects: excess damage, unspent mana, etc.
GU: Trees. Create cards that involve trees and other vertical plant life. The biggest Christmas tree is the best!
UR: Ornaments. Create artifact and artifact synergizing cards that help decorate your creatures and lands, making them more powerful.
RW: Hearth. Create cards that represent warmth and home, theming on getting an effect when it becomes day.
2nd Place: 10 Favorites of your choice, plus 3 hugs.
3rd Place: 7 Favorites of your choice, plus 1 hug.
4th Place: 6 Favorites of your choice.
5th Place: 5 Favorites of your choice.
6th Place: 3 Favorites of your choice.
Everybody Else: 1 Hug and thanks for participating!

PS: Sorry the set symbols aren't Shandalar ones. Also, if it turns out these entries are against the rules for whatever reason, just let me know, and I'll remove them!
They're fine, but in the future I think cards not specifically made for this challenge are allowed. That said, I'll have to resist the urge to put trinket dragon in first place because not only is it a clever design, but I am biased towards dragons.
EDIT: @FireOfGolden. I think you mean Archie's soda is for RG Gifts, because it doesn't fit BR Party. As for Drink Contest, it doesn't really fit at all, but feel free to tell me how it is related to the theme.
I... I misread that. Let me remove Drink Contest.
A card that I tried to fit into the UR Gifts archetype
Actually it's RG Gifts and UR Ornaments, but ok.
Anyway
Tick, tick, tick, tick, tock, tock, tock. 23 days left.
Hey everyone only 11-13 days left. Just a reminder.
Only 4-6 days left.
You still see squirrels out in the winter, right? Submitting for RG Gifts.
Submitting for GW Elves.
Submitting for GU Trees.
This is the last day to submit cards.
Closed for judging.
Just curious, when will the judgings be ready?
Sorry. I haven't found time for it recently. Should be ready by tomorrow or the day after.
6th Place: Archie's Soda
https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/archies-soda
This is a simple but interesting card. Soda tokens are basically food tokens, but they give you a choice of whether you want lifegain or aggro, making them a versatile consumable. And the second ability of having other players gain control of your soda tokens fits the RG Gifts archetype perfectly, how. Good job, @FireOfGolden! Choose any three of your cards to be favorited by me.
5th Place: Tree of Giving
Here we have an interesting work by master cardsmith cadstar369. It fits the RG Gifts archetype really well, giving every player some consumable tokens. However, the second ability is what earns this card its score: Rewarding players further for using consumables. @cadstar369 Please choose five of your cards to be favorited by me.
4th Place: Santa Claus
https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/santa-claus-66
Now this card is a cross-archetype play on the classic Christmas character Santa Claus. Its first ability is quite curious: Giving your opponent control of a spell you cast while benefiting you all the same. This not only fits the RG Gifts archetype quite well, but is also something rare, possibly never seen before. The second ability interacts with something almost never seen in magic, and most definitely not in this exact context: Permanents you own but don't control. All these give this card its score, but there is one nitpick: It should be "Legendary Snow Creature - Avatar Artificer" not "Legendary Creature - Snow Avatar Artificer." @AtlasXII Please choose six of your cards to be favorited.
3rd Place: Deck the Halls
https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/deck-the-halls
A simple card that fits the Gifts theme a little. The true gem of this card is its flavor text, which is very creative and fits Innistrad very well. I know this is supposed to be on Shandalar, but . @jaceberlin Seven favorites and one hug.
2nd Place: Trinket Dragon
https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/trinket-dragon?list=user
This is a very creative card, utilizing 0 toughness effects while not killing off the Dragon itself. Not only fitting the UR Ornaments archetype well, but it has very creative abilities and mechanical interaction. The activated abilities combined with the 0 toughness almost make this card reach 1st place. @TheDarkKnight1234567 10 Favorites + 3 Hugs.
1st Place: Seed of Awakening
https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/seed-of-awakening
Well, we have our first place qualifier from favored cardsmith Jadefire. This card interacts with fortifications, a rather old concept in Magic that hasn't been around for a while. This fits GU Trees perfect ly, and it's art also fits it perfectly. Very creative card, interacting with many interesting concepts. @Jadefire 15 Favorites + 6 Hugs.
@Everybody-Else @smax765 @SpellPiper2213
1 Hug each.
