Contest - Alternative Ideas - See the rewards!
==Overview and Information==
Hello everyone. It's been a little while since I was active on the forums so I thought I'd come back with something fun for everyone to participate in. The last player to win my 'see the rewards' contest let me know that he doesn't feel he's active enough to justify the premium membership he won so since I intend to continue to pay for the additional user's premium membership, it's time to find someone new for it!
This contest is pretty simple. I want to see new ideas balanced against a specific existing card. As an example, I made a card balanced against Duress: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/coax-forth-2
Your entry should do something vaguely similar to an existing card but with your own spin to it. Maybe come up with a new way to pay for drawing 2 cards? Maybe give us a new reason why a 2cmc counterspell is valid? There are also countless good ideas for alternative costs for otherwise cheaper but powerful card equivalents.

1. Be creative. Make something original that hasn't been done before.
2. Balance against an existing idea. Also try to balance for Modern.
3. You can have up to three submissions which you can change at any time.
==Rewards==
The part everyone wants to see.
1st Place - A custom card designed by me that meets any of your specifications or any of the other rewards. You will also get a legendary angel, demon or human named after you in the set I am currently working on.
2nd Place - A custom card designed by me to compliment/synergize with your personal favorite card from your own collection or the 3rd place reward.
3rd Place - A custom card designed by me for your favorite tribe/deck type.

If 30 or more unique cardsmiths submit entries for this contest, there will be an additional reward for first place. For the first place winner, I will paying for a year of the $5/month tier Patreon rewards for MTGCardsmith for you! This means you get lots of cool bonuses for your account like expanded capacity, no ads and the ability to add anyone's cards to one of your sets. As a side note, I don't offer favorites as a reward for a reason. I reserve my favorite picks for cards that I find exceptional, interesting and that I would earnestly want printed in an upcoming set. Cards that win my contests have all been excellent and good fits for the contest, some have even gotten onto my favorites list, but I don't think favorite picks should be treated like some kind of currency.
