Pokemon Draft-set in progress.

edited May 2017 in Custom Card Sets
I've been working on a full Pokemon draft-set, and any feedback is appreciated.
Especially if you think a card is over-powered, under-costed, or off-color - I wanna know.

Thanks!

  • YES! YES! YES!
  • Thanks Rednaxela - forgot the forum doesn't link directly to my page.
  • @PokeKrahn what pokémon generations do you plan on featuring? Gen 1 only?
  • @PokeKrahn I have to say I am very impressed by your set. I have seen many Pokemon cards before but they were usually very unbalanced and full of grammatical errors. They also usually had some kind of evolve mechanic. I am glad you did not, because that system does not fit Mtg well (and evolve is already a mechanic). All in all, good job!
  • @Brainifyer Have you never seen the Amazing Bidoof cards of @Krampiszman?

I very much agree that @PokeKrahn has made some really nice Pokémon cards. I like how they treat each Pokémon as an individual entity rather than trying to mechanically bind an entire evolutionary line together as most Pokémon cardsmithers generally do.
  • @KrampisZman Bidoofs do not count as Pokemon. Bidoofs have transcended the petty squabbles for gym badges or excessive amounts of money. No, Bidoofs are the master race. Nothing but squirrels hold them back from world domination, and that line will soon break.
  • "Hold the Line, Squirrels!! HOLD THE LINE!"
  • @PokeKrahn these are great! Keep at it and soon you'll have a full, glorious Pokeset

@Corwinnn the Bidoofs will overthrow your rule. @KrampisZman shall lead us to victory!
  • @Brainifyer, @KrampisZman, @Blazin_Biscuit - Thanks a lot, guys. I appreciate the appreciation. Sometimes I feel like I put way too much thought into these.

For this set, I'm sticking to 1st Generation, but it's likely I'll do more after. Gotta make that mythic Bidoof.
  • @PokeKrahn if you enjoy doing it, then time isn't an object. Plus if you feel you're spending too much time on them, that's good in one sense as then you can be sure they're great cards
  • One thing you could do is make a set for all the cards because then you can organize them in any order and line up all of the evolution chains.
  • @Rednaxela - Thanks - I will do that sooner than later, then. Didn't know you could re-arrange them in the set.
  • @PokeKrahn Yeah when you are on the set editor page that lists all the cards in the set, you can just drag them to other positions and line things up as you like.
