So we have kind of a vertical section of territory, with the combination of grasslands, moutains, and forest. Originally, the werewolves and the elves were at war over but a truce was called, by the elven queen, Rhysmerea. She wished to talk to Chaemar, the current alpha, about a way to settle what land belonged to whom. She proposed that both races share the disputed tract of land as separate but equal citizens. The prospect of further war was sickening, as both had lost so many over the generations of the war, and so it was agreed. Two thrones were erected in the center of a clearing, with fourteen stones surrounding them. Each stone was for a council member, to advise their monarch. As the populations were separate but equal, so the ruling of the country was. Internally, elves and werewolves have had little to do with each other, but that trend is losing ground. Crimes are dealt with in the court of the victim, and very few matters are dealt with by both monarches. For diplomacy, war, alliances, and trade negotiation, matters are decided upon by unanimous decisions or, if one cannot be reached, the councilors join in as a third voice, with the majority winning. Colors will be GWB
https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/the-two-thrones Artifact land. Represents the original glade in which the truce between the werewolves and the elves took place, and its symbolic and morale value. It's slightly op, but I've seen much worse
Welcome to the League of Diplomats, since every good plane needs people absolutely controlling everything you do, Our colors are Growth, Sans-Red, GWUB.
Meet our leader, Reyeva, who inherited the throne after witnessing her brother, the former kind murder their father. This led to his execution, and her rise to power.
These are two of her closest helpers. One seeks to protect the woods, the other to protect the freedom of the sky.
A politician known only for taking the stage for ridiculous periods, Jik... he tries
A major event in the history, the Trial of Urit led to his execution after Reyeva testified against him. His spirit escaped and now antagonizes the guild.
The real way this guild prospers it through their inspiring speeches. Therefore, the place where these speeches are written is the real way we channel our "Power."
Average citizen? Well... they’re all politicians and their protectors. And we’ve seen enough politicians, so here's a bodyguard for ya.
Our answer to diplomacy? We were built for this! Our answer is to send out traveling diplomats to encourage others to not attack us.
Our answer to militarization? Take the souls of the executed and put them to work.
On a serious note, the Wizards decided that Artifact Lands were a big mistake.
Also that land is quite overpowered from an "implied" standpoint, but from a technical standpoint, I think two things would happen:
1. You can't play it from your command zone because it has no casting cost. 2. It wouldn't be affected by any commander tax since you're playing it, not casting it.
It could be slightly better if its ability was something like "{t}: Add {g}{w}{u}. The Two Thrones does 4 damage to you." (Considering painlands are things and only add one mana.) Or pull a Lotus Field to really help it out, and then instead maybe do 1 damage.
Natural Cycle should probably be just {2}{g}{u} or {2}{g/u}{g/u}. Having that hybrid mana is awkward to me. I mean, cards have been printing like that, I just find it odd. Only my two-cents though. Also, probably a decent sideboard card to sideboard in against mill decks. Also would work well with Rest in Peace to make its passive one-sided (since Natural Cycle is a replacement effect). Also great against discard. Wild.
Valuing the natural order though will prove interesting in morals and stuff. It would be interesting to see some cards based on something like a plague and whether or not your civilization chooses to do something about it, or whether they'd rather their morals about the natural order come into play and let it do its thing.
Wonderful design, holy heck. In-depth and well thought-out, both flavorfully and mechanically.
Jik should probably just say "an opponent" like other cards with similar effects do. Otherwise, there's need for some ruling on what happens if you're unable to target an opponent.
Travelling Diplomat might be something more...interesting if you could get another player to take control of it again. Otherwise, you can get rid of it pretty quickly, but then again, your opponent may have a wonderful plan that requires most or all of their mana and attacking you, making it at least delay their plans by one turn. Giving it flash could also make it more worthwhile. In sum: I love the card.
Also you follow colour combination order. Thank you so much.
@SammySammyson Thanks for the advice. I made it an artifact land because it was supposed to actually be part of the land.(Again, natural) Totally will fix the mana to g, u for natural cycle. I wanted to be able to cast it instantly, so... I'll just make it an artifact? As for the plague, we would probably attempt to alleviate the symptoms if it isn't serious. The concept of immunity through handling lesser diseases isn't new to us, and its also hereditary for the werewolves. If it is serious, we would search for a natural or magical cure. We do have good ties to magic. Probably would be shown as a card gain, addendum, life gain. @ThatOneCat 1: Wouldn't the Klymia, Skyspeaker card be better if it said "ub, t: ANY opponent may discard a card. If no one does, draw a card?" Because currently, I am unclear if all other players must discard a card or just one of them. 2: Currently, my huge dual kingdom is accepting refugees from the grove, the empire of Duritim, and more. Is yours? Because I'm seeing no one else, human or otherwise, offering humanitarian relief, and I'm starting to feel like Britian right after France was trounced by Facist Germany in WWII.
And its good to know that. Certainly we would be willing to have a truce/mutual defense alliance with you, if you were to offer. I just needed the refugee situation to confirm that.
@DrakeGladis Hmm doesn't seem that our nations will be negotiating any time soon, since you are taking in these 'refugees'. It's going to get interesting when it starts.
@Varadrus When I looked at your cards, I saw facisim staring at me. Not likely to have an alliance. But think of it like this: I'm accepting your rejects. You chased them out of your kingdom(rightly or wrongly), and I am accepting them, so they ARE NOT YOUR PROBLEM ANY MORE.
@Bowler218 I have no argument with the cowboys, as long as they don't mine us/attack us. Guns might be useful, but we prefer not to violate nature. Besides, aren't you fighting @HeroKP 's bugs? Anyway, have fun. BTW, what is your policy on refugees(if you even get them?)
@DrakeGladis All are welcome within the Infinite Aethenaeum, just make sure to have your library card ready. If you don't have one, please ask an Archive Elemental where you go to grab one.
We aren't fighting the bugs, that was just some mild banter. About the refugee situation. Same thing as if they were coming in naturally, give them a gun and a job. I mean, I know I won't be the best place for most refugees, so I want to act as a transfer station. If they come in from a group being attacked then we will keep them until some one better comes along to take them in.
@Bowler218 Send them to me. To quote my favorite lady: "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
Oh dear. WWII. I just reviewed all the entries, and I am seeing some interesting things. This is starting to look like WWII again. Like-someone's gonna make an atom bomb. Comparisons are as such. Bugs:Japan's expansionistic policies coupled with soviet communalisim. Librarians: America's requirement of papers for immigration, advanced technology(magic, not guns). Erm… how do head librarians get chosen? Duritim: Facisim. Potentially Italy or Germany, your choice. Either way, total rule, civilians must be in military(Hitler youth?), very bad treatment of PoW's and such. Daiari: No clue. Perhaps remeniscint of some mercenaries? Except you are taking refugees as well... You are the exception to the rule League of Diplomats: League of nations? Seem a bit more powerful, but still... Great work though. Love the art. The Grove: Another Japaneese contestant. Isolationisim, Conquest, Justified hatred of the more modernized kingdoms(except mine, as we work with nature, not deface it), and probably a very nasty opponent to fight, as they seem fanatical and would likely die to kill. The White Alliance: Potentially another America? Powerful, wants to police the world, is opposed? But sounds kind of like a true monarchy, no question. Also seems to be kind of uncertain as to its actual response to the crisis. WISH: Kind of interesting. I would compare its services to the American's support of Britian before they entered the war, but that isn't a country. Beria(me): Yep. Britian. Some Russia, due to land size and my ally, lord winter, but still. Dual monarchy instead of queen and prime minister, and council is more advisory than legislative, but I'm publicly accepting those who are refugees to my country, totally prepared to fight facsim, have a long history of war to draw upon, and I am prospering(no colonies, though). @Sanjaya666 I do not know anything about your culture, except it has braved the desolation, so I was unable to conclude anything about it in here. Please do post stories.
Yeah, I guess that is pretty spot on. I'd say more Japan than Russia, since us lifting Runa's veil and letting other countries know about us is kinda reminiscent of the abolishment of Sakoku (yes, I realise that's a century earlier, but it's a neat comparison).

It says “Target Opponent” because in multiplayer “an opponent” could be confusing.
