Oh Look Another Hybrid Contest
Now that we have hybrid frames, a good friend and I were talking and I realized something. Batwing Brume is a great card that I like but it’s all alone. So here’s what I’m thinking.
Make a card that costs 1 generic mana and 1 hybrid mana. I don’t care about whether the card is an instant, creature, artifact, whatever. Only things it can’t be are a land or planeswalker, for obvious reasons.
The effect must follow this template: “Effect 1 happens if Color 1 was spent to play this spell. Effect 2 happens if Color 2 was spent to play this spell (Do both if Color1/Color2 was spent),” with the colors in question being the colors of the hybrid mana.
Make sure that the effects assigned to each color reflect each color’s flavor in some way and also make sure that the two effects are synergous - it would make sense to play them both at the same time, and they don’t feel like two separate effects. Since Batwing Brume is the template card, look at it if you have any confusion.
So this is your task. For clarification on the rules, I will not accept mono-color or colorless entries (except POSSIBLY a card that has Devoid for whatever reason.) Also, don’t create an entry that’s W/B; we already have Batwing Brume, we don’t need another one. Other than that, pick any 2 colors you want. Remember to make sure that your card is not too overpowered for a card that’s only supposed to cost 2 mana. And finally, my restrictions are 2 cards per person and NO RE-ENTRIES so make 'em count! (I might show lenience if you accidentally mess up the card REALLY bad, though.)
Prizes! Everyone likes prizes! Each person who makes the best card for each color combination (9 winners total!) Will get a watch and 5 favorites. FINAL DAY TO ENTER IS JULY 31st!
Happy Smithing!
EDIT: Every week or so I'll update the list of entries and I have them listed by the hybrid colors used.
W/U (Azorius): Bryn Argoll Spiritdancer, Glaring Strike
U/B (Dimir): Helia, Dark Sorceress, Galloping Townsfolk, Crowded Depths, Neuronic Tutor, Thought Stasis
G/W (Selesnya): Defend the Innocent
R/B (Rakdos): Exsanguination, Tatters Rescriven
G/B (Golgari): Bogs Chant, Low Blow
U/R (Izzet): Nivix Sorcerer, Icicle Volley
U/G (Simic): Successful Accident, Reshape the Soul, Lusus Naturae
G/R (Gruul): Forceful Terraforming
W/R (Boros): Metal Mage

Nice contest mate. I hope I got you something nice
This is Helia. She is a cruel Sorceress and wants a big tribute from your opponents. If you don't pay her, she gets mad :P

(She is now edited )
She transforms into her angry version:

I saw this contest and I thought it looked pretty cool so I decided to create an entry. This spell is called Exsanguination and draws the life out of unsuspecting enemies in battle.

Does it have to be uncommon rarity and power level?
(REMADE: See below.)
(Not an entry, but related):
@VinylVantasy - Exsanguination is a great card, and I don’t really think you even need the clause that summons a vampire. The two effects you already have are fantastic on their own in terms of flavor and power. I’m not deducting points from you for having the part with the token, though, just voicing what I think about it.
@Faiths_Guide - I suppose it isn’t necessary to keep that reminder text, and I really don’t care about the rarity of the card since the effect is what’s important here. Speaking of, at first I was a little suspicious about the synergy with these effects, but I figured that it would probably add creatures to the grave that you could then try to resurrect, so I like it. Good card. ^^
@Mila - I like this because tap control is something I’d normally associate with WU, not UB, but it works here and I really like not only the effect but I even like the flavor text. It does look like something that’d come out of Innistrad. Nice work!

ALL the abilities! I know it seems really overpowered, but I playtested it in Rakdos AND in Jund and it wasn't overpowered in either.
EDIT: Also, for all of you who get mad salty 'cause it doesn't have devoid, deal with it. They never said Eldrazi's HAD to be colorless. Also, the flavour was going to be Eldritch Moon, nut the symbol wasn't out yet so I made it OGW instead. Suck it, Devoid.
The taxation abilities affect all players. If the opponent is playing blue or white, they can just pay mana. If they're playing black or red, they kill it. If they're playing green, well, you're probably going to be being dealt more damage by the attacking creatures than the 4 life spent to cast and then attack with them that that player will be dealt. It's perfectly fair.
EDIT: Also, the Phyrexian mana is because "unless that player pays or 2 life" didn't fit. I know it doesn't fit with Shadowmoor and hybrid mana, but deal with it.

@Suwako - Unfortunately since the mana cost if Izzet Dream doesn't follow the rule that I laid out in the first post, I can't accept it. That being said, the effect for the most part follows the template so if you want to rework it into a card that better fits the contest, go ahead.
@Mysterious_Gangsta - Tatters is a powerful card but it gives plenty of restrictions to balance it out, so I like it. I'm a little iffy on Bryn, but given that it forces you to play this kind of balancing act along with your opponent and also it isn't very strong in the battle stats, I like it too. Nice work.

Here's my second entry:

I dunno what's with me and W/U.
@Faiths_Guide - Crowded Depths is an interesting card and I like the concept considering there's very little support that I've seen for those specific card types. I like it =3 My opinion is pretty much the same of Bog Chant - a good card that's balanced.
@MultiverseExplorer - This uh...this looks almost exactly like Galloping Townsfolk earlier in its effect, so I'm afraid I can't accept it.
Oops, I remade Bog's Chant. Are you showing lenience because it was messed up really bad?

@yousmelllikeapumpkin - Much better. I like Defend the Innocent a lot more and it's far more tight.
@Pahanin - Good, straightforward, and clean. I really like Nivix Sorcerer.
