Mono-Colors, Guilds, Arcs, Wedges, Nephilim, or Pentacolor?

Hello planeswalkers!

Just recently, they made a tricolor Sarkhan. That got me thinking - I frickin LOVE Golgari. What are y'all's* favorite color-groups? Each one is so different, with different play styles, different aspects.

Schweet!
-Brandon

I believe the proper grammar here would be "What are all Y'alls favorite color group(s)?"
  • My fave Monocolour is Blue.
    My Fave guild is Orzhov.
My favourite Arc is Black,Blue and White (Esper)
My Favourite Wedge is Black, Blue and Green (Sultai)
My fave Nephilim is Ink Treader (Red, White, Blue, Green)
  • @Corwinnn K, thanks.

@BlaizOwlstaff Cool! You like a lot of the same things I do (blue, Sultai, Ink-Treader). but why Orzhov? I never really understood what they were trying to accomplish.
  • Actually, I might as well put my favorites here:

    Monocolor: Green
    Guild: Golgari
    Arc: Jund
    Wedge: Abzan
    Nephilim: Witch-Maw

I frickin LOVE reanimator (and Bant, sorta; hence my favorite Nephilim being Witch-Maw). Just the idea of killing things, then unkilling them, then killing them again, rinse and repeat; is enough to make me drool with excitement.
  • Monocolor: Blue
    Guild: Orzhov
    Arc: Esper
    Wedge: Abzan
    Nephilim: Witch Maw
  • @Polanety why Orzhov? I never really understood what they were trying to accomplish. they were always very weird to me.
  • @6tennis. I love the flavor of Orzhov. It represents me a lot. White and Black are enemy colors and a very complex style of magic, maybe that's why they feel kind of weird. I also like their constant flavor of sacrifice, because that is one of the only things white and black share. I also enjoy that even if they don't have a true god, they still go through all their rituals.
  • Orzohv represents our human existence. Good versus Evil. Right versus Wrong. It's the daily struggle. That's why people identify, in my opinion, with Orzohv.
  • @6tennis Orzhov is my deck's guild. Yes, they are weird, but so am I. Orzhov symbolizes light and darkness together in one, and yeah, I'm both. That's why Orzov is so great!
  • @Polanety @Corwinnn @BlaizOwlstaff Oh, that makes sense. Thanks!

    Monocolor: Blue. (coughPactOfNegationHiveMindcough)
    Guild: Simic. (coughPresenceOfGondIntruderAlarmcough)
    Shard: Bant (coughJuniperOrderRangerGlenElendraArchmagecough)
    Wedge: Sultai (coughDredgePsychicSpiralcough)
    Nephilim: Ink-Treader (coughSpliceOntoArcanecough)
Ultimately, though, I like my colors like I like my kills: penta. (LoL reference, I don't actually kill people.)*

*OR DO I? (Dun dun DUN!)
  • @Beeswax WHOA I DIDNT SEE THE GLEN ELENDRA ARCHMAGE ONE BEFORE WHOA

But yea, nice. I get now that you like dirty, dirty combos. Schweet!

    Monocolour: Blue
    Guild: Dimir
Shard: Bant, I guess, Never played with shards.
    Wedge: Temur
    Nephillim: Nephawhat?

I hover around Blue and Black. Best deck I've ever made was a Black/White Exalted. But my Dimir was more fun to play.

    Monocolour: Artifacts.
Actually one of the five colors of mana: I don't really stick with just one; I tend to jump around onto any one of the Bant colors (W/U/G)
Guild (also just raw color pair): Simic or Azorius
    Shard: Bant or Esper
    Wedge: Abzan or Temur
    Khan's Clan (lore-wise): Abzan
Nephillim: Too hard to choose one, but I can rule out Dune-Brood (BRGW) and Glint-Eye (UBRG)
  • @Memnarchitect Affinity? Whoa, never thought of that.

@epson777341 Nephilim are the only 4-color cards in the game currently, and there's a cycle of them. So when I ask "What's your favorite Nephilim?" I'm basically just asking what your favorite 4-color group is. But nice choice with Dimir! They're really fun to play with, but they're kinda just meh.
  • My Fave guild is Dimir
My favourite Arc is Black,Blue and White (Esper)
My Favourite Wedge is Black, Red and White(Mardu)
My fave Nephilim is Black, Red, Blue, Green (Glint-Eye)

    @6tennis

I answered based on the unique ability on each of the Nephilim themselves.
If I was going to play with four colors, I'd probably leave out Red.

As for artifacts, my artifact deck is Blue-White proliferation.
  • Monocolor: Blue.
    Guild: Azorius
    Shard: Grixis
    Wedge: Jeskai
    Nephilim: Yore-Tiller
  • Monocolor: Blue
    Guild: Dimir
    Shard: Esper
    Wedge: Sultai
    Nephilim: Witch-Maw
  • Monocolor: Blue
    Guild: Simic
    Shard: Esper/Bant
    Wedge: Sultai
Nephilim: the anti red one wtf is it called?
