Also, you can change the html from a cardsmith image to "thumbs" from "full," which I notice a lot <img src="http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/complete/full/2017/2/16/1487270139698565.png"> ^ <img src="http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/complete/thumbs/2017/2/16/1487270139698565.png">
But this only works for the cardsmith image links, the way @modnation675 describes it is more legit and works for all images
@nsm91 Yeah, the way I noticed was preferred by Corwinnn and I wrote that tutorial guide so that new users would have an easier time. Especially compared to the old tutorial!
Edit: Information is attained by attending a web design course in college. So if you ever have any questions about this kinda stuff, we may likely be able to help!
Since this card has to grow up to be both Mardu (Queen) and Grixis (The Black Rose), Lil' Marchesa has to be four colors (or just Rakdos but I couldn't find art for that). The temporary control is in both blue and red, though it's been shifted into red with countless near-functional reprints of Act of Treason in recent years. (Dominus of Fealty, Slave of Bolas, and Catch//Release are all good examples of Izzet theft effects). The taxes are both black and white (life and mana, respectively).
Anyway, this is intended to be a send-up to my favorite EDH deck: Treason Marchesa. It uses temporary theft effects (those countless reprints) before using Marchesa or other cards to give them +1/+1 counters and sacrificing them to keep them permanently.
Ragavan is the monkey seen on Kari Zev, Skyship Raider. Although a a simple ol' legendary token at first site, this monkey is much more. Originally owned by Yirid Nul, the captain of the enormous skyship the Banshee, Yirid his first-mate pet in a bet against Kari. Refusing to pay up when she won it, Zev had Kari decapitated for his treachery and the rest of his crew put to the torch. The two now prowl the skies of Ghirapur, stealing and killing whenever necessary.
Elesh Norn, before she was made compleat. Still not sentient and being VAT grown. But even then she was having an effect on her surroundings. It was then the phyrexians knew she was meant to achieve great things.
@Gelectrode If you use Chrome and right click on something, there is an option "Inspect" which shows you the code of each element of the page. I checked your links and you used the URL of the page that your card is on as the img link <img src="http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/zur-the-apprentice"> But an image link has to link to a .jpg, .tif., .pgn etc You need to copy the image location and use that <img src="http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/complete/full/2017/2/28/1488327818164682.png"> hope that helps
The Gitrog Monster has always fascinated me as a card, so I wanted to try to make a prelude version to it for this contest (my very first contest entry, too). I tried to make a sort of "three-step evolution" of the original card, having two stages before it finally achieves "monster" status via Emrakul's corruption. (The original post of this thread said you could have two entries per Cardsmith, so I want to enter in both preludes of The Gitrog Monster.)
I did, in fact, try to tell more of a story for the Gitrog, as well, but there's only so much context you can put on a Magic card. My intention was for tadpole Gitrog to not be evil but developing slowly into a more naturally dangerous creature. It's too young to be lethal (hence the omission of a deathtouch ability), and it also appears somewhat more docile (you can play a land, THEN get rid of a land, instead of being forced to destroy your own lands).
The older Gitrog toad is still not necessarily evil. People who venture too far into Lake Zhava and agitate the Gitrog go missing, but the beast is not actively hunting people, which I tried to reflect in its abilities. (It does not force you to destroy lands but instead gives you the option to destroy them, if you so choose, in which case, the Gitrog becomes more deadly.) The Gitrog becomes a true monster once it's corrupted by the horrors of Emrakul. (I was also fighting with the idea of making The Gitrod Toad just a Frog type, instead of a Frog Horror type, but I chose Frog Horror, since it is still a frightening and dangerous creature of lore.)
Anyway, I hope you all enjoy these cards. It was extremely fun making them, and best of luck to every other entry in this thread.
I don't know if it's showing up for anyone else, but as I was previewing my comment in the process of formatting it, it seems as though it made me actually post several times in this thread. I never intended for that to happen (I never pressed "Post Comment" until my comment was 100% finished), so I'm incredibly sorry for the extra posts.
Odric didnt always have a seat in the Lunarch Council, he wasn't always a master tactician, and he wasn't even a rider of Gavony at one point in his life. Before all of that Odric was simply an outstanding cathar with a level head and burgeoning leadership skills. These skills would one day come to fruition when his people needed him the most. This is my take on that Odric with a combination of abilities based off of his Master Tactician and Lunarch Marshal cards. This iteration of Odric's abilities have been toned down and scaled back in scope to hopefully reflect who he would become within the stories of the two Innistrad blocks.
I love both versions of this guy so i just had to make a card for him when i saw this contest! This is my first time posting for any competition so feedback would be appreciated! White weenies for life!
Meren actually has a pretty interesting history, and if you have time for a good read, Wizards has a great backstory of her posted online.
As a quick summary, Meren was native to the shard of Jund. There she was raised as a shaman-to-be among her clan of Nel Toth. As a rite of passage, the elders helped her conjure an elemental so she could learn to commune and control it. She didn't have much success, and she eventually had to fight it due to her inability to control it. Instead of fighting it within normal means, she shocked her clan by using black magic to damage and kill the elemental. They took this as an affront to nature, and decided to exile her. This is the period of time where my card references, as she begins to journey outside of her homelands. Eventually, she makes her way to an area corrupted by Grixis and feels right at home. The following years sees her learning necromancy from the denizens of Grixis, and eventually becoming the badass graveyard commander we know and love today!

Once you fix some of the things for your card you'll want to fix the image/link of your card!
Really, must be something on our end then! XD

Yeah, I'm afraid your image posts haven't worked for a while now.
You accidentally posted the card page address where the image address should be. This is why your image doesn't display for others.
