    My Fav is good old Nicol Bolas foil.... Or has to be Dragon Tyrant foil....
    But I have some gems its my All Foil Dragon deck... Everything from all the invasion ones, too DrOf Tarkir foils everything bladewings utvaras, bloodfurys, vampirics, dragon mages, planar dragons, dracogenius & firebrand, HKite overlord etc... Just got a Aaron deck box for'em too...

    I'm an oldhead LOL, started playing when Beta came out and a friend got bored and handed me a longbox full of cards. I quit playing for several years and got back in right around the time Mirrodin came out. I always enjoyed Golbin Charbelcher and built a deck entirely around it for fun. Too many cool cards to really pick a single favorite but that one was probably the most enjoyable.

    Well, i have been in since Gatecrash, so thats about two and a half years, and so my favorite card that I ever got was my very first mythic, Serra Avatar. My friend Tyson bought me a M13 Deck Builders Tool Kit. I opened my very first mythic, which is the main reason It holds a special place in my heart. My other favorites are my foiled Anafenza, foiled Nissa, Vastwood Seer, and my very first planeswalker opened, Elspeth.

    I also started when The Dark was the set and got heavily into it with Fallen Empires. Prized possession are cards signed for me by artists I know, like Mark Poole's Ancestral Recall (he drew the mother ship coming to get the guy), Quinton Hoover's Wrath of God, Chris Rush's Lightning Bolt. Most fun to play are things like Replenish or Fluctuator - fun cards to build a competitive deck around.

    Mine would be probably Terra Stomper. I know, not that rare or important or well-known, but i first started during M15 and it was my first rare.

    (it's an okay card actually, its a 6-mana 8/8 with trample and can't be countered)

    My prized possession goes back to the last time I played at a tournament level: Recycle. Tempest Block Constructed as it was called back then was a fun set to play as Slivers were fairly new, but I could still run mono-green with Recycle and Overrun and and trample down my opponent. I have so many memories of dropping that card early (The best I ever managed was dropping it on turn 3) and running the show for the win.

    To shake things up mine is a common. Syndic of Tithes. It's a 2 mana 2/2 with extort. With awesome flavor text " Entrance is free. Donations are required.". As you can probaly tell my favorite set is Gatecrash though I started when Theros came out.

    My first set was revised. I didn't play much and didn't collect them too much until Ice Age. Stopped around the time of Visions. When they put out portal I got very turned off and well, my son was born not long after that so I just stopped playing. Started up again at the very end of the 2nd Miroden block because my son wanted to learn how to play. I really enjoyed Inistrad (one of my favorite sets) but I LOVE the Simic from return to ravnica. Theros was pretty cool with the ancient greece look and feel. Was not a big fan of Tarkir. As far as my favorite card....I have no idea.

    One of my favorite combos is a Master Biomancer with Forced Adaptaion on it.

    My most prized procession was a foil nissa vastwood seer. I got her from a fat pack along with Kytheon. It was hours before I left for South Carolina from vacation. I was so happy that I locked the card in a safe along with other cards (I know, I am kinda insane).

    Definitely my Mishra's Workshop from antiquities. And you're right with your theory, at least, for me. My favorite set is Ravnica City of Guilds, which was the second set I got when I started playing, my first was 9th ed but I'm not counting that and I hate it.

    Damn, this is a hard one.

    As a devoted mtg gamer at heart, and coming into the game at about the Mirrodin/New Phyrexia block, my most prized and nostalgic card would have to be Skythirix, the blight dragon (http://magiccards.info/scans/en/som/79.jpg). First mythic I ever pulled, and the sole reason I am pro-black. Go removal.

    Otherwise, for the sake of pride, I would have to select my foil Ugin, the spirit dragon (http://www.mtgmintcard.com/images/mtg/singles/frf/eng-foil/UGIN-THE-SPIRIT-DRAGON.jpg). Again, I had been blessed by Lady Luck to have pulled this mythic from a booster box of fate reforged, and I have it nicely displayed in my collection.

    Magic cards are like children, you never want to pick a favorite, but you always do *~*
