Archetypes! I need to create a signpost uncommon for each two-color archetype, so far, I have the golgari, izzet and gruul signposts: Anyways,here are my options for each archetype, still up for changes: Golgari Mill: (Look for c…

@SteampunkDragon I ran into the same problem, that's why I decided to exploit the fact that airbenders are underrepresented and black has no clear element, so I decided spirits should be black and white this time (I plan reinforcing this idea with t…

@The-DM I intend landfall to appear but not mention it, just like ferocious and heroic in the recent Ravnica-War of the Spark sets. triggering with a land has become a fairly common thing for green. As for the Bender subtype, I don't know, it does…

Mechanics: As the first post suggests, Converge is already in the set because it is easy to achive thanks to the gainland cycle. It is also a reference Harmonic Convergence, wich appears in the legend of Korra. Flashback is under consideration si…

Overall set Avatar: The Last Airbender has two central themes: Bending the elements: This will be translated into a land subtheme, I'll fill 10 of the common slots with the entire gainland cycle. https://www.mtglands.com/main-lifegainduals.html R…

I'm just messing around, they are way more political indeed, as I said, these correspond to modern ideas in modern days. WUBRG color pie is about older, more fundamental pillars of philosophy.

So, let's think what color combinations (Guilds) would mean. Allied. Purple-Pink Could be about achieving society's potential, ambition in community, massiveness, large projects, you get the idea. Pink-Brown Are about collectiveness, this is as c…

@tomigon well... they kinda did.

@arceus8523 the Birds of Paradise colorshift looks like something that should exist that green was never supposed to have. Realized the blog entry is very old (2012), why did nobody talk about this?
-
@korandangels (I had never seen those cards before, omg) @herokp The original post (link in the first paragraph) has a references to real-world philosophers whose ideas align with the suggested colors, of course, I don't expect you to read a 25+ bo…

I also wass thinking of another archetype wich for now im calling "plant tribal'. Plant tribal: We all know Mill is too slow in any format, this only needs to mill a little, just enough for green cards that take advantage of exiling your opponents…

Ya'll are making me think something... This set has a thing for wraths and mass Death. Token-Sorcery can exploit this. This set might be below 50% in creatures but make it up in token creation. This opens a space for tokens subthemes and Inst + sor…

Yes, this Is not a set to be played and be balanced in reality. I don't see the point of perfectly simulating what Wizards does in real life, I mean, I will not be spending my time and space creating a Lazotep Behemoth for example. I will only cre…

So far I don't have any characters. Any art, characteristics or anything that the main chharacters should have is welcome. As I said. The automatons were created to protect the interests of these people before the ctastrophe and now they have calc…

@tomigon why are artifacts nyxtouched?

And in case you don't know, reprints are my FAVORITE part of sets. So I would appreciate a good cycle of reprinted lands

So, after reading about the skeleton, I proceed to make the thingy, I will edit it as I go I want this to be a relatively small set, This limits the number of archetypes. So, I will begin making some commons for the set. ARCHETYPES TO SUPPORT: RW:…

@domrikade right, I do enjoy opening space for unorthodoxy even wthin the limited enviroment. That reminds me, given what I have planned, some mechanics that can fill more than one spot: Overload: It helps get death triggers for both GB and turn s…

Automatons archetypes: RW break your stuff: Using wrath effects with on-death triggers in their stuff, the automatons don't fear utter end, they will achieve victory through anihilation. RU forced card draw [To be decided]: I was suggested this sh…

After A LOT of iterations I have finally decided to do a storyline with THREE wedge factions with a non-black antagonist! Each will have two archetypes, except one Is shared by two of the wedge factions. Factions are the following: Jeskai Automaton…

This is kinda getting in shape, RW are the color of wraths, wich fits in the break your own stuff. Wraths make sense in a plane where all was destroyed in cataclysm. I think that archetype solidified on its own.

@izitru sounds playable and fun! will test mechanics. @korandangels spirits are new, but it does make sense since so many people died. Red seems to be the less defined races... hmmm. Maybe they should share space with automatons? Whats good about …

Well, so far my favorite is a post apocalyptic world, completely devastated by an unknown force, only inhabited by undead, fungi, insects, automatons and mutants. I'm writing on it. This also reminds me of a thing I had previously created: Scraps …

Deluge, Chaín or Concatenate. Still not sure wich name to use. (When you cast this spell, reveal the top card of your library, if It has converted mana cost lower than this spell, you may cast it without paying it's mana cost) Or (When you cast th…

@izitru thank you! I do agree GU throw and shoot Is too janky lol, and I said W in break your stuff because white has artifact/enchantments wraths. But It does make sense for It to be Jund.
-
@tommia Oh no... I... have to try, I'll talk to him. I'm concerned of what is their role in this place, hopefully they aren't on the wrong side.

@izitru I love the idea. Scavenge is actually pretty good in the storm scale, wich means similar mechanics are not off the table. The thing is I still don't know wich fun archetypes should stay and wich should go, that determines what the mechanics…

@korandangels there's three that caught my attention: 1. Extreme terrain I like, plus, it isn't mutually exclusive with a lot of other themes. Like microscopic, only microorganisms were able to survive extreme conditions. 2. Quantum I'm not sure h…

Just gonna dump possible world-mechanics enviroments here: Matrix set: Basically a set within or revolving around virtual reality. I had previously suggested an imaginary plane with illusions, demons and horrors as the main races, but this is more …
