Movie/Book Lines Contest

Hello! I made this contest with inspiration from watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Mt favorite part of the movie was that one line:
Tis but a Scratch
So, with that in mind, I thought up this contest. Pick a line from a movie or book, and create a card that references the line. The card can be named that line, or can say the line in the flavor text, but must have the line anywhere on the card.

This will be ongoing, then I will set a deadline when there are enough to judge.

Rules:
You may submit any number of new cards, and up to three old cards
Any card making platform is allowed
You must say where the line is from when you submit a card.

    Ye three olde cards:

    Laputa Castle in the Sky

    From the movie "Laputa: Castle in the Sky."

    The Curse of the Black Pearl

    From the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl."

    Godlike Status

    From the movie "The Road to El Dorado."

    @ChoyBoi - This is a fun contest idea! Would you accept cards with quotes from video games as well?
  • Thats a great idea @TenebrisNemo
  • Ok, ok... we all knew this was coming...

    The High Ground

    In case you've been living under a rock all your life, it's from Star Wars.
  • oh god is this just going to dissolve into prequelmemes?

    im here for it though
  • Old card from: The Princess Bride
    dizzying-intellect

    Old card from: Star Wars The Attack of the Clones.
    i-dont-think-so-4

  • Do lines from plays count? This is from The Merry Wives of Windsor by Shakespeare (I think it's probably been made into a film at some point).

  • Lines from really anything will work @Animist. As long as the card has the line your good.
  • Youre Not Alone

    This card is based on a scene from a video game named Final Fantasy 9 where the main protagonist Zidane loses all hope after his purpose and true identity is revealed to him, but when he sets off alone to destroy monsters, all his friends arrive to aid him, one by one, and help him realize what he truly is. The quote in the flavor text is from that scene.

    The card's name is based on the song which plays during the scene: You're Not Alone.

  • Change the Stakes

    The quote in the flavor text is from a video game named Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (1997).
  • Seeing as this contest has a lot of entries, I will be judging this contest tomorrow, most likely around midday.
  • Closed for judging
  • Judging:
    I'll give feedback on every card, and list winners at the end. Judging will be based on flavor, concept, execution, and originality.

    Feedback:

    @Corwinnn
    "Friends from Work": I think this is a really cool concept, and definitely embodies the line. The one strange thing to me is having fighting without a splash of green.

    @TenebrisNemo
    "Laputa, Castle in the Sky": I think this is a really interesting land, and very original. In terms of balance, I think it should be a rare, however.
    "The Curse of the Black Pearl": This is a very flavorful concept. I think its very well designed, and quite original. I like it a lot.
    "Godlike Status": This is very interesting. I think it is a bit too powerful for 3 mana, but a very cool card.
    "You're Not Alone": This is a great card. I love the flavor and how it relates to the quote. This fits in really well with a lot of strategies, and is very well balanced.
    "Change the Stakes": I like the use of the mechanic, but I think it is a little too powerful for common.

    @jicklemania2
    "The High Ground": I love the flavor of this card. However, I think this is way too powerful in terms of balance. I would remove first strike or increase the mana cost to 3RR or 4RR to balance it. Otherwise, the card is amazing.
    "Isildur's Bane": This is the best take I've seen of this specific artifact. However, as is with The High Ground, I find this to be too powerful for its mana cost. I would remove the "can't be blocked" to balance it, and/or increase the equip cost.

    @Usaername
    "The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis": This is a really cool card. Its well balanced, and has the best formatting of all the sagas on mtgcs I have seen. Unfortunately, this cannot be considered because there is no movie line along with it. Otherwise, this would be one of the best cards in the contest.

    @Dizzydude
    "Dizzying Intellect": This is a really cool concept, and the line is very good, However, a divination with a draw 5 for 5 flashback is more on the lines of rare rather than uncommon.
    "I Don't Think So": Again, like your previous card, a good concept, and I love the un-card theme on it. However, the grammar should be like this:

    Counter target spell then say "I don't think so!" very loudly. If you catch the attention of someone outside the game, you may say "Jedi business, go back to your drinks." If you do, you gain 2 life.

    I don't think so! -- Obi-Wan Kenobi

    @Animist
    "Avaricious Mercenary":  An amazing concept as well as delivery. The card embodies the quote, and the card is even playable in some decks!
    "Second Breakfast": I adore The Lord of the Rings, and especially the idea of second breakfast. A great card, and very original.
    "Erase Legacy": The formatting is great, and the quote fits perfectly with the card. The single comment I have is that this type of card has been done a lot before.

    @SpellPiper2213
    "Over the Wall": This is a really great card, and even though I have not seen the show, it seems really fitting with the quote. I also find this very original, but perhaps a rare.

    @DadAdventure
    "The Ents are Going to War": I love the idea of this card, but it should cost a lot more to create such large tokens.
    "Isengard, Corrupted Keep": This is a really interesting card. I love the quote, however, it is a little bit powerful to create two 3/3 tokens for one forest.

    Winners:

    In 1st place we have TenebrisNemo with You're Not Alone!

    In 2nd place we have Animist with Second Breakfast!

    In 3rd place we have SpellPiper2213 with Over the Wall!

    All winners will get two favorites from me.

    Thank you everyone for entering cards! This was a great contest to host, and it was because of everyone who entered with such great cards that made it so good!

  • @ChoyBoi im sorry but I call bs what do you mean there's no movie line!?
  • @Usaername,
    I'm sorry? Is there a line associated with that? If so, I'm so sorry for not realizing.
  • "did you ever hear the tragedy of darth plagueis the wise"
  • edited November 2020
    @Usaername - I think what @ChoyBoi means is that you didn't put that quote ON the card. The title itself isn't exactly the quote, just a part of it, and he may not be familiar with that movie/quote. I didn't realize it until you actually put the question  down, and then I could hear it... prior to that it just seemed like a card title
