Here is my submission to the eclipse contest! I don't know how all the cool kids did the fancy thing where the card just shows up, so I just put a link.
the Idea is that Shayda was once a powerful sorceress that harassed the power of the moon against the warnings of her elders until it drove her insane, as everyone had told her it would, and eventually enslaved her to the Luna, until she was freed by Helios.
It is so hard to fit so much into one card, and I was tempted to make a set of three (one for the enslaved Moon Shayda, one for the free Sun Shayda, and one with conflicting loyalties for when eclipse is active), but then I read the rules, and well darn it MTG cardsmith, I'm foiled again!
Anyway, I hope everyone likes the design, and have a good time judging all these great contestants!
(by the way, I am aligned with the moon, I know it might be confusing with this card)
Quick clarification question: Once the cycle is determined, (Sunlight, moonlight, and so on) the same player will always have their turn with the new type of light first, correct? (Sorry if that's a confusing question, I don't really know how else to word it...) If you don't understand, say so and I'll try to reword it.
Sage of the eclipse, pretty much exactly what you want on turn 3 to start playing around with your opponent... best of all, unlike a lot of other designs I've seen so far for creatures it doesn't rely on it being specifically day//night during your turn... if you "lose" the flip with your all moonlight deck, your creatures won't be doing much of anything during your turn.
Well, I realized that my question doesn't matter regarding my card, as the eclipse thing would have made the original iteration go berserk.
Moon for the win! (That means I'm a Descendant of Luna, y'all!) I spent a lot of time and thought on it, so I'd appreciate feedback and such on the card post itself.
And the corresponding token:
Well, I hope y'all like this little beauty, although it probably won't win, 'cause there are quite a few other great cards out there!
P.S. I might be speaking out of turn here, as I'm sure the crew that runs Cardsmith has a lot to do, but the token creator could really stand an upgrade. It doesn't even support mana symbols, and the text enter-er is kind of bad... Just a thought
https://mtgcardsmith.com/view/maldune-the-endless-sands-1?list=user So this is a weird one. So while this isn't explicitly based on the upcoming eclipse, I figured what better way to represent the difference between the heat of the sun and the chill of the night than the desert. When the sun rises, your creatures throats dry out as they search for water, and the freezing nights offers only a little reprieve. Also Mal'Dune is a play on Muad'Dib, from the book Dune (saw it as a fitting choice). Anyway this is for Followers of Helios. I hope you enjoy!

Also, quick idea for @mtgcardsmith , maybe have the top three winners earn both profile pics?

Luna.
Kinda working towards a "alone in the woods" horror vibe for this one.
Going for Luna here - "Our enemy, the sun, has been out in force all day!" - Paul, of Paul and Storm
... This could probably be either, but I'll go with Luna.

I created this card mainly for the Eclipse effect. I put this for the Descendants of Luna because I want the blue avatar!
This card got huge inspiration from Nightwish's song Sleeping Sun.
Here's my take at the leader of the Followers of Helios

I haven't done this for a long time so I'm not sure about this one.
