I will say, at least, that I am thankful for not being in his position, hahaha. Damn this is a lot of entries, especially considering that some of the entries are entire decks, and most other "entries" are at least two cards, all "commander"-like that can be SUPER HARD to grok. Poor Llamalord, who shall govern the furry horses when he succumbs to the pressure of a thousand thoughts?
I've been very outspoken lately about issue of contests not ending properly lately. To some degree, it matters not so much if they end, eh, because it is about the journey, and not the destination. Furthermore, some of the contests are small enough to evoke a resounding "meh..." from the participants. This one, however... A lot of people pitched in here. This might be one of the most active contests, and I feel like it would be a grave injustice to not have this one concluded.
Is it possible to re-activate or bring someone else in to judge the entries? I would volunteer, but I am currently rather busy, working on the upcoming monthly circuit challenge and then that silly thing called "real life".
Another thing entirely is that a contest this "size" really does need more than one guy on the job of judging.
I am going to announce my next contest the following monday, which means I will be available for some time after that, so I was wondering if there were any volunteers who would help me judge (I was thinking 2 or 3 more people) this contest? the judging process would take while since there are a lot of cards to go over. Likely a week, if not more, so yea, it would be an undertaking, truly. But I feel like we owe it to eachother to do this. Now we will do it, some other time, others will.
If you want to, let me know in a PM, and I will try to assemble a judging team to conclude this, eh, magnificent chaos, of a challenge.
I will say, however, that the "rules" of the challenge may change a bit, such as, and I am sorry to say this, but unless someone else takes it upon them (because I won't), I would prefer to exclude the entire *decks* that people made, and focus solely on commanders, simply to lessen the workload. There is a lot "legwork" to be done when judging a contest. Reading, understanding and comparing cards take a lot, lot, lot, lot of time.
This is my offer, anyway. Let me know if anyone is even interested in concluding the contest.
This one will most assuredly be one of the reactivation challenges. We like to wait at least 2 months to give the owner a chance to come back and complete the contest. That gives the owner ample time to deal with the things life throws at them. It's hard to know when a Cardsmith is coming back or if they are ever coming back, but we also want to see a good challenge come to a conclusion, so this one WILL get reactivated if @Llamalord44 doesn't come back to finish it.
2 months does seem like an extensively long time, though?
Seems to me that most of the "hype" will have died down by then, which is a bit of a shame, though I can see why such a long period is in place for re-activation.
I has want to enter. If lamma lord hasnt to come back, I'm making triduel decks! That's right! Corwinnn Vs. Corwinnn Vs. Corwinnn. or maybe that exept Tomigon somewhere in there. This will be fun.
