I just lost a lot of favorites. (This isn't narcissistic)

Now this is just an idea, since large amounts of favorites on accounts have been dropping like flies. I have a feeling it's because of the site purges, old account get deleted, and the favorites with them. Just wondering if this is so, or if the sight's just glitching ;D, so thank you devs for responding!

    I lose favorites because I delete cards. I deleted a card with 40 favorites recently because it had an error in the text. It said "whenever" where it should instead have said "If".

    Well I don't really like deleting cards much, and I've also never been creative enough to get a card that big! I was just wondering specifically about this one time though, since it seemed to happen all at once.

    I just thought it was old cards that it didn't recognize for the favourites anymore. I noticed that with mine too, but it still looked like I had most of the favourites on my cards.

    I just thought people were cleaning up their favourites and thought "Ugh, why did I favourite this?"

    Then I lost like 60 favs in a day and thought, people can't hate me that much! Ha ha
    I think it's to do with how long the card has been up for. They just don't recognize anymore. Or it might have been accounts purged, but I thought that was only done when announced, and there was no purge when I took notice.

    I think an old favorite (1 year old I guess) loses its effect on favored members' list. I deleted old cards with many favorites on it, but I realized my number on favored members' list didn't change. But accounts of who favorited my cards aren't deleted (like Shinobi, WarierOfNature..'s accounts).

    @Tomigon That could make sense. Because if anyone remembers the KillerTurkey guy who just spammed favorites on mine, it would make sense somthing like 20-50 favorites disappeared, since that was about a year a go. And the cards still say they have favorites on them. Nice thinking.

    As is often the case, @Tomigon is correct - the counter displayed on the homepage is looking for the count in the last year. So if you see a bunch drop off suddenly - it was probably a very popular card that is now over a year old (certainly sounds like the case with @Suicidal_Deity). Hope this clears this up - there is no favorites eating worm.
