  So how this works is: We take the name from an actual card, take flavor text from a different actual card, and then come up with our own card in terms of card text?

  @cadstar369 yes, that is exactly right. The harder part is making the three elements work with eachother.

  Card names are unique. What you're doing is asking to just change the function of a real Magic card. The function of a card is tied to the name of the card through the Gatherer ruling. I really don't think this is combining at all, just a "how would you re-purpose a magic card name."
  
  On that note I think that the card Hubris wasted a lot of potential in the flavor and power of the card, but I don't like copying card names over as it conflicts rules wise with the base game.
