  • @TrippleBoggey3 Nice to know it's not the entry that make people win or lose your contests, but who you are. That spares me the necessity to make entries for them...
  • @Mila, I mean for like tiebreakers. If there's a tie, I let the nice person win.
  • Ok, I wasn't really serious about that anyways. I saw myself, judging the entries is quite hard.
  • @Corwinnn 's aristocrat challenges looked really fun...Have three color aristocrats been done yet? If not, will you do any @Corwinnn (if he doesn't, I will)?
  • @KimJongMartin - I will probably be doing them after all this crazy work/school stuff comes to an end. At least, that's the dream!
  • @Corwinnn

    Ahhhh...Okay. Then four-color aristocrats...Then five color ones! ;D
  • LoL @KimJongMartin - And finally, Colorless Aristocrats!
  • Don't forget energy colored aristocrats... that would be weird.
  • And then we'll move to Disney's "The Aristocats" to really put a finishing touch on it all
  • Oof land aristocrats too...
  • What about 'Snow' aristocrats (that doesn't even work)?
  • @Corwinnn

How does this sound for a challenge (if you're okay with it, @Corwinnn, of course: Aristocrats of the Multiverse.

Basically, you pick a faction ( a Guild, a Shard, a Khan, Phyrexia, any of the Theros cities ect.) and make an aristocrat of it!

(Can nobody, apart from @Corwinnn, if he wants to, make this challenge please, since I'm only putting it here to hear @Corwinnn and other people's opinions of it.)
  • @KimJongMartin Seems cool! If I were you, I'd put some criteria for what an aristocrat would need to be, though.
  • @KimJongMartin - If you make one general challenge like that, then you make it all one challenge. So for example... say you want to make a Knight challenge. You could make it a 2 week Knights of the Multiverse challenge... or you can have five 1 week mono-colored Knight challenges, then ten 1 week two-colored Knight challenges, then three colors, four colors and finally five colors. (no colors? planes? melding?).

2 weeks of a challenge versus over 6 months of challenges.

And, just cuz I'm not sure if I mentioned it before... sometime around Mid January, my schedule opens up a bit more, and I'll start having more challenges. Mechanix fifteen is coming soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that!!!
  • I know once my no.1 cardsmith contest is done, @VinylVantasy and I are going to create like a season competition where points are given out every round to whoever enters and at the end of the designated time (e.g. 6 months) whoever has the most points wins. It is good as if you miss a round then you just don't get points for that round but also allows anyone to join in at any time as only those who are on frequently will succeed in it.
  • I'm always impressed at how much time and effort people put into their contests as opposed to me. I'm king of embarrassed that way.
  • @Corwinnn - Yeah, I was only gonna do one challenge. To add a twist on it, I was gonna say you could make an aristocrat of a made up faction too.

So can I make the contest?
  • @KimJongMartin - Sure you can. I don't own the idea, it's only awkward when you have two or more of the same contest running at the same time!
  • @Corwinnn - Thanks. Sorry - I was just a bit confused! XD

I will be making the thread later today (hopefully).
  • Here's another thread idea that I'd like to see people's feedback on: The City of ______.

How does it work? I will create a card - the mayor of the city, say. Then, someone will create a card relating to the mayor - an advisor or something. Then you could make a card related to the advisor, ect., ect.

What do you think of this idea?
  • @KimJongMartin That sounds fun. I think, people really can create nice cards for the city contest. I even have great artwork just waiting for being used for a submission :)
  • Thanks @Mila - I've been preparing it, actually. I found a decent map, so people can see what the city - Khare - looks like. It's here:

    image

I'll also write some very basic lore on what the city is like, although most of it people will decide themselves. It's not like one of @TripleeBoggey3 's challenges where you pick parts of the map and then make cards of that part.

Nice. Artists quarters and necropolis. I am sure, I'd have some ideas!
  • Ima back, with some more thread ideas:

    Contests:

"You win the game." Make a card with an alternate win/lose con.
10 (Numbers Contest.) Make a card with the number 10 somewhere - in its P/T, mana cost, rules text, flavor text, name, ect.
Duel Decks Series Where I give two 'decks' (Mirran vs. Phyrexian) for example, and people make cards for each of them. The winning 'team' gets prizes.
Ongoing Mechanics Challenges Where you make a card with a mechanic from the encyclopedia, then name another mechanic from there. The next person makes a card with that mechanic ect.
Stories of the Multiverse Where you create a card which, through the artwork, flavor text, name and flavor tell an interesting story.
Make an Enchantment Tribal Card The name says it all.
[Sigh] Normal Animals. Make a card of a non-human real-life animal.
Creatureshifted Make a creature out of color.
Politics, Politics, and but more Politics Make a political card.

    Custom Card Sets

Lailia, the Dreampool - a world orbiting another plane. Every few years, the two worlds collide and chaos is unleashed.

I would also like to see some more stuff on the world me, @Flatfish and @Faiths_Guide created for the pro-team.

    Custom Card Discussion:

I was thinking some card of thing where you nominate your favorite card on Cardsmith.

    Tutorials:

    ???

    MTG Gameplay Chat:

A place to list all our homebrews.

    Off-Topic Chat:

    ???

I would like to see feedback on these ideas.
  • @KimJongMartin, Your running 1 Collaboration Set, Participating in 3 more, and running 4 contests, and many more ongoing contests. Maybe you should like... ya know... take a break?
  • @TrippleBoggey3

I'm running three contests, and I'm ending a couple today. And what are all the collaboration sets? I'm running Incella, and started helping out with the PolitikSet today.

Not to mention you're running 4 contests, as well as helping out in a couple o' collaboration sets, while making many more ongoing contests too.

And I also didn't say 'Look at all of these threads, watch me make them all today and spam the forums ha ha ha ha ha', I merely was proposing future ideas for threads.

@KimJongMartin, At least I bothered to arrange them so they're related.

If you've noticed, my contests and sets have pretty related themes. So, if your going to make more contests, making Incella contests would be useful.

And I can run this many cause I have lots of time. Your still in middle school, and your in middle school in England! That I don't see if you have enough time.
  • @TrippleBoggey3

I was thinking about that...I was even possibly thinking of announcing Khare as a city in Incella, and then remaking the winners of each month for the set...Trouble is, I don't think Incella contests would be very popular.

I was thinking about re-starting Incella, actually - holding a mechanics contest for it and stuff like that, but I'm not sure...
  • @KimJongMartin

I wouldn't join... Incella just doesn't have that unique of a theme.
