Wins Collaborative Set Entry Page

Read the entirety of the rules, as well as the first comment, before entering!

Hello! This is JBYT_LoadedTommy from the Wins Collaborative Set, and I'd like to invite you to join the set by making decks!

Here are the rules for entry:

What's not allowed

- Uncards

- Cards that are far too confusing

- Cards that aren't used with permission

- Anonymous entries

- Profanity (Words like Hell and Arse are allowed. Words such as a**, b****, f***, s***, c***, etc., aren't.)

- Any decks that break the rules of deckbuilding

- Any cards that do not comply with the MTG Cardsmith rules and guidelines (Remember what happened to Nigheto? Yeah. We don't want that happening again.)

- Decks designed for special formats, such as EDH.

- Cards based on real people or "non-realizable" characters, just to be safe. (Such examples include characters from video games or television, such as John Cena, Shrek, and Deadpool. WotC Magic Characters and Cardsmith users [with permission] are safe to use.)

- Decks that contain too many proxies. Originality, folks! (At least 50% of all cards in your deck [excluding basic lands] must be original cards!)

- Spam entries

- Entries in part. Your entire deck must be ready before you can submit it.

- Poorly made cards. Sure, I can fix minor mistakes, but treat this like you're making an official MTG Deck, as if an entire set is riding on your back.

- Decks with more or less than 60 cards.

- Game breaking interactions within the deck, such as infinite combos.

What's mandatory

- Deck is playable

- Deck is balanced in the style of Intro Decks, and is designed to fit with the balancing of recent core sets.

- Deck entry contains everything in the submission template (found below)

- Deck is standalone, meaning no special rules or cards are required, and can be played against normal Magic Decks. I can test this if you can't.

What's expected

- All of the cards in your deck are in an MTG card set, which you will link to with your entry (if you don't know how to do this, message me)

- Your deck should have a theme, whether it's as basic as a color alignment or as complex as being revolved around a set.

- Cards should flow together somehow. Explore the possibility of combos!

- The deck should feel like a professionally made deck. (Compare to an Intro Pack)

- Your deck should have a proper balance of lands and spells.

- Your deck should make sense. (Don't just throw cards together!)

By request, here's a quick summary of what's expected: Users are to make a 60-card deck (with lands) based on a particular theme or set. They may use cards that they (or other users, with permission) have made, as well as proxies of WotC Official Magic Cards. Then, the user submits it on this page. The deck is playtested and reviewed, and the deck is revised (if necessary) by the creator. Finally, once the deck is accepted, it will be revised (if seen fit) by Wins Collaborative, and all the cards will be remade for Wins Collaborative.

Description and Strategy: (Here's a good example from the MTG Intro Pack "Gruul Goliaths) In the Gruul Clans, bigger is better, and with the "Gruul Goliaths" deck, you'll be king of the hill. Gruul creatures crave battle so much, sometimes they don't even wait until they're on the battlefield! The new bloodrush mechanic allows you to discard a creature to pump up an attacking creature. With these creatures essentially joining the fray, you should be able to trump any blockers your opponent can produce. When in doubt, attack! Cards like Rubblehulk and Zhur-Taa Swine are both big for their cost and have aggressive bloodrush costs to boot. Attack with your small creatures early. If they're blocked, bloodrush can help you smash whatever's in their way. If your opponents aren't blocking much, those creatures can hit the battlefield and keep up the attack. It's a win-win situation. The huge creatures in this deck put massive pressure on your opponent, especially if you cast them ahead of schedule. Ranger's Path ramps you all the way from four to six mana, meaning you can untap on turn five and cast the mighty 7/6 Ruination Wurm! Arbor Elf and Gruul Keyrune also provide some leaps in mana production. Large, ruthless creatures are always welcome in a Gruul deck, and Magic offers plenty to choose from. Elderscale Wurm from the Magic 2013 core set is a perfect addition. It's a sturdy 7/7 trampling behemoth that can keep your life total at 7 or more. The Soulbond mechanic from the Avacyn Restored set is also definitely worth checking out. Soulbond allows two creatures to pair together, providing a mutual boost to both of them. If large creatures are good, large creatures working together is even better!

    Custom Mechanics:

    - (Insert custom mechanics here)

    - (Here's another!)
  • To those interested, I'm working on a deck called Corrupted Existence. It's based on black cards in the Hyperbase Set (JBYT_LoadedTommy)
  • This sounds cool, I THINK, but the instructions are very confusing. Think you could have an end paragraph that sums things up so I know what I'm getting myself into?
  • There. I updated the rules and such to make some things clearer, and added a summary.
  • I'll gladly join. I'll work on Haunted Souls, an Innistrad based BW spirit deck.
  • Gotcha! Can't wait to see it!
