The Weaver of Keru (A Plane with a lot of Frogs)
http://mtgcardsmith.com/user/vguno/sets/8482
This set focuses on the events set in the plane of Kaeru and its namesake city. Glimpses of the other great cities (Shino and Hyla) are present. Treated as a goddess by the people of Kaeru, Anura was a powerful individual who was a descendant of the great Toad God. Her bloodline was imbued by extraordinary powers but with great power comes great enemies. The Weaver, feared as the one who weaves the fate of everyone in the plane, took an interest in Anura's potential.
One fateful day, as Anura went on and watched the world from her sanctum, the Weaver seized his opportunity and took the goddess from her home. With his power, he changed Anura's fate and released the primal energy of the Toad God within her, transforming her to an imperfect copy of the Toad God. Corrupted and manipulated by the Weaver, Anura destroyed the city of Kaeru and threatened to destroy the rest of the plane.
Of the survivors, Tikano and Horitsu sought to seek help from the great city of Hyla, where the master of the Bladeless Sword, Sen, and his son, Uragiri resided. Sen was willing to help combat the impending doom and give refuge to the survivors of Kaeru but Uragiri was hesitant. He believed that they shouldn't meddle in the situation and ordered the survivors to leave but Sen stopped him. This prompted Uragiri to attack his father but alas, he was outmatched. Shamed from what happened, he was banished and was never seen again. Gaeru, the Shogun of Hyla, joined forces with Sen and Tikano to end the Weaver's plot to rule the plane of Kaeru.
Unbeknownst to them, Gaeru was a planeswalker who had also summoned his acquaintance, Ranae Batrach to help with the situation in Kaeru. He was also a planeswalker who Gaeru had met in one of his travels.
The Weaver, not content with the destruction of Kaeru, set off to invade the mountainous city of Shino. Yama, the ruler of Shino prepared his troops of warriors for war. Congregating with Tikano, Gaeru, and Sen, they deployed their people to guard the cities of Hyla and Shino while they themselves march on to the Hearth of the Weaver. Hitoda, an elderly hero from Shino led the troops to protect the cities along with Horitsu.
Arriving to the home of the Weaver, Anura, fully deformed from her corruption of fate, appeared before them. Imbued with the power of Toad God, Anura battled the foursome and managed to kill Tikano. Wounded, the other three retreated back to the city of Hyla. However, Hyla was under siege by an army of horrors led by Suma with Shino being attacked by his brother Baku. Using their last strength, they managed to defeat and kill Suma. It was at this time that they learned that a reanimated Tikano was wrecking havoc in Shino.
It was then that Uragiri, after spending his time growing and learning about the world, reached the lost temple of the Toad God. His young and pure spirit, upon touching the temple, released a blast of white mana that enveloped the world. It was then that the ascension of Anura began. The sky broke, a shining beacon -- a pagoda -- appeared in the heavens, transforming Anura back to her former self.
The Weaver attempted to dispel the ray of light but it was too pure, too strong for her and thus, she disappeared without trace. Anura's ascension meant that Kaeru would be redeemed but in exchange, it set off an incredible blast that displaced its citizens to different locations in the plane -- and some off the plane. It was both a blessing and a curse.
It's still under construction but with the cards in the set, it's a bit easy to see the lore behind what's happening. It's my first set in thie website and I hope you like it.
