Complement a Cardsmith
I spend a lot of time critically assessing cards, mostly for balance and wording. This means I spend a lot of time being critical. It's usually constructive or all in good fun but I felt like it may be time to start something more positive.
There are a lot of cardsmiths I like but in this post I wanted to point out @Saveria201 (profile here). I don't know if she comes on the forums much but I'm a big fan of twisting old ideas and doing new tricks with them. She has some really good takes on what you can do with mechanics like inspired, soulbound and devour. She also came up with the mechanic Dream which is a bit complex and possibly not totally finished but is very cool thematically. And she's pretty good at giving artist credit for the art she uses which is important to me.
Do any of you have a cardsmith whose work you really like? Share their name and explain what it is that makes you like their work.

My turn! I'm shouting out @llamaprawn who is a very interesting card designer. They have made many nice singles, and are working on a custom set with some interesting mechanics. I love their mechanic Solitude especially. To see their custom set: http://mtgcardsmith.com/user/llamaprawn/sets/7329

I tried to pick just one, but there are so many!
XD
One person I want to mention is @Teacup! Her cards are sometimes whimsical and sometimes serious and almost always amazing!!
Check out her cards HERE - http://mtgcardsmith.com/user/Teacup
(I also want to point out that we have a lot of amazing ladies making cards here on MTGCardsmith @saveria201, @Latinas, @Teacup and @Tesarand are all worth following!)
And Teacup is a girl. This changes my worldview. On a Reillyian scale.
Anyway, I badly need to give a shout-out to @Animist. I also don't know if he's on the forums and he recently came back from being away for a few months but he's genuinely one of the most creative people I've seen making cards. Among my favorited cards (all 15 of them) he has one that is arguably my favorite among my favorites. It is http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/misfiring-fluxcharger?list=user

There are loads of cardsmiths I could praise but four in particular I'd like to mention are @Tomigon, @milanaarz, @koover and @AustinSmith. Their cards are awesome, including probably my favourite planeswalker here (http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/maliza-the-mad-witch-3) and they've always been a good source of advice and feedback as well which is much appreciated by a lot of cardsmiths, I'm sure.

Anyway, good to be back!
Their ideas for contests are great. Comments are insightful and humorous, and of course make cool cards.

I'd like to make a shoutout to @Grimshac - He's simply brilliant! A true source of wisdom and knowledge that can't be depleted.
@Cryptonight - The best card critique on the site. Persistent and with an eye for detail, along with the willingness to go way above and beyond what people ought to commit to random people online, haha.
I believe he and I once remade a card 17 times in total, a process that spanned several days.
I could sit and give shoutouts to people all day, but if I know the regulars of the site as well as I know I do, I'm sure other people will get around to that.
@MrRansom is awesome. Where art thou, friend?

I'm not THAT good
I kinda just eh do whatever I do.
In all honestly, I like so many of the actual cards that various smiths have forged out, but the work I like best comes from those who give legible credit to others that have helped them on their card; who are open to said criticism (I guess it's a given, since they'd need to be, if they changed anything as a result); and also who thank and appreciate the help from others.
It sometimes takes more time to write and explain to a person why a wording needs to be different on their card (sometimes having to pull out official rules), or how to do something or other, than it took them to actually make (and remake) that card. So it's nice to feel appreciated - especially when you see that the person actually made the changes you suggested (or pointed out). Those are the smiths I really like. ;-)
Nobody has yelled at @Gelectrode yet so, "Hey Dude, we think you are cool too!"

Also @jabrewer79 is just getting started and is a great dude all around!

I really do enjoy this site. Even though I've made the infamous WhyMtgcardsmith list (kinda fun though). It's pretty amazing the amount of creativity floating around here on a daily basis.
@everyone already mentioned here have some great cards, and are some of my favorite smiths. Here is one not mentioned yet who's links I almost always click when I see them pop up as suggestions. Some really cool cards...

@Beeswax is soooo good!
Also... I've been on WhyMTGCardsmith? like three times! I am hoping for a fourth go around!
Their cards are very creative, playable and flavorful. All of you are my inspiration and I love being a Cardsmith and a Magic player thanks to you. ^^
Thanks for checking my cards. You are pretty good card maker too!
You're too kind!
@Faiths_Guide - I just appreciate you as the creators and as the great folks. ^^
@Corwinnn because his cards are hilarious and you can tell he (or she?) spends time assembling her (or his?) cards and doesn't sloppily put them together.
@superman101 because he is my friend and his cards are beautiful and look like they belong in MTG.
XD
Thanks @LukeMTG!
@lukemtg, I remember when you were a cardsmithing noob. Boy, have you gotten better. Your "Shadows Awaken" set is really cool! (Also you're my friend so yeah XD)
@corwinnn, you're probably my favourite cardsmith. A lot of thought is put into your cards, and they're really cool.
@Corwinnn Just a cool, fun-loving person. Also, Squirrels are neat and need to come back to Magic.
@Animist @Tomigon @Grimshac I look up to you all as Cardsmiths. You guys have great designs and I wish I could make stuff as well as you do.
I'm sure I've missed others I'd like to compliment, but I'm pretty bad with names (especially on the internet).
