@AngelPlate - it's direct damage rather than lifeloss. I know it basically amounts to the same thing but the contest is specifically about lifeloss rather than damage, which would have opened up the contest to so many more enchantments.
If your entry said 'whenever enchanted creature attacks, you lose 1 life' it would qualify (though I'd probably think twice about the colour of the card).
I thought of the concept of "getting drunk" as a mechanic, and thought this was the best way to adapt it. The card has a wide range of uses for different deck styles.
@Grimshac my thought was that Zur could nab it up quick, in our playgroup we try to avoid breaking combos TOO much I think this would be a welcome addition
It's going to take me a little while to finish judging on this one unfortunately but I should have winners posted up by the end of the week (weekend at the latest).
First of all, sorry for keeping you waiting on this one. I've finally finished judging and here are the results:
Honorable mentions:
@strongbelieves - All-Giving Spring http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/all-giving-spring?list=user I really like this card but for the Phyrexian mana. The flavour seems totally off to me. It's the sort of thing that would be really powerful in control-y alternate win-con decks and as such probably shouldn't be accessible to all colours.
@Faiths_Guide - Decisive Bloodrite http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/decisive-bloodrite I think you've created the necessity for an additional rule in future challenges: 'Cards will be judged by the wording on the actual card, not the wording in the comments below'!
3rd place @Corwinnn - Shining Onslaught http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/shining-onslaught I love this as an exemplar of what white is all about; life-gain, buffing and exile. The wording can be tightened up but it's technically fine as is.
2nd place @Corwinnn - Wellspring of Purity http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/wellspring-of-purity Love this as well! Probably the best flavour text in the contest, along with the 1st place winner. Great defensive potential. The transitory indestructibility works well without going over the top.
1st place @Grimshac - Orb of Infinite Light http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/orb-of-infinite-light-1 The previous version was more fun and it's probably worth noting that multiple copies wouldn't have created an infinite loop but, yes, I suppose it was a little much and at least the legendary supertype is more relevant in this version. A lovely, simple, powerful, flavourful card. What more to say? (except for a slight wording nit-pick: "gain 2 life" should be "you gain 2 life".)
Congrats to the winners and mentionables and thank you to everyone for entering.
Winners - let me know which cards you'd like faved or if you want me to choose
@Grimshac, I believe it falls to you to take up the mantle for Enchantment Contest #8
@Grimshac Technically you shouldn't have joined unless you were willing to take over, but, in your case, I totally understand and I wish you the best of luck with all your busy-ness!
Maybe, but I submitted the card 3 weeks ago when I had time and it said deadline 27th so I thought I would have time in case I won (Which I honestly didn't expect either, lol), but yea, I didn't expect to have THIS little time June A friend randomly came over and expected to live at my place for 3 weeks (Friends, right?) so suddenly I'm quite short on time between entertaining my friend and current exams

Got it (though the pic is a bit off).

How do you embed the card images if I may ask?
Broke link!
you write "img src=-IMAGE URL-" as the name of the card inside your "a href=-Cardsmith URL-"
[a href=dwadwadawdawd.com][img src=rffesfd.com][/a] with [] replaces with <>
How do I adjust the image size? It worked (above), but it's huge!
You do that by having the source image be smaller. If you're using Imgur for your image upload, it gives you options on image size
Nevermind, that fixed it. Thanks!

No more entries please.

Thanks for a super fun challenge... and for picking TWO of my cards!!
Congrats to everyone!!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the card!
Sadly, I wish to pass the mantle along to someone else - I'm just WAY too busy right now, and I haven't even finished judging my own current contest
Perhaps @Corwinnn won't mind taking over ?
No need for favourites, participation is enough for me
