Card Stories Challenge

Hey everyone! For this challenge you need to make a card that you believe could have an interesting story around it, but before you submit it, you need to create a story around the previous entry. You don't have to write your own Uncharted Realms article, but if you don't want to put some effort into the story, this contest probably isn't for you.

Rules:
- Just one entry per Cardsmith (flip cards count as one entry)
- Only new cards for entries please
- Don't have to be legendary or even creatures, but always try to make it as easy as possible for people to make a story about it

I'm not sure if there will be rewards or not, but for now, here's my card for the first person to start with:
Versylis, Giest Champion:

(Transformed)

  • For @FangQuil 's creation:

Every realm needs a hero. Some traverse between universes, and others stay where they were created.
Versylis was once a seer, who spoke with the dead, and learned of the hurtful things in the world. The village they lived in was small, and pleasant. Until (the fire nation) raiders attacked. While Versylis was searching for more spirits, so that their story may be passed on, the village was burned, the inhabitants killed, and anything of value was stolen, before the raiders left the area. When Versylis returned several days later, upon seeing the remains of the village, they collapsed, sobbing. At that moment, their spark ignited, and they were whisked away to an undiscovered plane. Versylis, after several hours of deep depression, vowed never to let another living being be harmed. After months, their spark seemingly died. Now, their spark reignites sporadically, as they continue their quest to protect the realm from all harm and evil.

    And here's my card.

    .
  • @TheFriendlyGeek I don't think you're supposed to submit a story around your own card.
  • @TheFriendlyGeek - You build a story around Arcfreed Ravager - then submit a card for the next person to write about.
  • I started reading it thinking that TheFriendlyGeek had decided the Ravager's name was Amber.
  • @Biblio2 - I did too, @Lujikul is the one with the keen eye!
  • It's pretty good that way though. "Amber the Arcfreed Ravager always hated details. She ignored her teachers and disrespected them..."
  • Alright, the next smith needs to write a story around this:

    Then add his own card!
  • wait... oooooohhhh! I thought we just made a card with lore, i didn't think it had to be built off of the previous entry I get it now. :)

    For @Lujikul's Arcfreed Ravager (http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/arcfreed-ravager):

Barrin stumbled off in a huff, anger and frustration beginning to consume him.

"Why should I, Barrin, be replaced by some, quite literally brainless, scrap heap!"

That's when it hit him. He'd create a metallic beast of immense value with an insatiable hunger for its fellow constructs.

"If it eats all the rest of the golems--including that ridiculous Metalworker--I'll manage to retain my position!"

After the construct's production was completed a coworker presented a quandry to Barrin:

"So what have we, you, decided to call this new creation?"

"I haven't given it much thought actually" Replied Barrin casually, mentally recalling it's pivotal purpose "I assume that it will be given one of the usual names revolving around Arc and Ravage... I hope to be freed by it" Barric muttered the last of his statement to himself resulting in questioning raised eyebrows from his "would-be interrogator".

"I'll call it Arc, Freed Arc Ravager? Arcfreed! That's it!" Barric shouted triumphantly. Lightning flashes illuminated the room through a tall workroom window high above. Hard pelting rain could be heard beating against it. Barric's coworker shuddered.

(Thus ends the tale of Barric. *Applause*)

Make a story for this next:

  • @TheFriendlyGeek You make your own card, it can be anything really, but first you must come up with a story for the previous entry. Hope this makes it more understandable!
  • I wrote a poem about the Schoolmaster.

    Old and frail,
    But never drunk on ale,
    The Schoolmaster mentors,
    The children of Fentors.
    He teaches them Science,
    He teaches them Math,
    Before the yong children,
    Must go take their baths.

Maybe try and incorporate some FNAF lore into this one.
  • I don't think I am going toe enter sorry
