Favorite Bot Accounts

mtgwizard9003, CardShaman and Undead favorited every 'whomp' card made by Monty, I don't think they're bots but that fits the exact sort of behavior. That is also why a bunch of cards that are essentially existing cards but with a 'whomp counter' are on the front page.
  • You can't stomp the womp!
  • You just got Womp'd!
  • Yeah, lots of people (including me) just like whomps. @Monty YOU NEED TO DO A WOMP CONTEST!!!!
    @strongbelieves
  • Sir_liker, Sir_epic, and sir_vampire are all favorite bots
  • @mtgwizard9003
    I think you're right.

meh botting favs, sounds like someone got bored one day xD

    also, here's a joke http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/usain-dab
i just wanted to make a card, and needed usain bolts pic then i saw his pose and this came to mind, and of course i forgot what i was gonna make originally
  • Uhm I just wanted to bring this up, but I saw a card skyrocket in favorites, and I was a little concerned. This is it:
    http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/xiz-the-infinite
I checked through most of the accounts favoriting this Xiz, and almost all of them have no cards made and Xiz is their only favorite. In addition, the remaining accounts all have like 1-6ish cards made and only a couple of favorites. It just seemed a little unnatural to me

Thanks @RohanDragoon! I've already reported them, but it's nice to see that other folks notice the shenanigans too! Stay vigilant!
  • @Flatfish

I think @pedropohren is a real person, yeah.

    @RohanDragoon @Corwinn
Yeah, I think users named 'Zaggerman' and 'Datboi666' are bots as well, created by 'ParanormalParadox', because they've never made any cards, have no bio, no unique avatar, and have just favourited two cards: Both by ParanormalParadox. as well as 'Snorlax' 'SmallToxicChild' 'PokemonGo' may be, 'DatMLGCat' 'Gal92103' 'NecroKingxXx' 'XFOire' and several others are all certainly bots. They all have either made one card or none, have bland names, bland/no bio, and they generally have ethe avatar you start with.

ParanormalParadox's card 'Xiz, the Infinite' is, yeah, a strange card to be so popular.

Thanks @Corwinn for reporting him. I was going to, but then noticed you did.
  • Thanks to you as well... @KimJongMartin! Every once in a while we get someone who wants to show you his amazing card, and usually it's not very good. But all they end up doing is exposing themselves and their bot accounts.
    XD
  • Sorry, I forgot several other of ParanormalParadox's fake accounts:

Eren - Weird cards all made on either September 11th or 10th, and look like they took about two seconds to make. This is less certain, since she has favourited six cards that aren't of ParanormalParadox's, but still a bit suspicous.

Gal92103 - There are two accounts named this following him. I already mentioned one just pointing out he made another.

CatsAreAmazingdot.org - Such a bad name it must be fake. And never made a card just favorited one of his.

Pickle99boy - never made a card, wierd name, and favourited and followed him.
  • Now this guy even doesn't try to hide anything:
    http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/archshadow-of-nyx
    9 fake accounts.
  • Nice @Flatfish! He has a couple more, and ALL of them have been reported!
  • Okay, so I promise I'm not just saying this because I had some beef with him, @barchae looks like an offender. This one is a bit wonky, however, I apologize if I'm wrong.

    Look at these accounts:

    http://mtgcardsmith.com/user/Lunamoonbalzer
    http://mtgcardsmith.com/user/Severia

Perhaps people just really like shrines...But I don't know man, seems a bit weird that a cardsmith should join and then get loads of favorites and follows from accounts with few cards + loads of favorites on his cards.
  • @KimJongMartin on Barchae's account, multiples of his cards are commented on by Severia.
    Example: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/sorrow-incarnate-1?list=user
    Severia commented:
    "Love the art!
And the concept is very cool.
Cant wait to see the other shrines you make ^-^"

IDK if this helps or hurts your argument against @barchae - just putting it out there, yo.
  • @KimJongMartin - The jury is still out on those accounts, but something does seem off kilter, doesn't it?
    XD
  • @FatCat23476

See, that's another one of my problems; they're such bland comments. Looks like a cover up to me.
  • @KimJongMartin True. I deem them guilty.
  • I deem everyone guilty.
  • Death to the false gods! Praise to the True Creators!
  • Don't you guys just think that @barchea has a bit too many favorites for a newer Cardsmith?
  • @TrippleBoggey3 It's suspicious, sure, but we've seen it happen before. @Mila came storming out the gates when she first came.
  • And so did Monty - We've looked into it and we'll continue to monitor it, but it's probably best not to read into it too much.
  • I don't know. @barchae seems to think I'm like 'ATTACKING!' him or something, but really you have to admit it's suspicious. A cardsmith emerges, gets loads of favorites by accounts that have very few cards, tons of bland, mundane comments on his cards, ALL his cards are favored by a couple of users...

Both of the accounts names are very bland, the story in the bio is extremely bland, and all the accounts that follow/dash favorite his cards (or at least some of them). Here's some maths:

ONE reasonably suspicious thing + another reasonably suspicious thing + another reasonably suspicious thing = A VERY SUSPICIOUS THING.

Ok, just to clear this up, this slander has gone far enough, and yes something has to be done about this, i understand people can't go around botting. But the way this has been approached has been anything but decent.

First of i'm also a bit offended you call my cards unplayable and faulty. And my girlfriend is a bit offended as well that you say her comments are bland or mundane, she will now refrain from commenting. Well done you.

Further i have no bloody idea who likes my stuff, run an IP check or whatever. I have no ties whatsoever with anyone else liking my stuff.
  • And @KimJongMartin yes, it does feel like attacking when all you do is spewing accusations and criticizing my cards without it being constructive. You don't see me doing that on your cards, it's not nice. I welcome feedback, but be constructive about it, not just say: This sucks.
