My deck that I'm making and will probably kick butt but IDK.

4 Zendikar Incarnate
4 Rubblehulk
4 Nighthowler
1 Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord
1 Jarad's Orders
2 Faithless Looting
4 Harrow
2 Sword of the Animist
2 Primeval Titan
8 Forest
4 Savage Lands
2 Wooded Foothills
2 Bloodstained Mire
2 Nissa, Vastwood Seer
1 Retreat to Hagra
1 Retreat to Valakut
2 Oran-Rief Hydra
4 Mina and Denn, Wildborn
5 Mountain
5 Swamp

This is my first draft of a Jund land and graveyard deck. I found errors galore in it (Forgot what nighthowler did, forgot what Jarad's P/T was (I'm stupid), and then finding a price off the charts.)

So, do you guys see anything wrong with it?

Comments

  • What "Zendikar Incarnate" are you running?
  • The card :P. I'm not running four copies of myself.
  • What format is this supposed to be for, modern? There's lots of cards in the Meren commander deck that synergize with graveyard strategies that might be good ideas though a few of them aren't modern legal.

This also looks a lot more like a land deck than GY Jund. Maybe consider a Scapeshift as an alternate win condition?

There are multiple "Zendikar Incarnate" cards on the site... :D
  • Oh, I'm also wondering...How in the living heck do you have 2 Nissas!?

    @GodFerretGaming I did this online. I don't have 2 Nissas and 4 fetches.

@Faiths_Guide the real Zendiakar Incarnate, the Origins one.

@StrongBelieves It's a modern deck. I might cut all the graveyard stuff.

GOOD! Oh, what is your most expensive card you own?
  • Conspiracy Mirari's wake. It's at about $9. I don't have very expensive or good cards.

wait @zendikarincarnate is this deck for magic online or real life?

  • Lol @godferretgaming @zendikarincarnate my deck is full of 13 dollar mythic foils xD
  • @LukeMTG, I've got a deck with Nissa, Vastwood Seer, and I was thinking about putting my Expeditions Temple Garden in there...Those 2 cards are worth about $120 together. And then there is my Expeditions Misty Rainforest...
  • @GodFerretGaming... oh that's just my deck. I have MANY other valuable cards. Put together (not including ones that are under 10 dollars), they would be worth enough money for me to survive by myself for a long, long time.
  • K, my personal insights:

    • Why the graveyard theme? I understand it has powerful cards in it, but it just seems too unrelated. Most good Modern decks run around a central theme and what cards are not in the theme either support it or protect it. The graveyard theme just seems too unrelated.
If you really want to run the graveyard theme, I would highly suggest replacing the Nighthowlers with the Gitrog Monster. Not only does he benefit lands, but he is a 6/6 Deathtouch crazy frog! Another card I would recommend is Omnath Locus of Rage because sometimes you really need to channel all of the lands you are getting into win cons. I would probably replace the Jarad and one of the Faithless Lootings with two of him. In addition, you may want to playtest Avenger of Zendikar. If you like it, I would replace it with some Rubblehulks, Hydras, and maybe Retreat to Hagra.

    • Land base looks good... May be worth it to get a Stomping Grounds for Fetching's sake. It helps that much with mana bases. Same for Overgrown Tomb and Blood Crypt, but not as much. Need a cheaper alterative? Use the BFZ Rare lands instead.

    • Oh yeah, one more thing: Use Elvish Mystic and/or Jaddi Offshoot. Those cards will save your life over and over again. They mean that much.

    Hope advice was good..
  • @Gelectrode, I'll replace 2 of the Nighthowlers, because I like how they can bestow for a cheap price.
  • @ZendikarIncarnate, if you really want to maintain the sub-graveyard theme, I would highly recommend Grisly Salvage. It is insanely budget and gets you everything you need (creatures, lands, cards in graveyard).
