Darth Malak:
Malak was an extremely powerful Sith, known for his bravery and aggressiveness in battle. A leader, and a usurper. He was a Jedi who fought in the Mandalorian wars, with many victories to his name. Though he was prone to the darkside, as his victories often came with a certain moral price.
Dethtrone means whenever this creature attacks the player with the most life or tied for most life, put a +1/+1 counter on it. It is meant to represent Malak's betrayal of his master and his desire for power.
Malak's modal abilities are designed to represent the costs incurred through his actions. Notably, they are both abilities around which a deck could be built so that your opponents feel the effects more strongly than you.
