How can one not be impressed by a power that can bring together Liliana and Garruk, Nicol Bolas and Ugin. The power to bring any other walker to fight by your side, for your cause, limitless power, yet still retaining no lore, no accolades, no knowledge of the things they've done, truly the Wizards behind the curtain.
That being said, favourite planeswalker that isn't me would be none. I honestly don't have a favourite. I don't look at the walkers with the same adoration that I have for creatures, not sure why. Maybe because their loyalty is fleeting, maybe because I feel like they don't have enough of a story that can be told on one card. Their complexity is disengaging for me. I feel like people need to learn about them too much before they can accept or enjoy them, and I don't get that from creatures. Creatures are so much simpler, yet exude such profound flavour. There are no tomes written of a Deadly Recluse, or a Phylactery Lich. There is no omniscient power felt from a Raging Goblin, or a Llanowar Elf. But you get a sense of them so completely. Planeswalker are enigmas, and the only thing I know about enigmas, is that I don't know enough to trust them.
That being said, I will use every Planeswalker at my disposal, and as such, I suppose I am more like Nicol Bolas than any other Walker. Ha ha.
@Suicidal_Deity As you can already tell, our society is obsessed with people that are good at things. Celebrities. Some are good at singing, some are good at Martial arts, some are good at acting, some even just look good. Planeswakers are clearly greater, more powerful and more relate able then simple creatures. You could say they are merely wizard's celebrities. They write about them, they tell stories about their deeds, and they make cards of them. They are made out to be greater then creatures. Like colors, everyone picks a favorite. It is a simple emotion humans feel to fit in, express themselves, or enjoy the game and the stories more. It is not nesicicary to have a favorite for anything, but it is something humans enjoy quite dearly.
