@Beeswax What makes Wisdom more balanced than Staying Power, is that not all creatures gain the ability just the one that has Wisdom. That way it can be better balanced. I do see what you are saying about making it unkillable for cheap, however I do still think it could be a balanced ability if put on the right cards.
=========================== Mechanic - Bravery Wording - When (This Creature) blocks or becomes blocked, If its toughness is less than or equal to the blocked creatures power; (This Creature) gains (Abillity) until end of turn Other - Used on Creature cards Examples: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/champion-of-the-tome#.VT2navnF9RQ
Mechanic - Tidal (N) Wording - (At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a tide counter from this creature. If you can't, put N tide counters on it.) Other - Used on sea-related permanents. Examples: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/brielle-tidereader-2?list=user#.VT2sikvY9D0 ------------------------------------------------- Mechanic - Animosity Wording - (This creature is dealt damage in the form of +1/-1 counters.) Other - Used on creatures look like shit its shape. Examples: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/lavaborn-tiger-8?list=user#.VT2uDUvY9D0 ------------------------------------------------- Mechanic - Hunt Wording - (If this creature would deal combat damage to an opponent, you may assign that damage to target creature instead.) Other - Used on creatures that bow is in its art. Examples : http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/axel-ambush-sniper#.VT24RkvY9D0 -------------------------------------------------
Sorry if I look greedy, but I've made a bunch of custom keywords, so I couldn't pick only one…
Vote My favorite is Collective My least favorite is Final (Sorry, but it reminds me of buyback, and I hate Forbid.)
Mechanic - Spellmorph (needs help with name) Wording - You may play this face down as a 2/2 creature for {3}. Turn it face up any time for its spellmorph cost. Other - Used on sorcery cards as a way of using them as a creature or using it at instant speed. Occasionally having different abilities. Examples: http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/wave-form#.VUF_kvnF9RQ
Sorry, that should read "When this creature enters the battlefield if it's not a token, put a token onto the battlefield that's a copy of it. If either leaves play, sacrifice the other.
My favorite right now would be Imprison by @michaelmvm. I like the fact that the cards are jailed, but can get out on "bail".
I hate to say it, but my least favorite is Against Odds by @fraziel07 (sorry). You had a lot of potential with this ability, but limiting it to creating tokens seems like a waste. You could do something along the lines of "whenever _______ enters the battlefield, if it is the only creature you control, (something happens)." It could be a card that makes tokens, but I don't think ALL cards with against odds should be stuck with that. (ex: Whenever Azorius Patrolman enters the battlefield, if it is the only creature you control, detain target creature.) Or something like that.
Mechanic - Vengeance Wording - If you or a permanent you control was dealt damage this turn, you may pay (some other color of mana) instead of (the original colored mana). If you do, that (spell, creature, etc.) becomes those colors instead and gains (an ability, or do something special).
Spare parts - When this artifact is put into the graveyard from anywhere, put __ cog counters on the field. Build- instead of paying this artifact's mana cost, you may instead sacrifice __ cog counters to summon this card. This is a mechanic I want to use in my custom Urza expansion that I want to start called Urza's Realm. It basically adds a new source of mana into the game, that is produced by artifacts only.
Pressurize seams cool. It's got a nice Steampunk Izzet thing going on, and it encourages attacking (which is usually what makes the game end). It also works with counters, though. So you could accelerate it with proliferate.
[Updated] I changed battlecraft to be a little less potent: Battlecraft (This card costs {1} less to cast for each damage a source you control dealt to opponents this turn) ... Should it say "this spell cost {n} less to cast" instead of "this card" ??
Huzzah! Warbrand Skirmisher is the correct version... Flash (You may cast this spell any time you could cast an instant.) Evoke {cost} (You may cast this spell for its evoke cost. If you do, it's sacrificed when it enters the battlefield.)
Welp I've got a few... Mechanic - Reckless Wording - This spell has flash as long as you control no untapped lands. When this spell is put on the stack empty your mana pool. Other - Currently only using for Black spells. Example - http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/ryvek-the-audacious-1?list=user#.VY9RJVJQX8w
Mechanic - Preserve Wording - When this creature enters the battlefield, you may exile target land you control. When this creature leaves play, return that land to the battlefield under its owner's control. Other - Currently only using for Fungus creatures. Example - http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/thallid-melder-1?list=user#.VY9RzVJQX8w
The last one is just a take on the to-be-determined assembling of Contraptions effect demonstrated by Steamflogger Boss. Mechanic - Assemble a Contraption Wording - Put the top card of your library onto the battlefield face down as a colorless artifact Contraption with no abilities. Other - You may not look at face down Contraptions you control. Contraptions are given sacrificing abilities by other cards. Example - http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/readied-defenses?list=user#.VY9Wg1JQX8w
Favorite: Imprison I would rather just give some advice than have a least favorite.
@Beeswax@Corwinnn Evoke costs are cheaper than mana costs because if you evoke it then you only get the effect and not the body. You could possibly make a creature that had evoke, an ETB, and a death trigger (same as the ETB or otherwise). That might warrant a higher cost because you get the explosiveness of two triggers immediately. As the first example that popped into my head: Imagine if Eternal Witness also Regrew a card on death, and had Evoke. The Evoke Cost might be higher than the mana cost.
@Tomigon It's just occurred to me that if Tidal used time counters instead of tide counters, then it would function with things like Jhoira's Timebug. And anything us 'Smiths make that deal with them. Have you considered this before? If so, what made you decide to go with a unique form of counter?

I changed battlecraft to be a little less potent:

Example 2: Warbrand Skirmisher - http://mtgcardsmith.com/view/warbrand-skirmisher-2#.VY7vQ4JdU8o
Notice, the wording on the two cards' Battlecraft ability is different, I don't know which is preferable. You tell me?
Red pseudo ramp! Huzzah!
Warbrand Skirmisher is the correct version...
Flash (You may cast this spell any time you could cast an instant.)
Evoke {cost} (You may cast this spell for its evoke cost. If you do, it's sacrificed when it enters the battlefield.)
From what I've seen, Evoke tends to be cheaper than the normal; Mulldrifer costs, what, 4U, and has an Evoke cost of 2U.

Azrin, Archangel of Culling
